Chapter 0085

Sam regarded Hansel calmly. “I asked you, didn’t I? Weren’t you the one who let me pursue her? So why are you kicking up a fuss now?”

Hansel remembered the group chat from a while back, and his face suddenly turned as white as a sheet.

Miranda began to quake even more violently, swaying back and forth.

Paul reached out just in time to support her: “I’ll take you home now.”

Sam narrowed his eyes and stopped him. “Where are you taking her? Don’t forget you’re on Cooper land right now. You cannot just come and go as you please.”

Hansel also seemed to realize something. He glared at Paul with rage boiling in his

eyes.

Paul looked up calmly. His typically harmless and gentle gaze suddenly turned dangerous and sharp.

“The organizer of the conference at the Neworld Hotel is none other than Mr. Gregory Jefferson of the Narssen Biotech Corporation. At this hour, the conference is wrapping up soon. He is also in attendance, so if I give him a call, he can make it here in two minutes flat.

“If you don’t want this shameful incident to reach the elders of the Cooper family and the Jefferson family, you should know where to draw the line.”This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

In Jandersville, the Jefferson family could definitely go up against the Cooper family or the Johnson family in terms of power of status.

Not to mention, Paul had directly named the two elders of their families…

Sam hesitated for a few seconds, and Hansel also couldn’t stop himself from frowning.

“If I’m not mistaken, the Jeffersons have a partnership with the Johnsons. If the two families‘ relationship is affected by this incident, I’m afraid this responsibility would be too much for you to bear alone.”

Although Paul spoke neutrally, both Sam and Hansel could sense the blatant warning in his words.

Paying no mind to their reactions, Paul said in a composed manner, “Move aside.”

Hansel’s expression was stormy, but he said nothing. Sam narrowed his gaze but had no choice but to take a step backward, allowing Paul to leave with Miranda.

“Damn it!” Hansel swore, kicking the stone next to his feet. He was so angry it felt like. he was about to explode.

After witnessing the whole ordeal, Calvin and Zach exchanged glances but didn’t dare to say a word.

Sam picked up his jacket to leave.

Hansel leveled his retreating figure with a gloomy gaze.

Ingrid stepped forward to hold his arm. “Hans…” she began cautiously.

“Fuck off!”

On the way home, it began to pour. Raindrops pattered on the car windows. As they slid down the glass, they left behind a watery trail.

The howling wind didn’t seem to cease.

Miranda stared out the car window in a daze, feeling like there was a gaping hole in her heart. She shivered violently.

Suddenly, a warm jacket was gently draped over her shoulders, and Paul’s unique woody scent reached her nose.

Her high–strung emotions suddenly overflowed. She couldn’t hold back her tears anymore as they spilled down her cheeks.

Hearing her sobs, Paul felt his chest tighten. He asked the driver to pull over and raise the divider between the front and back seats, allowing her to vent her emotions.

After a while, Miranda finally calmed down. Thinking about what happened earlier, she clenched her fists. “Sorry you had to see that just now… 1-

“Don’t take those shitty words to heart,” Paul said to her seriously. “Other people’s judgments are one–sided and prejudiced. Sometimes, those words are just an outlet for their frustrations.

“Only the people who spend time with you know what kind of person you are. At

least in my eyes, you’re an amazing person.

“So don’t punish yourself for other people’s mistakes, alright?” Paul said gently, looking at her with utmost sincerity in his eyes.

Thanks to his words, Miranda slowly stopped crying.

She raised her head, and their eyes met.
