Chapter 432
Chapter 432
"What are you doing?"
Earlier, Franklin had wanted to leave and he didn't look towards Lucille's direction. Needless to say, he
did not expect Amelia to approach him with the intention to slap him.
Lucille took the slap for him. Yet, Franklin did not look pained. Instead, a trace of hatred flashed across
his face.
"Franklin Moore, those years you had chased my daughter so passionately, but now you've betrayed
her! What kind of man are you?"
Amelia's hands were trembling in anger.
Yoel was even more delighted to stand by and watch the whole ruckus.
Speaking of which, the person whom Yoel hated the most in A City was Franklin Moore.
That was because his dream was to become a man like Franklin, who had slept with all of the female
celebrities and changed his girlfriends like he changed his clothes. It was better than how Yoel was,
depending on rich middle-aged women to survive.
"Auntie Harington, I truly liked her, but why should I not enjoy a good life and help her go to prison? If
she doesn't want to go to jail, why would I?"
Franklin looked at Amelia mockingly.
Franklin paid no attention to Lucille who had taken the slap for him. There was even an imprint of a
palm on her face!
Seeing this, Coralie felt a little unhappy. She could clearly see from Lucille's expression that she was
feeling very aggrieved.
She looked at Franklin with a look of expectation. It seemed that she was hoping for his concern, but
Franklin did not say anything.
Just as Coralie was about to walk over, Yoel, who stood the nearest, was one step ahead and pulled
Lucille aside. He said, "President Moore, this lady took a slap for you. Aren't you going to thank her?"
As he said that, he gently touched Lucille's face. "Does it hurt? I'll help you find some ice for it later."
Yoel's tone was very gentle, as if he was protecting a treasure.
Lucille was still very young and it was clear that she was still innocent. When she saw how close Yoel
was to her, and how he was speaking to her in such a tone, she immediately blushed.
When he saw her like this, Yoel couldn't help but raise the corner of his lips, revealing a charming
smile.
"Huh, Auntie Harington, is he really a lawyer? Isn't he one of your boy toys?"
Franklin finally couldn't bear to see it anymore. He grabbed Lucille by her sleeve and pulled her over to
his side.
Hearing Franklin's words, Amelia could no longer keep a straight face. "Yoel, mind your own business.
Why did you stick your nose in other people's business?"
"Okay, I just couldn't stand it anymore."
Yoel said as he glanced longingly at Lucille before he took a step back.
However, he quickly saw Coralie and Skylar at the back. Yoel's memory was good and he immediately
recognized them as Xenia's friends.
Yoel returned to his own seat and tidied up his things in order to keep up his act.
Amelia felt upset at the thought of Yoel's concern for Lucille earlier. As she turned to look at Lucille,
who stood next to Franklin looking delicate and pitiful, she felt that Lucille was a b*tch.
"Franklin Moore! You are forgetting your old love when you now have a new lover. Even if you are not
together, you used to love my daughter. What right do you have to hurt her so much?"
At that moment, Amelia could only vent her anger on Franklin!
"Auntie Harington, you are mistaken. She was not my old love. I was just used by her."
Franklin was very accurate about his position.
When he saw Valerie's earlier outburst, he realized that his job here was accomplished. After he spoke,
he turned to leave.
"Franklin Moore!"
Amelia was completely enraged!
Franklin did not pay any mind to her at all. He just took a few steps and saw that Lucille still foolishly
stood there. He turned his head impatiently and said, "If you don't want to go, just stay here then."
Only then did Lucille react. She quickly picked up the bag on the chair and ran out with a silly smile,
trailing after Franklin.
Coralie watched from the side and was a little shocked. "Did Franklin treat Lucille like this last time?"
"Last time, his parents were around, so he was faking it." Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Skylar was right about them. Franklin and Lucille had a very distant relationship and Skylar had
proposed a very reasonable explanation.
"But I think that this lady is very nice. She is much better than those model girlfriends Franklin used to
date. Why is he like this..."
Coralie was a little angry and took a few steps to head out.
Although she did not know Lucille, she still couldn't help but want to seek justice for her.
Skylar didn't know what Coralie was thinking. He thought that Coralie was merely going to leave, so he
followed her out.
"President Holland, Mrs. Holland."
Coralie and Skylar had just left when someone called out to them.
It was Yoel.
Yoel ran up to the two of them in a few steps and bowed slightly.
After he had asked someone earlier, he found out that they were not just 'Xenia's friends'. They were
the president of the Skyton Corporation's and the president's wife!
It was impossible for Yoel to get in touch with people of this level. Since he'd met them this time, he
wouldn't let go of this opportunity!
"What's the matter?"
Skylar looked at Yoel.
What Franklin had said earlier refreshed Skylar's memory. He had investigated Yoel's background
before and had also looked into his actions.
Skylar had the impression that Yoel was someone who relied on women to earn money.
"You two are Xenia's friends. Since I've met you, naturally, I should come and say hello."
Yoel introduced himself with a sense of familiarity.
Hearing Yoel's words, Coralie felt a little amused and couldn't help but ask, "Who are you to Xenia?
Why are you greeting us?"
"I'm her..." Yoel thought for a moment before replying, "Pursuer."
"Her pursuer?" Coralie had always stood on Harvey's side, so she replied, "Xenia already has a
boyfriend and you're still pursuing her? Do you have any morals?"
In her opinion, it was not wrong to like a person, but knowing that that person was already taken, he
should keep a distance from her!
Coralie had encountered something like this one too many times.
No matter if it was Valerie Rae or Hazel Meyer, they were both such people.
"I know that. I had met her on the day that she met her boyfriend's mother. She didn't have a good talk
with her, so Xenia vented her anger on my car."
Yoel said with a smile.
This also indirectly meant that he knew about the breakup between Xenia and Harvey.
"Even so, she's only obligated to compensate you for the repair fees. Don't pester her."
"That's between me and her. Thank you for your concern, Mrs. Holland."
Yoel declined Coralie's concern in a very euphemistic way.
Coralie did not know what to say because of his words of gratitude. She had seen Lucille blush
because of Yoel's words. Amelia had also been deluded by him and had hired him to be a lawyer for
Valerie.
Coralie was really afraid that Xenia would also fall for him and later be deceived as well.
However, at that moment, Skylar pulled Coralie into his arms and said, "Don't be afraid. Xenia is a
smart person. She'll realize who's a liar instantly."
After that, the two immediately walked past Yoel to leave.
The results of the second trial came out. Because of Franklin's stand as a witness and because Valerie
had lost control, she had indirectly admitted that she was the one who had escaped 11 years ago.
Due to the kidnapping and the accident at that time, Valerie was sentenced to 16 years in jail.
The verdict was read out in the detention center. At that time, in addition to Valerie, Hector and Amelia
were also present.
