Wolf-less Omega Luna

CHAPTER 38: MARKED

CHAPTER 38: MARKED

Alana’s POV

I exited the party too early, went back to the house, and quickly jumped in the shower as though I was being chased.

I didn’t know if Axel saw me leaving but I hoped not, —which was practically impossible seeing how his eyes were on me all through.—

What was I going to say to him after his confession today?

After a quick shower and a change of clothes into something more comfortable, I hopped in bed with my new read in hand, flipping the pages almost too quickly, and not paying attention to any of the ink.

At some point, I completely deflected and began to think.

So much had happened within the last few weeks that had led to where I was now.

I’d been beaten and left for dead in a dungeon, ran for my life from an attack from the same man who destroyed my former pack, repeatedly slept with the Alpha of my pack, flopped as a Luna and I finally made it out on top with gift baskets to show for it.

Now, my said mate and alpha had told me that he’s ready to be with me for life and I’m out here hesitating like a snail.

As his mate, marking was inevitable. I had even lost count of the number of times that my newly acquired fangs had grazed over his spot wanting to sink into it and drink him dry.

Whatever fears I have are just in my head and …

The thud of heavy footsteps in the hallway heading in my direction told me that it was none other than Axel. Not just that, the feeling I got whenever he was around or whenever his eyes were on me was tugging at me like crazy as the footsteps approached.

I quickly closed the book and hurled the covers over my head, pretending to be asleep. Hopefully, he bought it. The soft click of the door as well as the heat seeping from his bones towards me announced his presence.

“I could tell you were awake even before I got in the building, Alana.” Axel’s thick and sultry voice spread a wave of heat through me, that made me duck back the covers.

“Hey,” it barely came out as a whisper.

“Avoiding each other now, are we?”

I let out a nervous and humorless laugh, honestly because there was nothing funny for me to laugh at.

Since he was here and he wasn’t playing around, I decided to throw my cards all on the table and get right to it.

“I was a little overwhelmed by what you said back there,” I began. Axel’s face remained calm, his lips sealed in a thin line, giving me the entire floor to say whatever I wanted to.

I took that as my cue and continued. “For as long as I could remember, all I wanted was to find my parents after being separated from them for so long, not knowing if they’re still alive or dead.” I took a sharp inhale for stealth perhaps? “But recently you’ve shown me that my life could be so much more than hanging on to the unknown. I could be a real part of this pack, and I could start something that's entirely mine.”

He took a few slow but long strides to my side of the bed and that caused my heart to skip a beat and my breath to hitch.

“So why are you holding back?” The commanding tone of his voice would have drawn the truth out of me even if I didn’t want to admit the obvious.

“I guess I was…am… scared,” I admitted with a shrug. “All of this is still so surreal to me. Everything in my life has changed and it’s freaking scary. So much will be expected of me and I don’t know how much of it I’d be able to cope with. And what if you end up getting tired of me?” All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

His heavy weight pressed on the bed, dipping it and bringing his once towering frame somewhere near my eye level.

“You have nothing to prove to anyone, Alana. I’ve been ready for this since the first day I saw you here in this room. Sleeping so peacefully.” He inched closer to me, took a handful of my hair, and sniffed long and loud. “And in years to come, I’ll still be ready. Nothing is going to change, Alana.”

His hand ran over his hair and pinched the bridge of his nose before he said more pleading than a statement. “All I’m asking is for you to be my mate, Alana. Please.”

Maybe he was right. My mind drifted to my parents. They held hands and loved each other till the last moment that I saw them.

I let my mind wander to Axel’s parents. They were already aged and must have seen the good and bad parts of being mated but they still openly showed their affection and bond to each other. It had to be the same in private.

A sizzle of excitement for the future ran from my head down at the thought that I could get a semblance of that. Of happiness. Of my own family.

A smile crept up my face as I fought the urge to contain the tears that threatened to ruin my eyes.

“I’ve been ready too,” I shook my head at the sound of each word. “I just…”

The words got cut off as his lips smashed into mine and his hand cupped the back of my neck while the other one pulled me closer to him.

My hands tentatively flew to his neck, wrapping and holding on to as much of him as I could.

I parted my lips, giving him more access and I arched my head to deepen the kiss, allowing his tongue to do wonders to me and effortlessly draw out a moan from my lips to his mouth.

Have I ever mentioned that this man could kiss?

“Are you sure about this, Alana?” His voice had dropped low and thick. So deep that I was certain it was part of his beast that was in control.

He clearly wanted this as much as I did, maybe even more.

Unable to breathe properly, let alone form words, the smallest nod tilted my head.

And with that, our clothes were shredded to pieces and tossed to either side of the room.

Axel’s monster-sized cock grazed the middle of my thigh, making me shudder visibly and moan as if he had his fingers inside me.

“It’ll barely hurt.”

His lips were back on mine, traveling the length of my jawline, my neck, down to my hardened nipples, before tracing the length of my stomach with his tongue and finally letting it slide back to my neck.

I felt his canines graze my spot hard enough to hurt but not draw blood, and the burning need inside of me caused me to press my neck into it.

In one clean movement, his wide hand held my neck in place and he sank his teeth right on the spot with a sharp hiss, letting the flames burn through me from inside out.

A muffled scream of his name escaped my lips before my body started to convulse with first a little pain, and then, pleasure that surpassed what words could describe.

I brought my head forward as quickly as he withdrew his and repeated the process, but only this time it was my fangs digging into his neck and drawing a deep satisfied grunt from Axel.

We both came down from the high of us marking each other with an intense amount of eye contact that did nothing but strengthen the bond between us.

I started to sense thoughts of possessiveness, pride, and satisfaction somewhere within me.

What struck me as surprising was that these feelings were not mine, but feelings of the handsome- as-sin man that was now mine to commit, and mine alone.
