Brendon’s warm breath brushed against her cheek as he pressed her hand onto his abs. The touch was exquisite, making Ranita’s heart itch.

Brendon’s abs were perfectly toned, though she had no idea how he managed it. They were thin yet incredibly attractive.

“You touched my abs, isn’t it fair that you kiss me?”

Ranita quickly curled her fingers, blushing as she looked at him coyly. “You grabbed my hand to touch them; I didn’t do it voluntarily.”

“That doesn’t count!” Ranita couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re being forceful!”

“Then tell me your conditions,” Brendon asked.

Held tightly in his embrace, Ranita felt weak all over, her mind blank. She murmured, “I’ll owe you for now; we’ll talk later.”

“Then hurry up and kiss me!” Brendon urged impatiently. “Or I’ll do it myself!”

Ranita laughed at his antics.

She really loved her current life, seeing Brendon every day and being able to hug him daily.

Simple yet happy.

Ranita paused and looked closely at Brendon. Her hands rested on his waist, gently tugging at his shirt.

When their lips met, she felt a dizzying sensation as he lifted her and spun her around, pressing her beneath him.

His kisses came in waves.

Passionate yet gentle.

Ranita felt like she was drowning in a hot spring, her limbs soft and relaxed, a low hum escaping her lips in comfort.

When Ranita got home, she made sure to wash her face first.

The cold water helped dissipate some of the lingering heat. She still smelled of Brendon’s cologne and changed her clothes to avoid Alexia noticing.

“Mom, you’re still up?” Since Benedict was recovering from an injury, Alexia had been sleeping alone recently.

Ranita brought Alexia a cup of warm water.

“Come sit!” Alexia was wearing a nightgown. Despite her age, she was well-maintained and spoke softly, looking like a princess protected in a castle.

Alexia had indeed been well-protected by Benedict.

“Mom, I’ll stand for a bit.” After a pause, Ranita asked, “Mom, did you need something?”

“Hmm…” Alexia got straight to the point. “Did you go to see Brendon today?”

“I took a peek at him in the restaurant; he does look quite good.”

Alexia’s tone was calm, but it made Ranita uneasy.

“Mom, I really went out to discuss a project!” She paused and continued, “I signed a new cooperation project with Stuart’s Corp.”

“That’s why we had dinner together.”

Alexia sighed. “Ranita, I told you not to get too entangled with him, yet you’re still cooperating with him. Are you completely ignoring my advice?”

Seeing Alexia’s displeased expression, Ranita lowered her eyes and said, “Mom, I took this project after careful consideration!”

“It’s not just for personal reasons.” After a pause, Ranita added, “Mom, I know you’re looking out for me. But…”

“If you know I’m looking out for you, then why are you so disobedient? What’s so great about Brendon? Do you really want to fight Lena’s daughter to the death?”

Alexia’s tone turned severe. “You left without a word and got married; do you know how much that hurt your father and me?”

“And now that you’re finally back, you’re still entangled with him! He may be good-looking, but looks don’t put food on the table!”

“Our Bowman family doesn’t collect trash; we don’t need just anyone!”
