A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 888: Mind

“Who wants to talk about love with you!” Ranita felt a pain in her chest from the tight embrace and spoke sullenly, “It hurts, be gentle.”

“Ranita…” Brendon was a bit angry, “What are you really thinking?”

Seeing him so tense, Ranita laughed softly, “It’s just taking someone along for dinner, why are you so nervous? Or are you reluctant to let go of Miss Murphy? How about this, you two go on a date, and I’ll go home.”

“Ow!” As soon as she finished speaking, Ranita felt a pinch on her waist, causing her to almost jump up in pain, “What are you doing!”

“Brendon, it really hurts!”

Ranita whimpered delicately, her chest heaving from the struggle, making Brendon’s dark eyes flicker with intensity as his Adam’s apple bobbed.

He held her tightly and kissed the corner of her lips.

“If you keep talking nonsense, I’ll tie you up.” Brendon was a bit angry. How could this woman not care at all about what was going on between him and Shannon?

“Do you mind?”

Brendon asked, feeling his breath become uneven. He looked at Ranita nervously, fearing she would give an answer he couldn’t accept.NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.

Ranita looked serious as she cupped Brendon’s cheeks. The Brendon in front of her was warm and real, a comforting presence in her heart. How could she not mind!

But Shannon was from the Murphy family; it was impossible to completely sever ties.

Ranita felt a bit bitter.

In the end, she still had to swallow her pride for Brendon.

“I do mind, but… the Stuart family and the Murphy family can’t afford to fall out.” Ranita said softly, then added, “If I don’t agree, she’ll probably cling to you anyway. It’s better to just agree.”

“I’m just afraid Miss Murphy will cry and you’ll feel sorry for her.”

Hearing her say this, Brendon’s mood improved instantly.

Brendon laughed softly and squeezed her fingers, “I won’t! Right now, my heart and eyes are full of Ranita.”

“Really?” Ranita was amused and felt better. She was actually very easy to please; just a word from Brendon or a little bit of favoritism would make her content.

“This time… will you stand by my side?”

Brendon kissed her forehead, “Yes! I’m your boyfriend now; you have to trust me!”

“Or you could agree to remarry me sooner! That way it’s legally guaranteed. If I ever wrong you, you can kick me out with nothing.”

Ranita’s eyes curved with joy, laughing even more happily.

She was in such a good mood that she giggled out loud, “That’s quite a big move!”

“Will you consider it?” Brendon’s voice was low and magnetic, like a siren tempting her into making an irrational decision.

Ranita felt a surge of warmth and almost agreed.

“Don’t get so close; my ear is itchy.” Ranita’s ears turned red as she pushed him away slightly. But she moved too much, and as she stepped back, her legs went weak, causing her to fall onto the sofa.

Brendon pulled her along, falling into the sofa with her.

Ranita found herself in his arms, his face very close. His shallow, warm breaths brushed against her skin, making her pores tingle.

Ranita swallowed hard and saw Brendon’s dark eyes. She managed to squeeze out a sentence with difficulty, “Get up…”

Brendon stared at her for a while, his gaze slowly moving from her eyes down to her collarbone.

Delicate and white, it was captivating.
