We Got Love, The Crazy Kind

Chapter 26 Wipe It for Me

Chapter 26 Wipe It for Me

When he heard sounds coming from behind the door, he took a brief glance at Amber’s outfit before

opening the door. Even though her legs were blatantly exposed, her attire was still considered tidy.

He opened the door to find Lily and the manager, both wearing meaningful smiles on their faces.

"Mr. Croft, the meal is ready. Would you like me to escort you to the dining hall now?" The manager

spoke with the utmost respect towards Liam while observing Liam's facial expression.

As usual, Liam’s face was expressionless, but the manager was quick to notice a suspicious red mark

on his neck. It looked extremely similar to a woman’s lipstick mark.

He diverted his gaze onto Amber and observed her slightly ruffled hair and flushed cheeks. Her

makeup that she wore for the catwalk a while ago needed a touch-up, and so did her lipstick.

Things added up—given the pitch dark setting they were in—Mr. Croft must’ve already made a move

…The manager was pleased that things were going as planned.

With his sharp wit, Liam should be able to realize that this whole setting was planned by him. He had

catered this perfect plan to Liam’s liking so he was extremely confident that Liam would appreciate his

kind effort.

Despite seeing how hard the manager was trying to suck up to him, Liam remained non-committal.

Just when Amber was relieved that she could finally keep a safe distance from Liam, he turned around

to look at her and said, “You’re coming with me.”

Going with him? To dine together? Panic-stricken, Amber shook her head and said, “No, it’s okay. I’m

fine. I’ll need to go change out my clothes first.”

The manager was extremely delighted when he heard this. This was turning out perfectly. He had

never thought Mr. Croft would take such a liking to this girl! This plot of his was going extremely well!

Excited, he quickly grabbed Amber’s arm and uttered, “Come on, let’s go! Go change out your clothes.

We can wait for you.”

Liam subtly glanced at the manager’s hand that was grabbing Amber. He was still wearing a calm

expression but the manager was startled by his gaze that caused chills to run down his spine. He let go

of Amber immediately and did not dare to make any further physical contact with Amber.

How could he be so careless? He should never lay a finger on the woman Mr. Croft fancied!

Amber wanted to reject the manager’s proposal but she became strangely nervous whenever she saw

Liam. As she was trying to reject the invitation, her gaze trailed downwards and landed on the lipstick

mark on Liam’s neck!

The awkwardness was unbearable! The manager and Lily must’ve noticed this too. She thought in a

panic: What would they think of this? Furthermore, it was just the two of them in the room when the

blackout happened...

No, absolutely not. She must let Liam know of the lipstick mark.

“Okay, I’ll go then.” Amber accepted the invitation to dine together and the group made their way to the

dressing room.

Amber deliberately slowed her footsteps down and sneakily caught up to Liam on his left.

Seeing how Lily was busy discussing the dishes with the manager, she thought this was a good

opportunity to speak to Liam. She lowered her voice and muttered, “There’s something on your neck.

Quick, wipe it off.”

Liam had noticed Amber’s weird movements from the start, which made him wonder what was going

through her mind. Who would have thought that it was just to speak to him secretively?

Liam’s mood was strangely uplifted. Even his stern expression softened. He tilted his head as he

looked at Amber and reached for his neck, “What is it?”

He looked at his palm and found it to be speckless.

"Not there, it's on your left side near your ear!" Amber had only intended to help Liam in the most

ordinary way, but her cheeks were flushed after he threw a sideways glance at her with his dreamy

eyes.

Her heart started thumping crazily and amidst the awkwardness, she felt an unexplainable feeling that

was somewhat sweet with a tint of shyness.

“Where?” Liam’s gentle gaze rested on her beet-red face.

He lowered his voice intentionally as well. Both the manager and Lily had already gone far ahead. The

sight of the two of them whispering to each other behind their backs screamed a lovey-dovey couple all

over!

Amber did not dare look him in the eye but seeing him rubbing around his neck without getting to the

right spot frustrated her.

It just so happened that they had reached a turning corner and both Lily and the manager were out of

sight. Liam stopped to look at Amber and grinned, “Why don’t you wipe it for me?” Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

He lowered his voice to the extent where only Amber could hear what he was saying. His voice in her

ears was flirtatious yet had an inexplicable sense of intimacy. She glared at him with her reddened

cheeks and said, “I don’t have time for that!”

Liam was thoroughly delighted with her cheeky but adorable behavior but did not let his emotions show.

"Okay, I'll just let it be then."

Seeing how he was fully prepared to step inside the dining hall with the kiss mark boldly exhibited on

his neck, she was extremely anxious, “Hold it! I’ll wipe it off for you!”

Seriously, he would be the one suffering from embarrassment—why should she care! She felt like a

back-seat driver who was panicking more than the driver!
