Chapter 396
Chapter 396
"Annual meeting?"
"I attended the annual meeting..."
Although it was an awkward situation, Coralie took the initiative to admit it.
"It was you? Impossible. I have seen the photos from before. She was still wearing the blue dress from
a few years ago."
Hazel did not believe that it was Coralie who went to the annual meeting.
That dress was completely different from Coralie's style, who did not prefer luxury brands.
"Hazel, you investigated me?" Hearing this, Skylar was completely enraged. He swept a glance at
Hazel, "Pack up your things and leave. You don't have to come in tomorrow."
As soon as his words fell, the office fell silent.
Lorraine was the first to react. She immediately said, "President Holland, although Hazel had not
worked in Skyton Corporation for a long time, she has contributed to us greatly."
"Does it give her the right to investigate me?"
Skylar asked instead.
"President Holland, you think too highly of me. I am merely concerned about your marital status." Upon
hearing that Skylar was about to fire her, Hazel immediately explained herself.
If she left Skyton Corporation, she would become a total stranger to Skylar.
It will be impossible for her to have any further moves on Skylar anymore.
"My marital status is that my wife and I are engaged and we are planning to hold a wedding ceremony
at the end of this year. Do you understand now?"
Skylar glanced at Hazel and answered word by word. His expression was very serious and he did not
look like he was only brushing her off.
"I understand."
Hazel was not foolish. If she wanted to stay at Skyton Corporation, she should not speak any further.
She went out holding the files.
Lorraine followed her out in a hurry.
"Alright, let's go."
Seeing that the matter had been resolved, Skylar tugged Coralie towards the elevator.
While waiting for the elevator, Coralie heard Hazel slamming the door loudly from behind, as she was
losing her temper.
"Jayson!"
Skylar stood in front of the elevator and called out.
"President Holland."
Jayson walked over quickly.
"Tell Hazel that if she does not want to work anymore, she is welcomed to leave."
"Yes."
Skylar's words were his order. After Jayson replied, he immediately went to Hazel's office.
In the office, Hazel sat on a chair and placed both her feet on the table. She did not care about how
others would look at her as she was enraged right now.
"Assistant Lowell, who was that woman? Where did that pretentious b*tch came from? President
Holland is such a smart man. Why can't he see through her disguise?"
When Hazel saw Jayson coming in, she immediately made a fuss.
"I'm afraid you have some misunderstanding about Miss Chariott."
Jayson did not address Coralie as Mrs. Holland yet. He intended to have a peaceful chat with Hazel
calmly.
"Misunderstanding? Doesn't President Holland have any requirements for his future wife?" Hazel
huffed.
"Miss Meyer, looking for one's other half is not the same as hiring an employee. Why would there be
any requirements?"
In fact, Jayson himself didn't quite understand what Hazel meant.
"Who is this Miss Chariott? How did she charm President Holland in such a short time? I don't think she
has a job, does she? Such a woman! How could President Holland..."
Hazel stopped speaking.
She had always felt that if Skylar has requirements for his partner, she would meet his requirements
best.
However, never did she expect that Skylar did not have any requirements for his other half!
"Miss Meyer, President Holland met Miss Chariott when they were in college. Although there were
some misunderstandings between them for two years, they are still together in the end."
Jayson told Hazel what he knew.
Hazel was taken aback. "What about Valerie?"
"The Rae family and the Holland family are family friends. They were close to each other when they
were still kids."
Jayson explained plainly. He did not like to gossip about others.
"But, Coralie is too..." Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
"Miss Meyer, let me give you a piece of advice. If you want to continue working in Skyton Corporation,
it is better for you to give up on President Holland."
After saying that, Jayson turned and left.
In his opinion, if he had to choose, Coralie would be more suitable for Skylar when compared to Hazel.
Skylar and Coralie went straight to the first floor.
The driver was waiting for them downstairs.
"Did Hazel say something to you just now?" Skylar asked.
When Skylar entered the room and felt the tension between Hazel and Coralie, he knew that there
must have been a dispute between them.
"She just thinks that you are better off with someone else."
Holding Skylar's arm, Coralie felt somewhat sullen.
It seemed that many people had thought Skylar would be better off with someone outstanding,
someone other than her.
"I have said it before, I will choose my own wife." Skylar did not bother about it too much. He looked at
Coralie's bare fingers before saying, "Why aren't you wearing the ring?"
Perhaps if she had worn the ring on that day, she would not encounter so many problems.
"I'm afraid of death..."
"Afraid of death?" Skylar gave her a funny look.
"That's right. What if someone cuts my hands off in order to rob the ring? Many robbers rip off the
victim's ears to rob their earrings..."
After all, the ring was incredibly high profile. Although it was not like a golden egg, with its high purity, it
was radiant and easily recognizable.
"Go to Juvene Jewelry."
Hearing Coralie's words, Skylar instructed the driver immediately.
"Why?"
Coralie wondered what Skylar was planning to do.
Skylar intertwined his fingers with hers, lifted her hand and kissed them gently. He said, "Let's buy a
low profile ring."
"I don't think it's necessary. Why do I need so many rings?"
"It's decided."
Skylar knew that Coralie was going to reject him again.
Juvene Jewelry was considered to be the largest jewelry brand in A City. There were many famous
designer series in this brand.
However, when Coralie got out of the car, she saw that the store was empty. There was not a customer
in sight.
It was a sharp contrast with several brands selling clothes or bags nearby.
"Are they closed?"
As Coralie asked, two shop assistants walked out and opened the glass door.
When they reached the door, the shop assistant said respectfully, "President Holland, Mrs. Holland,
welcome."
"I thought the store was closed," Coralie said.
She entered the store and saw that it looked exactly like what she had expected. There were a total of
five shop assistants and zero guests.
"Mrs. Holland, the price of our brand is..."
"There's no need for introductions."
Initially, the shop assistant wanted to brag about the pricing level of their brand. Whenever they
mentioned it, it would satisfy their female customer's vanity as they would feel like they were at the top
of the pyramid.
Skylar already knew what they were going to say, thus he interrupted.
"Take us to the VIP area for selection."
Skylar told the shop assistant straightforwardly.
"Sure. President Holland, Mrs. Holland, please come with me."
The shop assistant took them to the second floor, which was the VIP area. The interior was the same
as the place where they saw the raw diamonds before and the jewelry were all displayed in transparent
cabinets. There were couple rings and individual rings.
"Why are they not priced? Is it normal in such high-end stores?"
Coralie frowned. She looked at them carefully. There were so many rings on the second floor, but none
of them were labeled with a price.
There were only small signs in front of the rings, but names were written instead of prices.
