Chapter 383
Chapter 383
Valerie was guiding Finley to get rid of the obstacles for her.
Finley was stunned. He couldn't understand Valerie's hidden meaning at all. He answered impatiently,
"Skyton Corporation? What Skyton Corporation? What does Skyton Corporation have to do with me?
Even Bill Gates spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on a meal, but can I do anything about it?"
"Bill Gates is abroad, but Skyton Corporation is a domestic company, and his family lives around us.
You can steal the diamond ring from the fiancee of Skyton Corporation's President and sell it for tens of
millions of dollars."
Valerie knew that Finley was dumb, so it was useless to give him any hints. She would need to say it to
him directly.
Finley listened for a while, and he finally understood her words slightly. But he was not a fool either.
"Miss Rae, why should I take this risk? I just asked you for five million. Are you giving me or not? If you
don't, I will turn myself in!"
"Go ahead. At worst, I will be in prison. My family will not spend any money on you, but they are willing
to spend on me. Even if I do go to prison, I will not be there for long."
Valerie knew that since Finley had threatened her, she could only do the same.
Since he had nothing to lose, she would use him to her advantage.
Sure enough, after hearing what Valerie said, Finley suddenly became silent. He believed that Valerie
would always be threatened by him, but he did not expect Valerie to ask him to turn himself in.
However, Finley was not frightened easily and said, "Turn me in, right? I will do that now. Just wait for
the police to find you!"
"Go ahead. I'm waiting."
After that, Valerie hung up the phone.
It was a sleepless night.
While Valerie was deeply troubled by Finley, Coralie and Skylar were also in a sticky situation.
Early in the morning, Lillian rushed to the entrance of Skylar's villa at the Golden Town Community.
Knock, knock, knock!
She did not have the password to enter Skylar's villa, nor did she have an access card. She could only
knock on the door.
Although Coralie knew that the person who came might be Lillian, she still came down to open the
door, considering Skylar's leg had just recovered.
The moment she unlocked the door, Lillian kicked the door open vigorously and walked into the villa.
"Auntie... You are..."
Coralie saw Lillian holding a can of gasoline in her hand.
Before she could finish her sentence, Lillian had poured gasoline on Coralie's body. After that, she
poured gasoline on herself!
"Coralie, you b*tch. I have said before that if you want to be a part of the Holland family, you will need
to step over my dead body!"
As Lillian said that, she continued to pour the remaining gasoline onto herself.
Then, she took out a lighter from her pocket.
"Auntie, please calm down!"
Coralie was scared out of her wits. She was terrified that Lillian would light the lighter.
If she had lit the lighter, they would both be set on fire instantly!
"Mom! What are you doing!"
Skylar walked down in a hurry. He smelled gasoline permeating the room and saw Coralie and Lillian
standing there; both of their bodies were wet. The light yellow gasoline dripped down from the corner of
their clothes.
"Son, if I don't burn this woman to death today, I don't think you will ever realize!" Lillian stared at
Coralie angrily. "You do not want such a good lady as Valerie, but you want to marry this woman! What
is so good about her?"
"Mom, do you really have to do this?"
Skylar wanted to walk forward.
When he was about to make his way to Coralie's side, Lillian suddenly raised the lighter in her hand
and said, "Do not come closer! You must promise me that you will kick her out and not marry her, or the
both of us will die today!" "Auntie..." "Do not call me! If it wasn't for you, I would have a good
relationship with my son. He had always been the son I have been proud of. He had always listened to
me. But ever since you came, everything changed!"
As Lillian spoke, her eyes were a little red.
"Then you can light it, and burn me together. The three of us can burn ourselves to death here."
As Skylar spoke, he walked straight to Coralie's side and held her in his arms. He was also covered in
gasoline.
"Skylar, you're crazy. Just leave quickly. Auntie's mood is unstable now. What if..."
Coralie wanted to push Skylar away, but he was too strong for her.
Lillian did not expect her son to act this way. "You would die for her? Son, I have carried you for 10
months and given you life. How could you disobey me? And now you want to lose your life for this
woman?"
As she spoke, she sat on the floor and began to bawl her eyes out.
"Auntie, please get up first. Let’s talk calmly..."
"Coralie, go and change your clothes." Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
Looking at Lillian, Coralie did not want Skylar to be caught in the middle. She wanted to comfort Lilian,
but was stopped by Skylar.
Skylar pushed Coralie aside, then lowered his head and asked Lillian, "What do you actually want?
What do you want me to do?"
She must have had an ulterior motive for making a scene today.
Lillian raised her head and looked at Skylar. She sobbed and said, "I want you to marry Valerie. Valerie
lost her leg because she tried to save Coralie and Mrs. Zac disapproves of her. If you do not take
responsibility for Valerie, no one will take responsibility for her. What she did yesterday was because
she cared about you!"
"Jasper and Valerie are about to get engaged, but yet you are still making a scene here?"
Skylar immediately felt a little upset upon hearing what Lilian said.
"Impossible! Valerie told me yesterday that the Zac family does not agree to the marriage between her
and Young Master Zac."
Lillian completely believed in Valerie and did not believe Skylar's words.
She thought Skylar was trying to speak up for Coralie.
Hearing this, Coralie knew that the thing in her hands could no longer stay hidden.
If Lillian was telling the truth, then it was Valerie's sheer stroke of a fluke. In that case, there was no
need to sympathize with Valerie anymore.
Coralie took out her mobile phone from her pocket and saw that it could still be used. She quickly
forwarded the encrypted email to Skylar.
After forwarding it, she tugged at Skylar's sleeve and whispered in his ear, "Skylar, I have sent
something to your email. Have a look at it, and then let Auntie take a look. Maybe she will change her
mind."
Coralie knew that Skylar's words were more convincing than hers.
"Alright."
Skylar did not ask what it was, but he knew it must be the same thing from the engagement party the
day before.
It was the same thing that made Valerie knelt on the floor to beg for mercy.
"What are you two talking about?"
When Lillian saw them whispering to each other, she thought they were plotting against her, which
made her a little unhappy.
"Mom, be patient. There are some things that we did not want to tell you at first, but now it seems that
you must know."
As Skylar spoke, he walked up the stairs.
His mobile phone was upstairs.
