You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 123

Chapter 123

"As long as it's our child, it's the same for me."

Coralie could not discern anything from such a faultless answer from Skylar. But in the end, it still made

her happy.

Fortunately, Skylar didn't have any preference for the baby's gender.

"By the way, let's buy some stuff for the baby this weekend."

Skylar sat next to Coralie. He wrapped one hand around her waist while his other on her belly. When

he thought of the little life in her belly, and how that child belonged to them, he couldn't help but look

forward to its arrival.

"The weekend? Isn't it too early? I'm only six weeks pregnant."

A woman's pregnancy would last more than 36 weeks! Coralie had only be noticed of the fact that she

was pregnant but Skylar was already one step ahead of her, planning to buy stuff for the baby. It was

still too soon!

Skylar kept insisting. "There are a lot of things a child needs. We are just amassing them slowly in

advance. In that way, we won't have to rush it when you're about to deliver."

Judging by Skylar's every move, Coralie knew that he couldn't wait for this child to arrive in the world.

Since he was the one who proposed, Coralie did not refuse anymore. She nodded and said, "Okay, but

we don't know the baby's gender yet. What color do we pick?"

Blue for a boy and pink for a girl...

This was not a problem for Skylar. He held Coralie's face towards him and gently kissed her on the lips.

"We will just buy anything you like. If we can't use them this time around, we can still use those for our

second baby."

Since they'were barred from having sex within the first three months, Skylar didn't go deeper into this

conversation.

......

Coralie still went to work as usual, but because her colleagues saw her eating the pregnancy meals,

they knew that she was pregnant.

During lunchtime, Valerie sat down and heard a male colleague beside her table saying, "Sigh, she's

pregnant before I had a chance to court her."

"It was fortunate that you didn't do anything. She's already married. What else could you do?"

The other person next to him teased him.

"The main reason is that I found out too late. If it weren't for the annual dinner, I wouldn't have known

about Coralie."

"Beautiful women are more low-key."

"Well, I think she is not only good-looking, but also good-tempered. I have a feeling that Lenora would

pass the hosting job to her in the future."

There were four male colleagues at the table. They were all taking turns evaluating Coralie, and their

appraisal of her was quite high.

Valerie, who was sitting beside them, felt uncomfortable listening to their words.

She knew about Coralie's background. There was nothing special about it. Coralie only graduated from

a regular college, and her work experience was a mess. It was impossible for her to land a job in

Skyton Corporation with her work experience.

However, not only did the colleagues in Skyton Corporation not comment on her work abilities or how

she got into the company, but they were actually praising her?

How could Valerie feel content?

"Valerie, did you hear that? Coralie is quite capable. She managed to attract the male colleagues with

just the annual dinner. It's no wonder that President Holland..."

Lorraine, who was sitting opposite her, whispered when she saw the unnatural look on Valerie's face.

Lorraine worked with Valerie every day. As smart and as perceptive as she was, she could tell that

Valerie liked Skylar. Valerie was just pretending to take everything in calmly. So, Lorraine told Valerie

what was pleasant to her ears and wanted to build a good relationship with her.

It was because Lorraine had discovered that Skylar did not actually hate Valerie.

Listening to Lorraine's words, Valerie still pretended to be big-hearted, "Well, a woman who can receive

affection from Skylar is definitely not bad."

As soon as Lorraine looked at her, she knew that Valerie was pretending. She thought that if she stood

up for Valerie, Valerie would reveal her true self so they could get closer. However, Lorraine didn't

expect that Valerie would act the same in front of everyone, so Lorraine didn't utter any more words.

After being a secretary for so many years, Lorraine was wary of the people she dealt with. Some

people were fine to be close with, whereas some people were better off keeping at an arm's length.

Lorraine knew that she needed to be wary of certain people.

At this time, Joanna sat down with a plate in her hand. Seeing Valerie there, she immediately buttered

up to her. "Hello, Assistant Rae. I am Lorraine's sister. My name is Joanna."

Before entering the company, Valerie looked through the information of the employees at Skyton

Corporation. She naturally knew the relationship between Lorraine and Joanna. Valerie's expression

remained unchanged and she only smiled faintly. "Hello."

"I heard that Coralie is pregnant with President Holland's child. We all feel sorry for you."

Joanna had the same idea as Lorraine, which was to get close to Valerie.

What Joanna didn't know was that her sister had just done the same thing.

However, Joanna was different from her sister. She didn't talk about it in low voice. The male

colleagues who were talking about Coralie just now also heard it and couldn't help looking at their

table.

Valerie didn't want everyone to know the relationship between Coralie and Skylar. Otherwise, what

would Valerie do if she and Skylar got together in the future? What if someone said that she was the

mistress?

Therefore, Valerie simply picked up the plate and said with a smile, "I'm full. You two take your time."

After that, she left.

Looking at Valerie's back, Lorraine finally showed a chagrined expression and said to Joanna, "She's

not even taking us seriously. You can stop trying to get close to her."

"Why?"

Joanna didn't understand. She thought that if she spoke up for Valerie, Valerie should think that she

was good.

"Valerie is the daughter of the Rae family. She graduated from an ivy-league school and is younger

than me. Besides her working experience, her abilities is on par with mine. With her family background

and high EQ, she had no need to get close to us."

Lorraine shut down Joanna's qualms immediately.

......

However, Valerie began to feel uneasy when she knew that Coralie had a good position in the

company, and she was even pregnant now.

In the evening, she went to visit Grandmother Holland's place with some supplements and a few

embroidered handkerchiefs.

Grandmother Holland wasn't staying in Golden Town. Instead, she lived in an old residence of the

Hollands' where there were doctors who monitored her condition every day.

When Valerie arrived, she saw that there was a fancy coat hanging at the door.

At first glance, she knew it was Lillian's. Valerie's beautiful red lips curled up slightly, revealing a

cunning smile.

"Valerie, you're here."

When Lillian saw Valerie coming, Lillian immediately got up and greeted her like a host.

Grandmother Holland was sitting on the sofa and did not get up. When she saw Valerie coming, she

just nodded slightly.

"Grandma, I have something for you. Here are some embroidered handkerchiefs. Do you like them?"

Valerie handed the supplements to the servant while she took out a few beautiful wooden boxes,

walked toward Grandmother Holland, and opened them.

Inside lay pieces of silk handkerchiefs embroidered with birds, flowers, and animals.

One of the handkerchiefs was embroidered with a little kitten. Although it was not big, it was lifelike.

Grandmother Holland took the handkerchief and caressed it in her hand. She nodded and said, "Well,

this is nice. I'll take this. You can keep the rest." NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

Grandmother Holland was not the same as Lillian. She would not accept everything indiscriminately.
