Chapter 132
Chapter 132
"No one mentioned quitting. What you honestly confessed, I accept it all. Everything." Rawlf once
again kissed the top of Veronica's head and continue,
"I feel very regretful not only because I wasn't there with you during your pregnancy but because I
wasn't there when you needed someone the most. I'm sorry. Maybe it is my karma for my previous
actions but ever since I lost you that year, I felt so empty. So lost. And so crazy that I couldn't find a
lead on how to find you. Not even a trace. I couldn't explain. Maybe because since then we have this
intangible connection telling me that I should be there with you. And yet, fate played me that I wasn't
even able to find you not until you yourself returned back here."
Rawlf tightened his arms around the woman beside him and inhaled her addictive sweet smelling
hair.
"To be honest, I am feeling scared right now. Very scared Very scared into thinking of all the
'what ifs'. What if there was no one to help you that time? What if those damned bastards
successfully destroy you. What if you didn't return here? What if I didn't feel something for you then.
What if I already forgot about you. I'm filled with all of these and I know, I wouldn't be able to forgive
myself even one of those 'what ifs' happened to you, to our children."
Veronica suddenly sat up surprising Rawlf. But she didn't move anywhere else but to sit and put
Rawlf's head in her lap. The fierce, powerful Rawlf Sy laid his weaknesses bare in front of her and
Veronica was overwhelmed by the surge of emotions inside her she wanted and felt the need to
pamper him and devote herself to her the same way as he did and show to her.
It takes two to tango, they said. Veronica finally understands the deeper meaning of that cliché
saying. Love is mutual. Love is them. Love is both of them. Love is them being one.
"I can understand what you feel. I can't stop you from thinking or feeling that way. But please,
every time you think or feel these negative emotions, remember that I'm already right here beside you.
Me and our children. Our little family."
Rawlf raised his hand and caressed Veronica's face. He enjoys the sweet and warmth emotion his NôvelDrama.Org © content.
heart and soul is bathing with. "I love you."
Veronica softly smiled at him and slowly dropped her face to kiss him on the forehead. "And I,
you."
Rawlf suddenly closed his eyes, his face a little distorted. "What happened?" Veronica asked in
panic.
"I don't know, these sweet emotions are too much for my heart to handle. I felt it beating wildly."
The man said in a straight face. He clearly knew what he was feeling and yet still said this out loud.
Veronica on the other hand blushed as she pinched his tall nose.
"You, really."
The man chuckled and pulled Veronica to lie back on the bed with him. As much as he enjoys the
feeling of her lap yet, he believes that embracing her soft body and from time to time straying his hands
on her mounds is the best feeling, ever.
"His eyes are blue and speaks fluent Country R language, so he's a local of the country."
"Hmm, there was also a gap between his upper front teeth. He managed to escape despite that
the place was surrounded both by Uncle Bien and Country R's force. That man should also have
connections with Country R. He even managed to escape."
"He said that you offended someone here?"
"Yes. The first thing that I thought of was someone from the Yan family or the relatives left but with
how they were easily destroyed just days after we left the country, I doubt anyone from them could
have the connection with that man. It is still a big confusion because I can't think of anyone my father or
my family has gravely offended."
"Sleep now."
Veronica turned to look at the man in front of her. 'That's it?! No words like, "I want you to stop the
underworld" , or like, "I'm going to find that man anywhere and make him pay for what he did" kind of
lines?'
Rawlf laughed quietly seeing her expression and Rawlf could read what exactly was playing on her
mind.
"Sleep now. Leave the rest to me." Veronica looked at him deeply.
"No. I know I couldn't also tell you to just let me be with it. Let's face it ….together." Rawlf looked at
her eyes, as deep as he could, fathoming it.
"Hmm. Sleep now."
Veronica, not content, moved to sit up but Rawlf pulled her back. "Rawlf," her voice determined.
Rawlf pulled her much closer to him. He caressed her face through his fingers, from her eyebrows
to her lips. And slowly, he kissed it with his. After the sweet, gentle kiss, he moved to kiss her forehead.
"I understand."
Two words but means a lot for her. She beamed and clung to his body to sleep. Veronica was
exhausted from having to talk for an hour and her consciousness soon entered dreamland.
Having Rawlf beside her is a comfort she knew she couldn't get from others. That night, after
telling Rawlf everything she hides at the bottom of her heart, Veronica finally was able to feel very light
and at peace.
Sure that the woman beside him is already asleep, Rawlf gently moves out of the bed so as not to
disturbed her. He pulled a robe, wore it, took his phone from the bedside table and dialed a number
while gently opening the outside balcony of their room.
Once Secretary Ryan answered his call, Rawlf said straight away,
"Send me the result of the investigation so far. Also, contact that idiot from Country R. Tell him I
need his service again."
The next morning, the couple turned on their usual activities, on the surface. After the revelation of
what happened in the past, the couple both knew that each was already working on the investigation of
the said matter.
The unknown person was capable of tainting Eddie Wang's reputation, ambushed Veronica that
caused her state of comatose and lastly, was surely the same person who had her kidnap when she
was still seven months pregnant and if she wasn't any fortunate, may have suffered from an
unthinkable situation.
It's true that after Veronica recovered and worked on herself to protect her family that no longer
threat happened, yet still, the couple wanted to discover the mysteries behind it.
'Who was the culprit? And why?!'
