You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 442

Chapter 442

"It seems like he went into the wrong ward."

Yoel didn't recognize Coralie at first, but as soon as she looked up, Yoel immediately recognized that

she was actually Xenia's friend!

He suddenly regretted speaking to Coralie.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

Coralie wanted to ask Yoel what was wrong, but she decided to hold back after thinking about it.

After all, this man was too suspicious, and others' affairs had nothing to do with her. Therefore, Coralie

proceeded to take her things and went out in a hurry.

However, Coralie didn't return to Lilian's ward immediately after going out. Instead, she just stood in the

corridor and looked around the property for a while. She was worried that if there was too much, she'd

have to ask the doctor.

"Click-clack, click-clack."

The loud clatter of high heels filled the quiet corridor.

Coralie looked up and saw a woman in a dress walking over. She had on a plain long coat, showing

just a little of her calf and a pair of black high heels.

"Valerie's mother?" She thought to herself.

Coralie had seen Amelia a few times before, so she could recognize her at a glance.

She quickly stepped back and tried to cover her face with the laboratory test results.

Amelia walked very quickly and did not pay any attention to anyone along the corridor. She walked past

Coralie and went straight into the room where Coralie had previously entered by mistake.

"Is she here to see the lawyer?"

Coralie just stood there, thinking that since Yoel had lost the lawsuit, why did Amelia still come to see

him?

She suddenly felt that this was much more complicated than she thought it was.

With a hint of curiosity within her, Coralie moved closer to the door of the ward. It was a perfect

distance, so she could hear the conversation going on inside.

In the ward, Amelia saw that Yoel was lying on the bed, all bandaged from head to toe, with his

handsome face still swollen. Her heart ached for him.

"Did my husband do it? How could he beat you up?"

Amelia walked closer to Yoel's side. Looking at his current condition, she felt an inexplicable pain in her

heart.

"I'm fine," he said.

As Yoel looked at Amelia, he felt both impatient and disgusted towards her. However, when he recalled

the promise he had made to Hector the day before, he let these thoughts slide away.

Hector had visited the hospital the day before, with a pile of information from a private detective. He

had come to discuss the conditions with Yoel as he partially coerced him to accept the conditions.

Yoel wanted to have nothing to do with this anymore, but Hector had come forward to him with these

things.

It was no longer up to him to decide.

"How can you be fine? How could he have hit you so hard?"

Amelia's tone was full of warmth.

Yoel looked at the woman in front of him, who was over 50 years old and still relatively charming. If it

was in the past, he would've surely said something pleasant, but as of now, he couldn't utter a single

word.

However, he still had to fulfill the promise he had made to Hector.

"Auntie Harington, does your husband have a tendency to be violent? I'm really worried about you if

you stay with him like this."

Yoel was blunt and straightforward. He was clear that his only goal was to get Amerlia to divorce

Hector.

He decided not to implement the method he had used in the past. This time, he would stand in Amelia's

shoes and try to get her to divorce Hector.

"He's..." Amelia sighed deeply when she heard this. Her eyelids drooped as she continued, "He would

definitely not use physical violence against me. He has only ever used emotional abuse."

"Emotional abuse?"

"Yes, he doesn't even talk to me now. Ever since Valerie's accident, he has not been himself, and

wanted so badly to let Valerie be dealt with by the court. Just because I disagreed with that, he's giving

me the silent treatment."

Amelia's tone was filled with sorrow.

"It's his daughter after all... How could he do this? I was wondering why he didn't even appear in court

during the case." Yoel was very good at sowing dissension because he had been interacting with

wealthy women for a long time. He looked at Amelia with a sympathetic expression and said, "If he was

willing to help back then, you wouldn't have had to hire me. Who knows, your daughter might still be

able to..."

"No one was willing to help us... We were against Skylar..."

Amelia shook her head in defeat.

"Of course not, everyone didn't dare to help because it was you who had sought it. Even if you're

Hector's wife, your status and influence would never be equal to his. If he had sought for help himself,

others might've been more willing to help."

Yoel was just talking nonsense. He wasn't even sure if others would actually be more willing to help if

Hector was the one asking for it.

However, his only purpose was to sow the seed of hatred.

And it seemed like he had succeeded.

Amelia's eyes widened in realization when she heard this. She was bewildered!

"Yeah, if he had stepped in, those friends might have helped him to think of a way, and Valerie might

not have needed to go to jail..."

"Yes, he didn't fulfill his duty as a father in this matter at all."

Yoel continued with his mission.

"Yes, everything had been alright before this happened, but now, he doesn't seem to care about this

matter at all!"

Tears built up in Amelia's eyes as she spoke.

A teardrop fell onto her makeup-caked cheek.

Yoel looked at her dissolving makeup and his eyes filled with disgust.

When he thought of the other women whom he'd flirted with, who were even worse than Amelia... He

wondered how on earth did he manage to do it back then.

At this moment, Amelia's cell phone rang.

Amelia answered the phone inside. However, when she put down the phone, her face, which had

already turned red from crying, turned very pale.

"What's wrong?" Yoel asked.

"Skylar is going too far! He said that a few days ago, he obtained evidence that Valerie had intended to

kill back then!"

Amelia collapsed into a chair, feeling helpless.

"What are you looking at?"

When Coralie heard this, Skylar suddenly appeared out of nowhere and patted her shoulder.

"Ah..."

Coralie was startled when she looked up and saw Skylar.

She had just heard Amelia talking about Skylar, and he had then appeared right in front of her.

"Auntie Harington, don't worry. Let's find a way together."

"What are you going to do? Is Skylar going to harass Valerie to death?"

"Valerie may be sentenced to life imprisonment, but will be eligible for parole after 20 years. Your

daughter has already been sentenced for sixteen years..."

The voices of Yoel and Amelia could be heard from the ward. Yoel's intentions were clear. It had

already been sixteen years, so what was another four years.

After hearing the conversation, Skylar then asked Coralie, "Did you always have these eavesdropping NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

habits?"

"No... I was just curious. Didn't Yoel pursue Xenia before? I'm afraid that he'll deceive Xenia."

Coralie had always been eager to know something. She just didn't expect to overhear something this

big.

"Xenia is very smart. You don't have to worry about her."

Skylar then left with Coralie. He was worried that Amelia would suddenly come out and see him, and

she would definitely do something stupid here.

He would be creating even more trouble for Harvey if that happened.

"This Yoel guy seems to be a liar," Coralie remarked as she walked, "Although he hadn't said it clearly

just now, I could hear that he wanted to persuade Amelia to get a divorce."
