-Hugh’s POV-
As I walked into the foyer, Elias waved and tried to speak. He inevitably watched me walk by, towards
the door.
My mother spoke, watching me leave so soon.
Luna: “Hue, where are you going.?”
My father stopped next to my mother and spoke just before I was about to leave.
Leon: “Son, listen to me before you make any hasty decisions.!”
My hand gripping the door.
Leon: “The reason I didn’t mention the letter was that I knew you’d get upset and rush off into the
unknown.”
I turned toward the opening. He spoke with a frank tone.
Leon: “Look son, I know it must hurt, but what happens if she’s happy with this Florence fellow, are you
going to go there and make her hate you?”
Hugh: “She’s the reason I’m even the demon king, I’ve spent most of my life dreaming one day I’d
make her mine. I’m going to see if I still have a chance or not. If I do have a chance, I’m going to fight.
If I don’t, then I’ll congratulate her and leave.”
I looked back and spoke.
Hugh: “I’m sorry, but I have to know. I love you all.”
I left the mansion, my father rubbed his head as I left and my mother grasped his shirt.
I quickly stepped down the stairs of the manor and off to the stables. My men waited nearby and came
running when they saw me.
Val: “Your highness, what’s the matter.?”
Hugh: “We’re leaving for the Elven continent.”
Red: “Shall we get the carriage ready.?”
Hugh: “Forget the carriage, just get me my horse.”
Val: “Yes, your highness.”
Val was about to get the horses with the others but I put my hand on his shoulder stopping him.
Hugh: “My father will be taking over as Demon King for the time being, please stay and tell him of the
situation in the Demon Continent. You’re the only one responsible enough to handle the job while I’m
away.”
Val: “Of course, Your Highness, please fair well on your travels.”
We shared a glance of trust and a bit of sadness for leaving.
Val watched as my men and I left, racing on our horses down the road.

Val then walked up the stairs into the manor, to meet Leon.
Leon and Luna held one another and Rose and Emelia stood close by.
Elias coughed to tell the others of the visitor.
Leon: “Who might you be.?”
Val bowed with his hand over his heart then looked at the individuals standing apart from him.
Val: “Hello, my name is Val... It's nice to meet you, Your Highness, Demon King Leon Vanity. This is the
second time we’ve met, but the last time I was but a child.”
Leon looked closer noticing the striking resemblance between the former Demon King and the man in
front of him. The violet eyes and the name made it abundantly clear who he was.
Leon: “Val..? No, are you the.?”
Val: “Yes, my father was your predecessor, Former Demon King Val.”
Leon: “Why are you here, are you one of my son soldiers.?”
Val: “Yes, I work along with a few other soldiers as his Highness’ guard. We assist him in dealing with
problems affecting the Demon Empire...”
Emelia looked at the man before her with eyes of delight. From the look on her face, it seemed as
though she was already smitten with the man with whom she only shared a single glance.
Val: “I’m here because I’ve been tasked with informing you of the present situation within the continent
as well as answering any questions you might have about Your Highness’s work.”
Leon: “My son didn’t mention how I’d be taking over for the time being. With your help, it shouldn’t be
too big of a problem, but we can deal with that tomorrow. I don’t feel like dealing with anything of that
nature today. How was..“
Towards the end of his sentence, Emelia walked forward toward the Val.
She grabbed his arm and spoke.
Emelia: “How about we give Sir Val a tour of the manor and then his room.?”
