Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 108

Jeremy?

She thought, "Why is he here as well?"

Alicia turned her back on reflex and prepared to head back to her room the moment she saw him. But as soon as she turned around, she heard a familiar voice.

"Ally-"

Due to the conditions of her body, she could only walk slowly. In the blink of an eye, Jeremy was standing in front of her.

"Are you... Are you all right?"

The day before, he waited for her at the door of the company where she worked. Only then did he know that she had taken leave for half a month. However, he didn't know why. After finding out that she was in the hospital, he rushed there early in the morning.

Maybe, he just wanted to see her!

At this moment, Jeremy noticed that she looked a little sick. However, since she could still move around, he felt inexplicably relieved.

Alicia's eyes widened and she stared at him with astonishment. At this moment, she was glad that her mother had left.

Without saying anything, she turned around and continued to walk forward and away from Jeremy. However, Jeremy followed her all the way and asked, "Where are you going? Let me help you!"

Seeing that she was trembling slightly while walking, Jeremy subconsciously placed his hands on her waist. Alicia kept silent as she stayed away from him instinctively.

As for Frederick, he was a little depressed because he had accidentally overheard what Alicia said. He went to an open space outside of the hospital pantry to smoke a cigarette as it was the only smoking area in the hospital.

No matter men or women, the people around him stuck by his side because they wanted some benefits.

To put it bluntly, it was all for money!

In fact, he knew very well that everyone was looking for something that would benefit them in every relationship. As for him, he had a crush on her because of her beauty.

However, he didn't know why he felt annoyed when he recalled her remark!

Pinching the cigarette butt, Frederick realized that the room was simply too smoggy for him to bear. Thus, he turned around and headed out.

As soon as Frederick stepped on the corridor, he saw that Jeremy was chasing after Alicia, leaving only a few steps between them.

''Ally-"

Taking a few strides forward, Frederick shot a cold glance at Jeremy and pulled Alicia into his embrace. "Why are you being so disobedient? What are you doing out here?"

When their eyes met, Alicia's breath became stable. "I came out to look for you! When you are not around, I don't feel at ease!"

She deliberately said this in front of Jeremy. In fact, the reason why she came out was to look for a doctor!

However, it did not please Frederick at all. Instead, he replied, "Let's go back! You need to rest!"

At the same time, he purposely stood in between Jeremy and Alicia. He held her in his arms and slowly walked beside her.

Behind them stood Jeremy, who was in a daze for a long time.

When they returned to the room, Frederick helped her up the bed. Then, he went out and took his phone with him. When he got back, he saw Alicia hiding something under the pillow hurriedly.

"Honey, you must be busy with your work, right? I'm fine now, you don't have to accompany me here! The nurses here will take care of me. I will call you if there's anything!"

Was she trying to chase him away?

Was she really marrying him just for his money?

With his eyebrows slightly furrowed, Frederick sat down on the sofa beside her and said, "It's okay. I'm not busy!"

Sitting on the bed, Alicia forced a smile as she was feeling anxious like a cat on hot bricks.

"Honey, you haven't had breakfast yet! Aren't you starving? It must be exhausting for you to take care of me. Go and have breakfast! I'll be good. I won't go anywhere as I'll be sleeping here... I'll wait for you!"

As she was speaking, she lifted the quilt and pretended to lay down.

Frederick didn't even bother to look and he replied straight away, "I've already eaten."

Suddenly, Alicia sat up again and played with her fingers in boredom.

Frederick did not find the need to ask. He was sure that she must be plotting something again. Was it for the man outside?

He stopped working on the computer. Then, he stood up and spoke, "I forgot to take the medicines from Carson. I'll go and get it. Don't go wandering around!"

"Alright!"

Before he even walked out of the room, he noticed that Alicia's eyes had turned as bright as diamonds.

Frederick didn't say anything, but he clenched his fists subconsciously.

Once he walked out the door, Alicia took out the tiny book that was hidden under the pillow. She wrote and doodled something for a while. Then, she tossed the quilt away and got down from the bed hurriedly. As soon as she opened the door of the ward, she saw a security guard standing at the door. Frederick was there too, giving her a death stare.

Her tongue was tied into a knot on the spot. "H-hubby?"

The next second, the pen in her hand and the tiny book in her pocket were taken out by Frederick. She curled her lips in annoyance, then shut the door and turned back dejectedly.

Frederick sat on a chair before flipping through the notebook. He looked at it and saw a pile of data on it.

Absent for a day, deducting triple the amount... nine hundred...

10,000 dollars for the annual salary, two days off, deducting one thousand...Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

There were tons of numbers written on it. The conclusion that he came up with was that she had hit her spending limit for this month. The hospital fee had a question mark too!

"20,000 dollars" was written on the last line. The latter was poked with countless small dots.

There was no need to ask as Frederick could guess what she was thinking. She must be thinking that the 20,000 dollars she got were not enough. Was it a loss or not?

It turned out that her salary was only six thousand a month. No wonder she went on the stage for twenty thousand dollars. Of course, Frederick didn't know that what Alicia wrote was her basic salary. The total including the subsidies of the company with bonus was at least tens of thousands of dollars!

Standing in front of him like a child who was caught doing something bad, Alicia lowered her head and curled her feet into a ball.

Throwing her notebook away, Frederick squinted at her and uttered, "Is this the reason why you pushed me away and left in a hurry?"

Alicia lowered her head a little more while pursing her lips.

"You wanted to ask the doctor when can you be discharged from the hospital, right?"

"Are you looking forward to getting discharged tomorrow? No, do you want to leave today, or right now?"

"Then, it's best to use your annual leave to cover all your sick leave, right?"

Each time Frederick questioned Alicia, she lowered her head a little more and she bit her lips so hard that they almost bleed.

Looking at her, Frederick got extremely furious.

"Why do you care about money that much? Why do you want so much money? Are you getting ready to run away? Do you have nothing else to do?"

Usually, she wouldn't buy anything for herself. Her mother had her own shop too. Plus, her body was already in such a state, why would she work hard?

"Tell me, where were you going to spend the money on?"

She wanted to tell him that she needed the money to pay for her father's medical expenses but the words could not escape her mouth. Perhaps, it was because of her pride or that she had been pitied by others in the past three years, she didn't want him to sympathize with her. She didn't want him to think that she deliberately reached out to him either.

Therefore, she lowered her head slightly and muttered timidly, basically agreeing with his opinion.

"I don't have a sense of security if I don't have any money!"
