Chapter 115
Chapter 115
"This... but it's too many, isn't it?"
Although Coralie was genuinely pleased, it was the first time she laid her eyes on so many lipsticks.
Skylar didn't know how to explain it. "The store assistant recommended me different colors of lipsticks,
but I couldn't tell the difference at all. Since each of them was just about 30 dollars, not expensive
anyway, I decided to buy more."
For he had already bought them, Coralie put down the bag and wrapped her arms around Skylar's
neck. She drew her face close to him and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Thank you, I like them very
much."
She only wanted to kiss him gently, but after she brushed her lips against his cheeks, wanting to pull
herself away, Skylar grabbed onto the back of her head. In no time, he pressed his lips on hers. It
seemed as if he wanted to devour her from the kiss, and he wanted her to know how much he had
missed her in this week.
He only let her go when her cheeks were flushing red.
Coralie returned to the passenger seat and kept stroking her face. It was already winter, but the heat
lingered on her for a long time.
"Where are we going?"
On the contrary, it was easier for Skylar to calm himself down. Then he ignited the car engine.
"Anywhere is fine."
Coralie's mind was still occupied with their kiss. She couldn't think of where to go for a moment.
Skylar's ideas for a date were still the same as it had been six years ago. When they were in college,
Coralie was into the arts. She loved watching movies and occasionally watched a few plays.
"Then let's go to the movies."
As Skylar suggested, he turned the steering wheel and drove the car out of the neighborhood.
......
Skylar took Coralie to the cinema.
Coralie looked at the cinema and was bedazzled by the multitudes of movie posters flashing on the
screens. She recalled that it was probably six years ago when she last went to the cinema. It was also
when she was still in a relationship with Skylar.
In the past, Coralie always thought that Howard was a man without any romance in him. However, it
later dawned on her that it was not because Howard was not romantic, but that he had never spent any
effort on her.
Since it was the holiday season, there were many movies to choose from. However, most of them were
locally-produced films.
"Choose one."
Skylar usually showed his interest only in the classics, so he rarely visited the cinema.
Just like Coralie, the last time he came to the cinema was almost five years ago.
Coralie picked a movie that was recently released. It was a movie portraying a romance in the 80s. Like
any other couple, they bought popcorn and cola before entering the cinema.
However, when Skylar was walking into the cinema, Coralie could hear a girl comment, "That man is so
handsome."
"Yes, is he a celebrity?" NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
In contrast, Coralie was much more inconspicuous. She held the cola in her hands and kept up with
Skylar's footsteps.
The movie was very touching, but the ending was perfect yet imperfect. The lead actor and actress had
been separated for many years because the actress went to teach in the countryside. Later, they built
their own families and had their own children. When both of them grew old, they saw each other at an
exhibition. But they could only glance at each other from a distance.
The movie was over...
That one seemingly perfunctory glance was like an overwhelming confession of their love, which
endured a few decades.
Coming out of the cinema, many of the people in the audience were crying, but not Coralie. Skylar was
a little surprised. "You are not the same as before, when you watch a movie."
As he spoke, his hand pinched on the tissue in the pocket of his trouser unconsciously.
Hearing what he said, Coralie was a little embarrassed. "I've grown up and become more mature now. I
can't be crying all the time."
In the past, Coralie had an inclination to tear up when she watched movies, so Skylar had to keep a
pack of tissue for her whenever they went.
......
When the movie ended, it was almost time for dinner.
Since it was the holiday season, many restaurants were closed. The two of them went to the nearest
restaurant that was still operating.
Perhaps because the holiday was coming to an end and the other shops were not yet in business,
there were many people swarming the restaurant.
The waiter ushered them to their seats. When Coralie and Skylar sat down, the people next to their
table immediately stood up and greeted respectfully, "President Holland."
Coralie lifted her head and saw that the people sitting next to them were Harrison and Alison.
Skylar recognized the two people, so he merely nodded without speaking.
Looking at how Coralie and Skylar were having a meal together, Alison's eyes were burning with anger.
"Huh, Coralie, it seems you're quite capable!"
Although Alison wasn't one of Skylar's subordinates, Harrison was. So when Harrison heard how Alison
had offended Coralie, he was so angry that his face turned green from anxiety. "Shut up. This is our
President's wife. What nonsense are you spouting about!"
Alison looked at Harrison in extreme dissatisfaction. "So what if she's the President's wife? She's my
husband's ex-wife!"
Harrison was stunned when he heard Alison's words. How could he believe that Mrs. Holland was a
divorcee? He quickly corrected her, "Don't talk nonsense."
"Who said I'm spewing any nonsense? You can ask her."
Alison pointed at Coralie, showing no sign of backing down.
Harrison saw that the expression on Skylar's face was ominous and he did not have the audacity to
probe. He raised his hand quickly and said, "Waiter, bill please!"
"Why are we leaving? I haven't eaten yet!"
Alison was indignant. Why did they leave instead of Coralie and Skylar?
"Let's pay the bill and leave now!" After the waiter came over, Harrison did not even ask for the amount.
He just took out a few hundred dollar bills from his wallet and gave them to the waiter, saying, "Keep
the change."
Then he pulled Alison up and was about to leave.
Skylar and Coralie did not speak, but at this time, the people around noticed the situation around them
and turned to watch the scene.
Alison did not leave but went right in front of Coralie and Skylar's table. "Coralie, are you going to
complain to Howard that I am having an affair? I tell you, I'm not afraid. Go ahead and tell him, I'm not
afraid of it."
Alison lashed out, driven by her guilt. Although she was Harrison's lover, she was also aware that
Harrison would never marry her.
There were not many men like Howard who would be stupid enough to divorce his wife.
"Alison, are you mistaken? Why should I tell Howard? What does he have to do with me?"
In the face of Alison's guilty conscience and her unreasonable behavior, Coralie could no longer remain
silent and endure the nonsense.
Moreover, everyone was watching them. There was no way for her to sit back and wait for Skylar to
defend her, so she had to stand up to Alison by herself.
"Humph, he has nothing to do with you? You two were once married. Don't act like you were never
married to him. I visited him once, and he said that once he's released, he will come for you. He's not
afraid of anything since he has no job anyway. He can spend all his time and effort making your life
difficult!"
Alison pointed at Coralie and scoffed, as if she was a shrew swearing on the street.
Alison and Howard, they were the same kind of people. Even when Skylar was by Coralie's side, Alison
didn't dare to direct her outrage at him. With her capability, she only dared to vent her anger on Coralie.
