Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl

Chapter 1244

Chapter 1244

"Why are you insisting on coming with me?" Rosalie was puzzled by Blake's decision.

"We've been spending a lot of time together lately. If you leave, I'll be all by myself."

"I'm already dealing with enough taking care of one person. Don't make it harder for me." For some reason, Rosalie saw Blake as someone who couldn't take care of himself, like a child. But, to be fair, he was much

younger than her, so it made sense.Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

"Who said I need you to take care of me? I'm not going there for you to look after me," Blake replied awkwardly.

Rosalie was taken aback. Blake had a point. When she was sick and couldn't get out of bed, he had been diligently caring for her, making her hot tea, and even telling bedtime stories. Blake was indeed good at taking care of people.

"So, don't doubt me. I just wanted to be there for you. In case something happens, at least I can take care of both of you."

Rosalie chuckled. "Aren't you worried about getting infected yourself?'

Getting this disease wasn't a simple matter; it could be life-threatening. Besides, if something happened to him, how would she explain it to the Jordans?

Blake snorted dismissively. "I have a strong immune system. There's no way I'll get infected."

"Don't be so sure. This disease doesn't discriminate based on how healthy you are."

Blake dropped a bombshell, 'If I get infected, so be it. It might even push Pearl to work faster on that medicine. She can't just sit back and watch her family suffer."

Rosalie looked at him, feeling oddly reassured by his silly remark. 'Look, I know you care about me, and I appreciate it. But if something happens to you, I won't be able to explain it to your family'

Blake had thought about this and confidently said, "Don't worry about that. It's my problem, and it has nothing to do with you. Even if something happens, I'll handle it myself."

After speaking, he glanced at her. "Stop trying to take on all the responsibility. I don't need you to take care of me or bear any responsibility."

Rosalie reluctantly agreed. "Fine, let's go."

They quickly packed their bags, and surprisingly, Blake didn't bring his laptop along.

Rosalie was puzzled. "Why aren't you bringing your laptop? Are you going to stop gaming?"

Blake looked at her like she had lost her mind. "Come on, we've got serious stuff to deal with. No time for games."

"It's rare to see you not gaming.'

Blake shrugged, slinging his backpack over his shoulder and taking her luggage from her. "Let's go. It's getting late, and we need to see if we can even leave the neighborhood."

After all, they were still under lockdown, so it was uncertain if they could even get out.

As they reached the neighborhood's entrance, the security guards, wearing masks, stopped them as they approached.
