Worship The Ground You Walk On

Chapter 47 Lots of Fortune in Loving Affairs

Chapter 47 Lots of Fortune in Loving Affairs

Claudia didn't know why Ben came back home so suddenly, but anyway, Conrad was very happy to

see his father.

He waved his cute little arms and wanted a hug from his father.

Ben was wearing a sullen face. He strode over and rubbed Conrad's forehead, trying to comfort him.

Then he went upstairs directly. He picked up some documents in the study, and when he went back

downstairs, his eyes focused on Claudia who was playing with Conrad on the sofa.

The housekeeper served a full plate of fresh fruits. When she felt the weird atmosphere in the room,

she nodded at Ben and then walked away.

Claudia was on the sofa. She could feel Ben's cold gaze stabbing her back without looking at him. She

was very frightened.

Conrad was lying in her arms, waving his hand at Ben. He was babbling and his clear eyes were

blinking, looking so adorable.

Ben ignored Conrad's gaze and looked at Claudia with cold eyes. Then Claudia felt a side of the sofa

sinking. Ben sat down next to her and gave her overwhelming pressure.

She forced herself to look up into his sullen eyes. Her heart had lost a beat. The next moment, he had

already taken Conrad out of her arms.

Conrad became very playful when he was held in Ben's arms. His little hands grabbed Ben's collar and

played with his tie. He was giggling.

Ben seemed not mad at all. He rubbed Conrad's cute little face and took the tie out of his hand. Then

he put Conrad aside.

After that, he suddenly turned over and pressed his muscular body onto her. His bright eyes narrowed.

Claudia could smell the hormone he gave out.

She swallowed and blinked her beautiful eyes, her long beautiful eyelashes trembling.

Ben had been cold and gloomy since he was a kid. He had built a fence of thorns around himself and

kept other people far away from him.

The moment she met him, she fell for this mysterious temperament of his. Her love for him had lasted

for over a decade.

But it had always been a secret crush.

She never dared tell him.

Then she lost the ability to speak. Her love became a secret that could never be told.

Her soft hands pressed on his tough pecs, her crystal eyes filled with grievance and helplessness.

Suddenly, he pinched her jaw and forced her to look at him. His gaze checked every inch of her face,

and then he said coldly, “I've underestimated you. It looks like there were quite a lot of men that are

coming after you.”

Claudia paused. She looked a bit surprised.

Coming after her?

“Did you forget what I told you?”

His deep voice was echoing in her ears. His nose was so close that she could felt his warm breath, but

that made her back feel even chillier.

Claudia didn't know how to reply. She didn't have her phone by her, and Ben didn't want her to use sign

language. She wondered how she could express herself.

She didn't even have the chance to argue for herself.

Ben's eyes were fixed on her. His tall and strong body remained still, and his cold face now seemed so

upset.

She knew he had been provoked.

Claudia didn't know what she had done wrong.

If Ben was blaming her for Marshall's crush on her, then how about his relationship with Hanna?

Ben stared at her for nearly 30 seconds. Then he opened his mouth and said with a colder tone, “What

medicine did he give you?”

Medicine?

Claudia's eyes lit up. Her lips moved slightly, but she didn't know how to answer.

She could read the growing impatience in Ben's eyes, and he could see her crystal eyes being filled

with worry.

“Sign language!”

He finally gave his orders. The two words came out of his mouth loudly almost stunned Claudia.

She stared at him with a fearful face.

Ben's handsome face looked so grumpy. He gritted his teeth and said, “I can read.”

He could read sign language.

Claudia was confused, but soon the confusion was taken over by disappointment. Now that he could

read sign language, she wondered why he didn’t let her use it?

Maybe that way people would know she was a mute, which would humiliate him.

Claudia took a deep breath. Her slender body moved, and she drew back her hands. Then she signed,

“Medicine for my throat.”

As soon as she said that, Ben looked even angrier.

“What's wrong with your throat?” he asked.

Claudia replied using sign language, “It's just something I got when I was a kid. It won't be a big

problem.”

She would never tell anyone else the old secret that his father died in vain, and she became a mute

because she was poisoned.

She didn't care about Blair and Amber at all. All she cared about was her mother.

Theodore and Blair had the whole Evans family under control now, there was no way that she would

reckon on the reputation of her family and tell Ben the truth.

Ben's eyes got darker. Before he said anything, Conrad tried to reach the plate of fruit on the table. Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

The gap in between was too wide for a baby’s arm.

Claudia immediately panicked when she saw what Conrad was doing. As soon as Ben saw that, he

turned over and grabbed Conrad before he fell off the sofa.

She finally relaxed, and her heart might have lost a beat out of fear.

Ben gave Conrad back to her and lost the intention to continue to ask her. He stood up and got off from

the sofa, and then left with the document, silently.

Claudia sighed with Conrad in her arms. Conrad was too young to understand his mother's hardships.

He touched her face with soft hands and rubbed his cute face on her neck.

On the other side of the city, at the villa of the Evans.

Theodore was working in the study upstairs. As Blair walked in with some hot tea, she frowned at the

pile of documents on his table. Then she asked, “How's our company recently? Is everything going on

well?”

Theodore signed when he heard Blair's question. He raised his head and leaned on the back of the

chair.

“What did Claudia tell you about the CCM program last time you went to see her?” Blair said.

Theodore sighed again, “What did she tell me? She's a mute! She couldn't tell me anything!”

“But she has at least told Ben about the program, right?”

Theodore shook his head. Then he recalled his confrontation with Ben a few days ago in the Villa of the

Crawfords, which made him very angry.

Blair was very good at reading people's facial expressions. She could tell her husband was upset. She

said with a grumpy face, “That ungrateful brat! She had been plotting against us since she was a little

girl! I should've never let her marry Ben if I knew she would be like this!”

“Enough! It's too late to regret!” Theodore knew that Claudia had to marry Ben because of the

testament of old Mrs. Crawford.

That was the only reason why the two were married.

“Did you mention that bitch, Ann?”

Ann was Claudia's birth mother. She had been grounded by Blair in someplace for all these years. Blair

had been using her as leverage to threaten Claudia.

Theodore's brows creased. He said, “I mentioned her, but she wouldn't help me anyway.”

“That ungrateful brat is just like her mother! The two miserable wretches, I'll teach them a lesson if I

have time!”

Blair said that angrily while Theodore was sighing and frowning.

Given the current condition of the Evans Group, if they failed to get the CCM project, their bankrupt

would be just around the corner.

Amber passed by the study and had eavesdropped on the whole conversation between her parents.

She froze at the door, eyes wandering and fists clenching, as if she were holding someone's neck.

Now that Claudia was so ruthless, she wouldn't have any mercy on Claudia, too.

She had to find a way to get rid of Claudia forever...
