Chapter 163
Chapter 163
“Miss Natalie, is everything okay?” Reid glanced at Natalie through the rearview mirror, noting her
expression seemed off. He spoke with a soft concern, breaking the silence of the car’s interior.
It took a couple of calls of her name before Natalie snapped back to the present.
Locking eyes with Reid in the mirror briefly, she replied softly after a pause, “I’m feeling a bit under the
weather. I want to head back to Prestige Penthouses to rest. It’s quieter there.”
“Sure,” Reid nodded, his response quickly and accommodating.
Natalie hastily deleted the video Brian had sent to her phone and shoved the device back into her
purse. Yet, she couldn’t shake the feeling that her hand, which had touched the phone, was somehow
tainted, and a wave of nausea threatened to overcome her.
When she entered her home at Prestige Penthouses, she made a beeline for the sink and vigorously
washed her hands with sanitizer. No matter how many times she scrubbed, her skin beginning to peel
at the fingertips, she still felt unclean.
It wasn’t until her phone, lying in her bag on the floor, buzzed that she snapped out of her trance.
Natalie swabbed down her phone with an alcohol wipe, patiently waiting for the chemical to evaporate
before answering the relentless calls.
It was Remington on the other end, his voice low. “Azure, there’s an opportunity in the next few days.
They’ll be at a street parade tomorrow and giving a public interview the day after. Can you handle it?”
he asked.
Silent for a few seconds, Natalie responded, “Yes, arrange a private jet for me. Direct flight to the
destination to avoid leaving a trail.”
Natalie had checked out of the hospital early as she needed to attend to an important matter. That
would align perfectly with Remington’s request as well.
After packing her things, she texted Reid. [I’m not feeling well. I want some quiet time. I’ll stay at
Prestige Penthouses.]
Unsuspecting, Reid texted back, [Okay, got it.]
Natalie watched from the window as Reid left the building and got into his car. Turning away, she
grabbed her suitcase and pressed the button for the sublevel, making her way through the
underground parking to exit Prestige Penthouses from the other side.
…
At Sterlina Airport, Natalie sat atop her luggage, idly scrolling through the news on her phone while
waiting for her ride.
The headlines first reported on the three politicians who had been attacked the day before, two dead
on the scene, and the third declared brain dead that morning. Confirming her mission accomplished,
she promptly texted Remington. [Task complete]
With Remington, she had a reputation that no mission was ever left undone.
[Good. Do you need a flight back home arranged?] Remington replied.
[No need] Natalie texted back quickly before erasing Remington’s contact and returning to the news
page.
She was about to skip past when the next item caught her eye. It was about Gracia, linked with Brian’s
news in a way that turned her stomach. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
The headline read, “Brian Travels Abroad with His Fiancee. Is Gracia Set to Join His Family?”
“Natalie?” A voice echoed from nearby. The person who had come to pick her up recognized Natalie.
She quickly put away her phone and walked toward them.
