Chapter 171: Sylphy’s Letter Part 3
-Before Hugh read the letter-
Emelia waited for her brother with her family. She watched the band of travelers ride closer to them.
There were men she’s never seen before and a carriage they were guarding.
After greeting her brother she turned and saw a tall man with a hint of facial hair. The hair on his head
was a tad bit messy but compared to the other individual next to him he seems the most kept. Even
though many of the individuals that road in with him had good looks her eyes were focused on him.
However she wasn’t only reminiscing about his appearance, one of the main things that caught her
attention were his eyes. The dark lustrous orbs with an almost unnatural shade of purple. As her
brother, parents, and staff departed from the steps, she waited there watching the man. She took a
step down but was hesitant to go any further. He and the red-headed individual were conversing at the
bottom of the steps. They originally stood straight watching over Hugh as he went to the steps.
However, once he was out of sight they turned to each other talking, waiting for the others to join.
She turned and started walking away. She shook her head, covering her face. As she got to the top,
she felt a chill down her spine. She looked his way once more. Their eyes met. He looked as though
he’d been watching her since the beginning. His eyes looked down then back towards her.
The second glance was of her back. His eyes followed her as she scurried away.

He looked her way in confusion, the nonchalant way she grasped his arm was surprising. Her face lit Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
up when their eyes met.
Val: “We have a while before His Highness comes back, so I can tour the manor another time
Princess...”
Emelia: “Are you sure? I just wanted to make sure you were comfortable here.”
She seemed sad her eyes were begging for attention. He sighed giving in to the guilt.
Val: “I guess having someone guide me around the manor is better than doing it alone.”
She was practically leaving with him and he reluctantly moved with her.
Emelia: “Yay, we can tour the garden first, it’s too pretty of a day to waste.”
Val: “Whatever you suggest my lady.”
He spoke once more bowing to Leon.
Val: “I’m sorry, Your Highness, but it seems we’ll have to continue this conversation another time.”
As he was being dragged away.
She squeezed his arm tightly with her eyes closed. She seemed as though she was snuggling up
against a pillow about to have sweet dreams.
Leon: “I was going to ask how he came into contact with our son, but it seems Emelia had other plans.”
Luna: “I’ve never seen her act like that before.”
Rose: “Aren’t you worried about how close she was to him, I remember you went crazy about me being
near Elias.?”
Leon: “Looking at how Val reacted I doubt he expected her forwardness either, I’ll talk to him about it
later.”

-shortly after they left together-
Emelia opened the glass doors and walked into the humid greenhouse. Her palm sat on one of the two
long tables that sat on either side of the building. As she walked forward between the two tables she let
her palm glide against the wood. She looked to her side at the many different plants that grew in pots.
She walked until she reached an open area and turned to the man behind her. The door was already
closed and he stood at the opposite end of the greenhouse. He started walking his eyes lazily looking
at the plants around him. The sound of footsteps began to be the only sound within the space and as
he reached not a foot away from her, he spoke.
His hand reached out lightly touching a leaf.
Val: “I’ve never seen trees this small before..”
His eyes moved rapidly from the tree to her.
Val: “What are they.?”
The girl's hands were together, her cheerful attitude was heard in her voice.
Emelia: “They’re called bonsai, the emissaries from the Beastman Isles bring a new tree every time
they visit. They thought it’d be a good gift for my mother since she finds this space comforting..”
Val: “They are quite interesting to look at.”
Emelia: “I know right? I often find myself out here looking and fiddling with the plants, I guess I inherited
it from my mother. Do you have any hobbies like this, that you enjoy participating in.?”
She looked happy as she said that, looking at the plants around her then looking at Val.
Val: “My mother did not enjoy the outdoors that much, so I never got into growing things.”
Val’s hand scratched the back of his head as he finished his statement.
Val: “The only thing I’ve done that was close to agriculture was helping some local farmers plow their
field. Of course, nowadays, the only thing I’ve been doing is being His Highness’s guard.”
Emelia quickly grabbed his free hand, using her fingers to rub and feel the palm. The sturdy hands,
which were giant, in comparison to hers. They had no calluses but were slightly rough.
Emelia: “Plowing fields with your bare hands sounds like tough work.”
