Chapter 149
Then, the warm little hand withdrew and Alicia instinctively wriggled her body to hide under the duvet.
"You don't know how to be appreciative!"
Frederick, who initially wanted to take her to bed, grunted angrily. Then, he went straight to bed and pulled the quilt over his head.
On the ground, she was sleeping in a daze. The memories of her past were popping into her mind. She kept squirming and curling up. She wanted to curl her body into a ball to protect herself.
"Don't touch me! I don't want any money... I won't sell it! No, I won't..."
On the bed, Frederick couldn't fall asleep as he was mad. When he heard her voice, it was even harder for him to fall asleep.
Although Alicia was haunted by nightmares, she was still fast asleep as she was exhausted. On the other hand, Frederick, who was laying on the bed, was wide awake all night long-
The next day, when Alicia woke up, she realized that she was still sleeping on the ground. However, she was wrapped in a thick quilt like a cocoon. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
When she got up, she was still puzzled. When did she get the quilt? Why did her sleeping posture look so bad?
Her whole mood was restored after a good night's sleep. She was in a good mood! After tidying up, she took her clothes and went into the bathroom.
As she was wondering about what time it was, Alicia looked for her car keys in her pocket. She then shouted, "Oh my! How can I forget this?"
"I'm doomed! I'm going to be late again!"
Her full- attendance bonus was going to be deducted again!
Alicia quickly rushed out the door while putting on her shoes. As soon as she got out, she found out that her car was parked in the courtyard, and the car key was placed on the ground in front of her.
Without thinking too much, she took it and got into the car. Once she started the engine and looked around, she noticed that the car was cleaner and the car had been fully fueled.
"That guy really knows how to do things well."
Alicia praised him in her heart as she headed to work while feeling overjoyed.
In the next few days, Frederick did not come back home. As for Alicia, she felt a chill down her spine when she returned to the empty house every day.
One day, when she entered, there was a gust of cold air blowing against her face. Subconsciously, she sighed.
As she was feeling annoyed and frustrated, she made tons of rustling noise while changing her clothes in her room.
After taking a quick shower, she dried her hair and yelled.
"What's wrong with me? Isn't it great that he isn't home? I have the bed and sofa all to myself to sleep in! No one will hit me, scold me, or dislike me..."
As she muttered, Alicia's rosy lips curved downwards. "Why am I unhappy?"
Sitting on the sofa, she didn't even have the motivation to work. She turned on the computer and stared blankly at the screen.
It was not until eleven o'clock that Alicia climbed onto the bed. She held Frederick's pillow and lay horizontally to seize up the whole space.
That night, Alicia didn't really sleep well.
In the office, Frederick's efficiency was as low as his mood. He was still a little irritated deep down.
Early in the morning, he felt annoyed as soon as he opened his eyes. After taking a shower and changing his clothes, he felt tired and unwell.
After making a cup of coffee, he heard someone knocking on the door. "Come in."
"Mr. Frederick, this is the document that needs your approval and signature. You will have a meeting with the sales department at 8:40 a.m.; At 11 a.m., you have to attend a ceremony at the Wonder International Plaza, and at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, you have an appointment with Mr. Andrews of Cardiff Corporation..."
"Alright, I see."
After taking the list over, Frederick pressed his fingers on his forehead.
"Mr. Clements, are you not feeling well? Do you want me to get you breakfast?"
Frederick wasn't feeling well, thus he did not refuse. "Sure, help me order breakfast from the cafeteria!"
"Okay!"
The secretary nodded and went out quickly. After a while, the financial manager came in.
"There's no point keeping you here! Why are you reporting such a small matter to me? Do you want me to do it for you? Find a way yourself! Don't make excuses! All of you can get the hell out if you
can't do it!"
As soon as Chet walked in, he noticed that Frederick was enraged. He even threw the documents towards the financial manager.
Chet stepped forward and patted the financial manager's shoulder. He glanced at the door, hinting at him to head out. The man rushed out of the door with a dull face.
At the door, the secretary, who was carrying a plate of food in her hands, halted.
Seeing this, Chet turned around and took it from her. After closing the door, he placed the food on the small tea table. He uttered, "Frederick, why don't you grab something to eat?"
The breakfast was sumptuous; there were eggs, a bowl of soup, main courses and so on.
As Chet went to make a cup of coffee, he lowered his head and noticed that Frederick was fiddling with the food on the plate. His eyebrows were knitted together and he was obviously in a bad mood.
"What's wrong? Are you upset?"
Why was he mad this early in the morning?
After saying that, Chet realized that ever since the day he caught Miss Blanchard working on the street, no, to be exact, promoting sales, his mood was gloomy and irritated.
Frederick felt irritated at once. He placed the spoon down, saying, "I don't have an appetite!"
What kind of rubbish did the staff in the cafeteria make? It looked gross!
"Frederick, it's my first time seeing you in such a bad mood. Why can't you just work things out with her? What's the point of getting mad at a woman? You should head out and relax if you are free! If you continue like this, no one dares to breathe in the company!"
After saying that boldly, Chet couldn't help but shrink his neck. Sure enough, in the next second, a glare was shot at him.
Then, Frederick picked up a bun and took a bite.
"By the way, the ceremony in the morning... Can you attend it for me?" After all, it was a happy event, and they were major shareholders. If he went there with such an irritated face, it would look like he was being disrespectful.
Raising his eyes, Frederick squinted at him and continued speaking.
"Didn't you ask me to have a walk and relax? Take charge of all the meetings for me!"
Chet choked as he wondered, "D*mn it, can I take back all the words I've just said?"
As soon as the bell rang, Chet sat in the conference room of the sales department.
Chet finally got out of the busyness at 10:30 a.m. He had to prepare for the opening ceremony for Frederick.
On the other side, ever since Alicia had a fight with Frederick, she was also in a mess and was completely in low spirits. In the company, she even dozed off when she was staring at the computer.
With a sudden nod, Alicia woke up in an instant and pinched herself twice. "Ouch..." she exclaimed.
It was his fault that she couldn’t sleep well these days!
She sighed as she contemplated reprimanding Frederick. As soon as she was about to make a cup of coffee to refresh herself, her cell phone vibrated out of the blue.
"Vincent Wood?"
Did he want to go back on his word? It shouldn't be! He had already signed the contract and she had already taken the money. If he went back on his word, they would breach the contract!
For some reason, she felt a little nervous but when she thought of Dylan and the subtle relationship between them, she had no choice but to answer it.
"Hi, Vincent, it's me!"
