Chapter 831: Aggrieved
Ranita suddenly felt very aggrieved.
She had nothing to do with Makhi, so why did Brendon always misunderstand her?
“Let go!” Ranita struggled, her eyes gradually reddening from the pain, and she gasped in agony, “It hurts.”
Brendon stopped.
“Where does it hurt?” He had been forceful, but not that much. How could it hurt?
He hadn’t even used his teeth!
Ranita glared at him, stubbornly refusing to speak.
The quieter she was, the more anxious Brendon became. He didn’t know where Ranita was hurting or if he had caused her pain.
“Ranita, talk to me! Where does it hurt?” Brendon reached out to touch her lips. Her soft, pink lips were like berries, and he couldn’t get enough of them. “I didn’t bite you.”
Ranita’s eyes reddened even more.
“Let go!” Ranita pushed him away and stormed off to the bathroom. She took a hot shower and changed into comfortable cotton loungewear.
While the nurse and doctor were checking on things, Ranita found a free doctor and got a tube of ointment.
Ranita hid in the bathroom. Just as she lifted her skirt to apply the ointment, the door swung open.
A tall man stood in the doorway, startling Ranita so much that she dropped the ointment. “Why didn’t you knock!”
It was terrifying!Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
Brendon had come to check on her because she had been in there for a while. He hadn’t expected to see her long, white legs. Ranita had a great figure, and those legs were perfectly proportioned and straight. Whenever they wrapped around his waist, they nearly took his breath away.
But now, there was a red mark on her pale skin.
“What happened?” Brendon’s breathing grew heavier as he stepped inside and gently closed the door.
Brendon could walk now but not for too long.
“I’m fine!” Ranita mumbled while clutching her skirt. “You should go back and lie down. The doctor said you shouldn’t be walking around.”
Brendon coughed lightly and grabbed her wrist, frowning. “Ranita, how did you get hurt?”
Was this why she said she was in pain earlier?
“It’s nothing, just an accident. Don’t worry!” Ranita quickly explained, not wanting him to worry. “You should go out. I’ll just apply some ointment!”
Before she could finish speaking, Ranita was suddenly lifted into the air.
In her shock, she found herself in Brendon’s arms!
“Brendon, put me down! My skirt… it’s going to fall…”
Ranita felt utterly embarrassed, still holding onto her skirt.
“And you’re not fully healed! If your wound reopens…” Ranita was both ashamed and angry. Brendon’s recklessness was infuriating; if his wound reopened, they’d have to start all over again!
Brendon whispered deeply, “Don’t talk.”
Ranita was placed on the hospital bed. Brendon pulled the curtain closed and leaned in to inspect the burn on her leg.
He even touched it here and there with his hands.
Ranita tried desperately to pull away, but he held her leg firmly. Her face flushed, heart racing, and her voice changed tone. “Brendon, stop it!”
“What happened?”
“I told you, it was an accident…” Before she could finish, she met Brendon’s dark eyes. Her heart ached, and all her grievances burst out. In a soft voice, she said, “Someone bumped into me, and hot coffee spilled on my leg…”
