Chapter 556 Father and Son Reunite
Chapter 556 Father and Son Reunite
He knew that their law firm took on a case to help someone find their son.
However, he never expected that he would end up being the person they were looking for.
Am I Dylan Hahn's son?
Have I… found my family?
When his adoptive parents rescued him from the hands of human traffickers, his arm was broken and he had a high fever, causing him to lose consciousness.
After they cured his illness, he couldn't remember many things.
His adoptive parents had also tried to help him find his biological parents but to no avail.
Now, thinking about it, if he really was Dylan's son, then he must be the child that the family bought from Dylan's relatives.
Since he was a bought child, he must have been hiding and most likely living in the shadows. He probably didn't even have a household registration. It was no wonder his adoptive parents couldn't find his parents.
But...was he really Dylan's son?
Although the childhood photos did look similar, was it just a coincidence?
Furthermore, why did Martin and Rowan easily find so many clues while Dylan couldn't find anything after so many years?
He looked through the information Martin sent him over and over again, and after a long time, he sent Martin a private message.
Edmund: Martin, please send me a copy of Dylan Hahn's letter of appointment.
Martin quickly replied to his message.
Martin: Got it, Ed.
Martin: Ed, there's something else I need to tell you. Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Edmund: Hmm?
Martin: Mr. Hahn has been hiring many private detectives over the years to find his son. However, Rowan and I discovered that those private detectives just took the money without getting anything done.
Edmund: ?
Martin: Mr. Hahn remarried after his first wife passed away, right? Rowan and I discovered that the private detectives who took money from Mr. Hahn not only accepted his payment but also received money from his new wife. They made promises to Mr. Hahn's new wife that they wouldn't help Mr. Hahn find his son. Initially, Rowan and I intended to gather information from those private detectives,
but we found out that they only took the money without accomplishing anything. Even if some of them found any information, they didn't tell Mr. Hahn the truth.
Edmund: ...
Martin: Ed, if Mr. Hahn really is your biological father, you need to be careful of his second wife. We're worried that she might harm you.
Edmund: I understand. Thank you, Martin. Please also thank Rowan, Madison, and Madeline for me.
Martin sent a smiling emoji and added: We're family, Ed. You're being too polite.
Edmund sent a pat-on-the-head sticker, ending the conversation with Martin.
He printed out everything Martin sent him and studied it over and over again.
After countless readings, he came to the conclusion that he might really be Dylan's son.
After reaching this conclusion, he felt a strange feeling in his heart.
Just how unlucky could he be?
If he hadn't found his biological parents, he could still deceive himself, thinking that his parents loved him and it was just an accident that they lost him.
But if he was really Dylan's biological son...
Besides laughing it off, he didn't know what else to say.
However, his mother loved him.
In fact, his mother was so heartbroken because of him that she left this world early.
If his mother was the same kind of person as Dylan, then he would keep it a secret from Martin. He wouldn't pursue the truth.
Whether he was Dylan's son or not, he would treat it as a mystery and wouldn't seek answers.
But his mother loved him.
As a son, if he really was Dylan's biological son, he should go to his mother's grave and acknowledge her as his mother. Every holiday, he should go and pay his respects to his mother's grave.
To do that, he would have to undergo a paternity test with Dylan.
Only by confirming that he was Dylan's biological son could he confirm that Dylan's wife was his biological mother. Then, he could go and pay his respects to his mother and acknowledge their mother- son relationship.
After coming to terms with this, he felt a bitter sensation in his heart.
He was really unlucky.
Just when he was about to figure out his identity, if he really was Dylan's son, he would find that his
loving biological mother had already passed away, leaving behind only a heartless father.
What was the point of this?
If Dylan's wife was really his biological mother, she left this world with endless pain and longing.
She would never know that her son, although sent away by her mother-in-law, had grown up... Although the process was not pleasant, at least he survived.
He thought about all sorts of things. After a long time, he went to the bathroom and splashed cold water on his face.
It was already late when he looked at the time. He decided to calm down and carefully think about everything so that he could look for any loopholes or areas that needed attention before making a decision tomorrow.
He didn't sleep at all that night.
The next morning, he decided to go see Dylan.
If he didn't go see Dylan, last night would be the norm for the rest of his life.
He would be trapped in this matter forever, constantly thinking about it.
He went to see Dylan so that he could find out the truth.
If he really was Dylan's son, he had to go to his mother's grave, bring flowers, and tell his mother that
he had grown up safely, allowing his mother to rest in peace.
After washing up and forcing himself to eat something, he changed into his outside clothes. He then dialed Dylan's phone number. "Mr. Hahn, I'm Edmund Foreman, an employee of Oasis Law Office. I have some leads regarding your son's case and would like to talk to you in person. When are you available?"
"You already found something?" Dylan's voice was filled with excitement. "I'm available anytime! Alright, I'm on my way to the office now. I'll arrive in about ten minutes. If you don't mind, we can talk in my office, Mr. Foreman. You can add my personal number, and I'll send you the location of my office."
"Okay," Edmund said.
After ending the call, they added each other as friends, and Dylan quickly sent the location of his office.
Edmund sighed in relief, left the room, and headed to Hahn Corporation.
After arriving, he met Dylan without any trouble.
Dylan's expression flickered for a moment when he saw Edmund.
He felt that Edmund looked familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had seen him before.
He asked in confusion, "Mr. Foreman, have we met before?"
Edmund smiled, not knowing what to say for a moment.
Dylan's secretary soon knocked on the door and came in with two cups of coffee.
"Mr. Foreman, please have a seat." Dylan warmly invited Edmund to sit down and eagerly asked, "Mr. Foreman, did you bring me good news?"
Edmund didn't say a word as he handed over all the printed materials from yesterday to Dylan.
