A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 821: Warmth

Brendon, of course, would never admit it!

“There’s no such thing!” Brendon asked seriously, “Did that kid Allen complain to you? How could he slander me like that?!”

How could he be so shameless now?

“Don’t deny it!” Ranita opened the drawer while keeping an eye on him. “I’ll find my phone and see what you say then.”

“Go ahead.” Brendon was confident.

Ranita stopped and squinted at him, arms crossed. “You must have hidden it at home!”

“How childish you are!”

“Ranita, you need evidence to accuse someone. You can’t just listen to one side and wrongfully accuse me!” Brendon looked righteous, as if Ranita had truly wronged him.

“Really?” Ranita asked.

As soon as she finished speaking, Ranita was pulled to sit on the edge of the bed. The man wrapped his arm around her waist. “Ranita, I’m hungry.”

Brendon’s whining was more effective than anything.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

Just then, Caleb’s men delivered dinner. Ranita accompanied him to eat, and the matter inexplicably passed.

The scene in the ward was warm.

Outside the ward, Shannon’s eyes burned with anger. She clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her flesh, her whole body trembling with rage.

Shannon stared at Ranita, cursing her with the most venomous thoughts, wishing she would die immediately.

“Miss Murphy, do you need to go in?” The bodyguard hesitated and asked. Shannon snapped out of it and shook her head pitifully. “Forget it, I won’t go in. Brendon doesn’t welcome me anyway!”

Shannon returned to the ward just as Lena was about to come out and look for her. She immediately rushed over, crying, “Mom!”

“What happened?” Lena asked nervously.

“Mom, I just went to see Brendon… and…” Shannon started crying pitifully.

“You silly child, that woman Ranita is still there. Why would you go and make yourself uncomfortable?” Lena patted her. “Alright, stop crying! Mom will think of something for you!”

“But what can we do now?” Shannon covered her face, crying even harder. “Brendon doesn’t want to talk to me anymore.”

“Don’t forget, you saved his life back then!” Lena sneered. “Does he think a life debt is so easily repaid?”

Shannon’s eyes lit up. “Mom, what do you have in mind?”

“Why are you in such a hurry? They haven’t even remarried yet! Besides, even if Brendon wants to remarry, will Amiya Murphy agree?”

“A troubled marriage can’t last long. Shannon, listen to me. Be patient first. Let’s focus on getting your health back. You’ve been fainting a lot lately; it breaks my heart.” Lena felt sorry for her daughter.

“The floor is cold. Get up and rest on the bed! I’ll get you a towel to wipe your face!” Lena helped Shannon to the bed. Seeing her daughter’s pale face, she hated Ranita even more.

No wonder she disliked Ranita at first sight; she was just like Alexia back then!

At that moment, the door to the ward suddenly opened. A tall man in a suit, about thirty years old, walked in.

“Morgan?” Both Shannon and Lena were taken aback. Lena quickly smiled and said, “Morgan? What brings you here?”
