Chapter 469
Chapter 469
If Anthony and Lillian had wanted a peaceful divorce, it didn't matter if he gave her 100 million, let alone
300 million. After all, Anthony had worked hard to earn this money.
Furthermore, this had nothing to do with Lillian.
Over the years, Lillian had only lived her life as a rich wife in A City and she had not sacrificed much for
him.
However, Anthony was the one who had made a mistake.
Anthony knew that he was the one who was in the wrong, so he knew that it would be hard to
negotiate. Therefore, he picked up the premarital agreement and read it carefully. After reading it, he
said, "If she agrees to my terms, I will ask Evelyn to sign this agreement when she is back."
"Oh? Then I'll ask Mom." Skylar remembered that Lillian had said that if Anthony didn't agree to the
agreement, the alternative was for him to sign the premarital agreement.
He went into a guest room and called Lillian. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
On the other end of the phone, Lillian agreed to this without hesitation.
Even if Anthony didn't give her money, it wouldn't be too bad for her if she still had Skylar's care. Her
goal was mainly to make things difficult for Evelyn.
After a while, Skylar came over and said, "She agreed. Then, you and Evelyn can sign this."
"Alright."
Anthony had reluctantly agreed because he knew what kind of woman Evelyn was.
If Evelyn saw this agreement, she would turn the world upside down.
Seeing that he had agreed, Skylar stood up and stated, "Alright, I'll be leaving now. Coralie is going to
give birth very soon, so I don't have the time nor energy to worry about all these things. I want to see
the signed agreement within three days."
"Sure."
Anthony used to be arrogant and confident, but it seemed that he had lost every ounce of this when it
came to this matter. Skylar felt extremely disappointed in him.
When Skylar was leaving, he saw Evelyn, who was carrying a pile of luxury paper bags, walking back
joyously.
When she saw Skylar standing at the door, she put on a charming smile and asked, "President
Holland, what are you doing here?" Skylar looked at her and walked past her without giving any
response or expression.
Evelyn had bought a lot of things and was in a good mood. Thus, she didn't bother with Skylar and
entered her room.
She put her things on the table and began to act like a spoiled child as she said, "Dear, I'm exhausted
and my feet are so sore."
Anthony had already put the divorce agreement and premarital agreement on the table. He did not
have the mood to respond to Evelyn when he thought about what was going to happen next.
Because Anthony didn't respond, she changed into slippers and went to him unwillingly. She saw the
agreements and asked, "What's wrong?"
Anthony took a deep breath and said, "Baby, sign this. If you sign this, I can divorce my wife."
"What is this?" Evelyn felt delighted when she heard this, so she came over to look at it immediately.
However, when she saw the title "premarital agreement" written on the paper, her expression quickly
fell. "What does this mean?"
"Baby, don't you want to marry me? If you sign this, I will divorce my wife and we can get married."
Anthony was so possessive of Evelyn. Even though he knew that she only wanted his money, he still
was willing to accept that.
"Are you kidding me? You are divorcing her, so why should I sign this? What does it have to do with
me?"
Evelyn was burning with anger. She wanted to pretend to be smiling, but she couldn't even force
herself to.
"She is now asking me to sign this in order for me to divorce her. Otherwise, I'll have to give her half of
my property," Anthony replied helplessly.
"Why? She doesn't contribute to anything and doesn't care about business. Who knows if she had
cheated on you? How dare she ask for half of your property?"
Evelyn was not convinced. She thought that the divorce could be done by paying alimony, but she
didn't expect that Lillian would ask for such compensation.
"Don't you want to marry me? I can give you money too when we're together. What's the difference?"
"But what if you die and all the money will be given to Skylar? Then what about me? How am I
supposed to survive?"
This was Evelyn's main concern. Even though Anthony looked healthy, they still had a huge age gap
and Anthony would definitely be the one to pass away first.
She had to think about her future.
"Then I can buy a house for you and I will leave you some gold bars too. If you spend wisely, there
would be no problems for the rest of your life. Besides, when the time comes, our son can also set up
his own company..."
In order to get Evelyn to sign the agreement, Anthony had made a good plan for her. By right, after he
died, even if Evelyn's life was not as good as before, she would not be homeless or starving.
"I don't agree! Don't even think about it!" Evelyn refused decisively.
Anthony had been nice and patient, but he did not expect Evelyn to be so unappreciative. He slammed
his palm on the table and shouted, "You don't agree? If you don't agree, then just abort this baby and
go back to your own place!"
"You..." Evelyn did not expect Anthony to be so fierce. Tears welled up in her eyes and she slapped her
own stomach frantically. " All men are liars! Back then, you said it so nicely that you would marry me,
treat me nicely... It's all a lie! I want to go die!"
"Alas... D-Don't hit our baby!" Anthony's heart went soft when he saw her slapping her own child. He
quickly went over and grabbed hold of Evelyn's hand. "I was just anxious. I want to marry you but this is
her only requirement. What can I do?"
"Why should you listen to whatever she says? She's a girl from the village so what does she know? It
must be your son's idea. He was afraid that you would marry me, and lose all of his property, so he
took this excuse to have this agreement made." Evelyn found that it was a good chance, so she
immediately leaned on Anthony and kept crying.
"How about this... You sign it first. Let's solve this problem first. We'll think about the property transfer
later." Anthony was trying to comfort her.
"Really?" Evelyn immediately felt that this plan was feasible.
"Yes, really. My heart is all yours, you must believe me," Anthony said as he held Evelyn in his arms,
intending to kiss her.
"The doctor said we should not have any romantic activities during pregnancy." Evelyn moved
backwards as soon as she saw that Anthony was going to initiate it.
"The doctor said that it's only for 3 months."
As Anthony spoke, he pressed Evelyn onto the large sofa and lowered his head to kiss her.
He didn't notice that although Evelyn appeared as if she was playing hard to get, her face was actually
filled with disgust and resistance.
That night, Skylar printed out the premarital agreement that Marcellus had revised and brought it home.
Skylar entered the room and called Coralie over. He took the agreement out of the file and handed it to
Coralie. "Come, sign this."
"What is it?"
When Coralie spoke, she looked at the papers. When she saw the title "premarital agreement" written
on the paper, her expression froze.
However, she quickly concealed her disappointment and unease. She picked up a pen, flipped to the
last page and signed her name on it.
After that, she pushed the agreement back to Skylar and said, "I've signed it."
