Chapter 490
Chapter 490
Lucille quickly closed the Twitter.
They were divorced now, so his affairs had nothing to do with her. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Even though she thought so, she still felt very sad.
Sure enough, he meant it when he said 'impossible'.
"Ms. Jules, the results are out."
Lucille had just put her phone away when she heard the nurse called her name.
"I'm here." Lucille quickly stood up and went into the room to get the examination results.
The nurse gave her the results of the two tests and said, "Your next appointment is a month later, don't
forget."
After she took the results, she looked at the time and went straight to the gallery.
It was not 10.30am yet, but the door of the gallery was open. It was obvious that Zoel had arrived.
Lucille quickly went in. He was looking at the paintings in the gallery with a big- bellied customer and
his secretary.
"Mr. Parker, I'm sorry, I'm late."
Although it was not time for work yet, as the customer had arrived, Lucille still apologized
unconsciously.
"No, it was me who made an early appointment with Mr. Andrews." Zoel waved his hand. "You can go
and change your clothes first."
After Lucille put her bag and jacket in the dressing room and came out, she heard that the customer,
Mark Andrews, and Zoel had already chosen the paintings.
"Just these few pieces, and I also want a few small landscape paintings," Mark said.
Zoel heard this and quickly pointed to a small landscape painting in the gallery, asking, "Is this okay?"
"It's too big. I want A4 sized paintings to be displayed at smaller places." Mark shook his head.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Andrews. We don't have that size for the time being, but I can ask the artist to rush a few
pieces for you."
"Rush them? When will I get them? I'm opening my business next week. It's okay if you don't have
them. I will go somewhere else to buy them." Mark was a little unhappy upon hearing Zoel's words.
"Mr Andrew, it won't be long. How many pieces do you need?"
"Forget it, you don't have a sample that I can look at. If I don't like the outcome, my place would be
empty."
At this time, Mark seemed to have decided on buying the paintings from another gallery.
Lucille stood next to him. After listening for a while, she went forward and took a risk to ask, "Mr.
Andrews, are.. Are watercolor paintings okay?"
"Watercolor?"
It was only then that Mark noticed her.
"Yes, if you have time, I can draw a piece for you now, and it will only take thirty minutes." When she
spoke, she was a little nervous.
She did not know whether it was right or wrong for her to be so rash.
Zoel looked at Lucille with a dissatisfied expression, but now that Mark was leaving, he could only take
a risk and he introduced Lucille, "Mr. Andrews, this is one of the special artists in our gallery. Although
she is young, her technique is very sophisticated. If you are able to give her thirty minutes, you will
definitely be satisfied."
"Thirty minutes is too long. Mr. Andrews has something to do later."
Before Mark could speak, the secretary spoke first.
"Then... What about twenty minutes?" Lucille said nervously.
Any shorter, and it would not be enough time for her to draw.
Mark looked at Lucille. He found that she was young and her palm- sized face was still youthful. Just
after saying a few words, her face turned a little red.
He opened his mouth and said, "Fifteen minutes."
"Fifteen minutes..." Lucille was a little hesitant, but she could only take the risk. "Okay, fifteen minutes."
Fortunately, the watercolors were sold at a discounted price, therefore she bought a box of them.
They came in handy now.
Lucille took out a sheet of watercolor paper, and Zoel helped her with the tools.
"Fifteen minutes. Can you do it?" Zoel was also an artist, therefore he was a little worried.
Although a water-colored painting could be done swiftly, fifteen minutes was still short.
"It's alright. I'll draw something that I have drawn before." Lucille had a good plan.
Mark, his secretary and Zoel watched her from the side.
She began to draw from the first step. Because of the short amount of time, she remembered a flower
basket painting that she used to practice in the past. She did not even draw the draft and began to
paint directly.
Time ticked by, one second at a time.
Zoel, who stood by the side, watched Lucille's skilled coloring, blending, and finally, finishing.
Everything was done in one go.
No one spoke during the entire process, and even Mark was entranced.
She managed to complete the painting in fifteen minutes.
"Good! I did not expect that this young lady could draw so well at such a young age."
Mark was a layman, but he could not help but applaud when he saw the painting turn into a beautiful
flower basket from a piece of white paper little by little.
Mark's secretary saw that he liked it and also clapped her hands. "I did not expect you to have such a
talented person working with you, Mr. Parker."
"Wait a minute."
When everyone thought that the painting was completed, Lucille spoke.
She ran to the pile of painting tools and found a small bag. She took out some particles and sprinkled
them on the painting.
Soon, all the small particles melted into the painting, forming irregular shapes and textures.
All of a sudden, the painting became more vivid because of these particles.
"What is that?" As Zoel did not do watercolor paintings, he did not know what Lucille was doing.
"It's salt." She explained to him and then said to Mark, "Because of the short amount of time, I was in a
hurry to draw, therefore many parts were not perfect, but if you need them, I will draw them more
carefully. This is just a draft."
This painting was a bit sloppy, but Mark could understand the circumstances. "Alright, how much will
these paintings cost?"
Lucille did not know much about the watercolor painting business, therefore she could only look at Zoel
pleadingly.
"Mr. Andrews, this paper is specialized watercolor paper. If you want some still objects like flower
baskets or wine bottles, she can complete them according to your demands. It would cost at least 500
dollars each, but if you want more, I will give you a discount, 450 dollars each."
Zoel said, as he was a seasoned man.
"I want ten pieces, framed. I want the paintings of this young lady. Those big ones that I had just
chosen need to be sent to my place in the next couple of days. These watercolor paintings must be
sent to me on the day of my business opening. Understood?"
Mark looked at Lucille from head to toe again. He looked at her tiny hands and there was a malicious
smile in his narrowed eyes.
"Okay, next Friday, we will complete the ten paintings!"
Zoel happily agreed.
Just like that, the deal was done.
Once Mark took his secretary away and completed the deal, Zoel immediately promised, "I will only
take ten percent of the money sold from your paintings, after deducting the framing costs. The rest will
be yours."
"Okay, I'll draw them now."
Her salary from working at the gallery was not high. Lucille was very motivated when she heard that
she could earn some extra money. She was ready to start working on those paintings immediately.
"You should focus on drawing. I will help you look after the gallery this afternoon."
While he spoke, he sat down on the sofa in the middle of the gallery.
He turned his head and saw Lucille, who stood not far away, preparing her tools to draw. The morning
sun shone through the glass and it shone on her face, which made her pink face look smooth and
tender, like a porcelain doll.
Zoel looked at her and was entranced.
