Chapter 88
Chapter 88
“Back off Don’t touch me!” Anastasia freaked out and struggled like crazy, trying to shove Alastor away.
She was seriously grossed out.
Anastasia turned on the shower to freezing cold temperature, desperately trying to wash off the feeling of his hands on her. He used the hands that had touched Felicia to touch her.
It was so disgusting…
“Anastasia!” Alastor was beyond irritated now.
Was she seriously resisting him touching her?
“So Jason can touch you, but I can’t?” Alastor cornered Anastasia against the wall. “Just so you remember, we’re not divorced
yet.
“Don’t freaking touch me!” Anastasia yelled, desperately telling Alastor to keep his hands off her. Her emotions were all over the place.
“Anastasia, you’ve let a bunch of people touch you. Did you really think I wanted to touch you?” Alastor’s irritation was getting the best of him.
Alastor was saying stuff he shouldn’t have, and he knew it. Words, once spoken, couldn’t be taken back.
Some words were like knives: they could stab right into someone’s heart.
Even though Alastor knew these words were harsh, he still let them slip out.
Anastasia suddenly went quiet, and the bathroom was just filled with the sound of water and Alastor breathing.
He started to panic, regretting what he had just said.
Once those words were out, they couldn’t be undone.
Anastasia stood there, numb.
She thought, “Yeah, why was I on my high horse?”
“Hurry up and get it over with… Anastasia stopped fighting, stripped off her soaked clothes herself, and stood under the freezing water.
The icy feeling momentarily distracted Anastasia from the pain in her body and heart.
Alastor turned off the shower and pulled Anastasia into a hug. “You left me with no choice…”
Anastasia didn’t say anything. She was like a lifeless shell.
Alastor wanted to say something, but the words just weren’t coming out.
Alastor was revolting to her, and Anastasia knew it.
But even so, he used sex to get back at her for that comment about not being satisfied by him after four years of marriage…
“Alastor… My stomach hurts.”
Her sex life with Alastor had been fine before. He might not have been very into her, but he’d been gentle.
But this time, even though he knew she was carrying a child, it felt like he was just taking it out on her.
Anastasia cried out, saying her stomach hurt.
But it was actually the pain in her chest that was unbearable.
She knew deep down, Alastor had never really believed this child was his.
He felt the child wasn’t his, which is why he was acting so recklessly.
Anastasia closed her eyes slowly, her tears burning hot.
Alastor’s movements became gentler, but his grip on Anastasia’s waist tightened.
“Alastor, tomorrow… I’ll come clean with Grandma Andrea and tell her it’s my fault we’re getting divorced.” Anastasia’s voice was raspy, and she leaned weakly against his shoulder.
“Let’s hug one last time,” she thought.
“Let’s
Over these four years, Alastor had given her everything she wanted.
“Let’s just get the divorce certificate. You can pick a date, and we’ll do a DNA paternity test. Anastasia was seriously tired. She didn’t want to keep fighting.
Alastor frowned, his grip on her getting tighter. “You’re in a rush to get those divorce papers so you and your boyfriend Jace can ride off into the sunset?”Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Anastasia thought Alastor was ridiculous. He was the one who wanted the divorce in the first place.
“Why are you suddenly all cooperative? Are you trying to pull some sneaky move or get something out of this?” Alastor’s voice was low. “I’ve already made a will. If the DNA paternity test says the kid’s mine, the kid gets everything. But if not, the will’s worthless.”
Anastasia had almost forgotten about the will.
“As for the company shares, don’t even bother thinking about it.”
Alastor frowned.
“I don’t want anything…” Anastasia’s voice was hoarse. She was about to collapse.
“Anastasia cut the manipulation. This house is yours, and I’ll also give you 2 million dollars in assets, plus you can choose any car from the garage,” Alastor said in a low voice.
“No need…” Anastasia replied, finding no meaning in these possessions anymore.
“Anastasia!” Alastor felt like her refusal of the assets was a challenge.
“You just need to hurry up and get that divorce certificate with me… Let’s make a clean break…”Anastasia’s voice was fading.
Unable to hold on any longer, she slipped from Alastor’s grip and fell to the ground.
“Anastasia…”
Alastor was in a panic as he grabbed Anastasia’s arm. His eyes widened as he saw the blood on her legs, which was a horrifying sight.
At that moment, Alastor was terrified.
He wished he could slap himself.
“Anastasia.”
She couldn’t handle it anymore, and that was why she admitted her stomach hurt.
– But Alastor-hadn’t held back.
He didn’t know if they could save this child.
Alastor called 911.
Anastasia spent Christmas Eve in the emergency room.
The next day, Alastor sat anxiously by her bedside, looking completely in a mess.
It seemed like he had spent the whole night by her side.
“The kid…” Anastasia realized what was happening and panicked, covering her stomach with her hands.
Sure enough, she still cared deeply about this child.
She really cared about it.
