Chapter 10 Could She Still Forgive?
Chapter 10 Could She Still Forgive?
The moment she opened the door, Amber felt a sudden rush of embarrassment.
Her tiny house was about to be presented entirely in front of Liam. With his upbringing, he would
certainly not let his face give anything away, but Amber could already sense his condescending sense
of superiority.
Abby was sitting at her desk with a cell phone in her hand. When she heard the door open, a mixture of
worry and happiness could be heard in her tone as she asked, "Amber, why didn't you answer the
phone? Did it get wet in the rain?"
Abby was still wearing the same jacket and it was slightly damp on the shoulders. It seemed that her
teacher had sent her home. Amber heaved a sigh of relief. She went over to Abby and rubbed her hair.
"I didn't hear the phone ring. I’m sorry for making you worry."
Abby fumbled around Amber’s wet clothes and was about to push her into the bedroom to change.
Suddenly, she paused, raised her head, and sniffed the air like a young animal. "Amber, did you bring
someone back?"
Her long and thick eyelashes slightly fluttered as she looked in Liam's direction.
Liam examined Abby quietly. He suddenly understood why Amber would rather risk her reputation than
fake a marriage with him—Abby was a stunning beauty!
It was as if God knew how perfect her looks were and hence, deliberately placed a minor flaw on her.
Her large yet blank eyes were as gentle as that of a doe’s. Even Liam, who was accustomed to all
kinds of beauty, took pity on her.
"Abby, don't be afraid. That’s my colleague," Amber explained to Abby while making eye contact with
Liam.
Liam introduced himself sagely. "Hello, I'm Liam Croft."
After all, Abby was just a little girl and didn’t know how to hide her thoughts. When she heard his voice,
she tilted her head and smiled sweetly. "Mr. Croft, you have a nice voice. You smell good too!"
Liam’s scent? Amber froze and thought: What scent did Liam have?
Liam smiled and made a rare joke. "Thank you for the compliment. You are the first person to
compliment me on my scent."
Amber’s eyes widened in surprise. Oh my! Liam was joking! Liam, the unfeeling man who was as cold
as ice, was actually joking with Abby!”
Perhaps it was the cozy atmosphere that suddenly lightened Amber's mood. After pouring a cup of hot
tea for Liam, Amber saw that he was still standing in the center of the living room and addressed him.
"Do have a seat! Make yourself at home!"
She felt ill at ease when the words left her mouth. Was Liam disgusted with the worn-out and shabby- Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

Liam smiled. "I'm soaked, so I’d rather not sit. I should be on my way. Why don’t you go and change
into some dry clothes?"
Amber looked at his dripping wet suit and hesitated for a moment before muttering softly, "If you don't
mind, I still have the pajamas of my late father that he used to wear at home."
"Don't bother. I still have got a bit of work at home. I'll be on my way now," Liam bluntly refused.
Hearing that, Amber bit her lip, feeling extremely stupid!
How would Liam, who had previously thrown away a coat that she had only worn for around ten
minutes, change into her dad’s old pajamas?
"It was nice meeting you, Abby!" Liam bid her goodbye.
Abby took an umbrella and handed it to Liam, seemingly sad that he was leaving so soon. "Liam, you
are welcome to visit us often in the future!"
Liam turned back and smiled. "Sure."
Amber looked at his expression—she had to admit that the man was indeed heaven's pride. God had
apparently devoted his entire heart and soul to creating him.
Not only did he come from a wealthy family and was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he was
also gifted with striking looks!
Amber had changed into dry clothes and was about to dry her wet bag when she realized that her
phone was missing!
After contemplating for a moment, she could only find one possible answer—she had accidentally left it
in Liam's car!
Amber went to the window and watched as the rain fell to the ground. She was shocked to find Oliver
downstairs, standing in the grove.
Without an umbrella, he was soaked to the skin and at this moment, peering pitiably towards the
window.
Amber's heart ached, and she hurriedly pulled the curtains closed.
Leaning helplessly against the wall, Amber bit her lip so hard that it almost bled.
It would be a lie to say that she wasn’t hurting. Oliver was her first love and the one whom she had her
first kiss with—he had left too deep an imprint in her life!
Even so, could she still forgive him after all that he had done?
