Chapter 275
Chapter 275
Luca’s POV
I stepped into the room and felt everything around me come to a standstill as I settled my eyes on him.
It almost felt like a dream that was about to slip through my fingers, it almost felt unreal, like it was way
too good to be true in that moment, like I was going to slide my eyes close and open and he wasn’t
going to be there anymore. I stood still, in the same spot as soon as I had set my eyes on me, and after
a few more moments, I watched as James who was still hugging him slowly pulled out of the embrace
to turn around and stare in my direction, probably because he had felt Armani stiffen in his arms. I was
super grateful that the particular room was currently, because I could feel my eyes start to sting a little
at that very moment.
I watched as Armani’s mouth fell slightly open after a few more seconds, and I couldn’t help but notice
that he was now a grown up man. He wasn’t the kid I still usually see in my dream, he wasn’t the kid
that always looked so small beside me, it seemed like we were almost the same height at the moment,
and his shoulders were now a little bit broader than mine. I blinked once, trying to chase away the
stinging feeling out of my eyes the next moment and after I had blinked my eyes open, the fact that it
wasn’t a dream started to sink into my head really fast. He was still standing before me, without a nick
on him, and I watched as a wide smile started to break out on his face.
“Armani.” I whispered in a voice that sounded hoarse to my own ears as I started to slowly walk
towards him, and before I could take another step forward, he was closing the distance between us and
throwing himself into my arms. I threw my arms around him at the same time, moving backwards a few
steps due to the force of his hug. I had no doubt that he still unconsciously thought he was a kid who
could throw himself into my arms without his weight and built having any kind of effect on me.
“Oh my gosh, Luca… it’s you…” I heard him start to whisper into my shoulder, and I tightened my hold
around him, still feeling like I was dreaming in that moment because I sure as hell never thought I was
going to be holding my brother in my arms after long years of hearing nothing from him.
“Armani.” I whispered once again, pulling him tighter against me for a moment and blinking a little when
the sting in my eyes started to get more watery the next moment. I slowly pulled out of the tight
embrace to hold him at arm's length, and I raked my eyes over his whole body really slowly, starting
from his Gucci clad feet, all the way to his face which was like a carbon copy of mine, and the curls on
his head. His hair wasn’t black anymore like the way it used to be, it was currently a dark brown color, I
guess he must have dyed it at some point. I smiled at him really slowly in the next moment, noticing the
teardrop that was slowly sliding down his cheeks.
“You’ve grown so much… so well” I said to him after a few moments, and I watched as he choked out a
small sob before he was pushing himself into my arms for another hug, which I eagerly returned
because at the moment, I was yet to fully wrap my head around the fact that my baby brother was right
here before me, looking heathy as fuck.
“I missed you so much.” He whispered into my shoulder and I felt a little wetness splash against my
neck in that moment, making my chest start to fill up with so many emotions all at once and I found
myself tightening my hold around him in the next moment, as I started to murmur in a low voice.
“I missed you so much as well, Armani.”
I pulled out of the hug and held him at arm's length once again, noticing that I was still a good three to
four inches taller than he was, and even though he looked all grown up, his face still looked so, so
young and youthful.
“I thought- I thought something happened to your plane when it got delayed.” I said to him in a small
voice after a few moments, tightening my hold on his elbows in tne next moment and I watched as he
choked out another small sob before starting to shake his head.
“That was all the weather, nothing happened to me, I’m alright.” He said in a voice that I was going to
have to start trailing my head and mind to get used to, because my mind was really tuned to his
younger voice, the last one I heard of him when he was still really young.
“I see that now… I see that now.” I said to him after a few moments, glad that the sting in my eyes
wasn’t there anymore, although my eyes was still feeling a little bit sore at the moment. I loosened my
grip from one of his hands and dug my arms into my pocket for my handkerchief in other to help wipe
off his tears, and before I could hand it to him, he was reaching into his suit pocket and tugging out a
neatly folded one which he used to dab at his eyes and forehead. I slowly shoved my handkerchief
back into my pocket, as realization started to dawn on me once again that my baby brother was indeed
all grown up and not the kid I remembered seeing the last time I had seen him.
When we were still growing up and something might have happened that would make him start to shed
tears – I was always there beside him to mop his tears away with my handkerchiefs. But now, without
living with me beside him for over nine years, he has learnt to mop his own tears away by himself.
“How have you been?” I asked after he has shoved his handkerchief into his pocket and was once
again staring at me.
“I’ll tell you all about myself once we get home.” He responded to me, proving once again that he was
all grown up and an actual adult.
I turned my head around a little, registering the fact that James wasn’t in here at this very moment like I
had thought. It was as if Armani could suddenly read minds because he was starting to speak in the
next moment. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
“You’re looking for James, right? He went outside a long while ago.” He informed me and I muttered a
quiet ‘oh’ in the next moment before I started to loosen my other hold on Armani’s elbow.
“We should start heading for home now.” I said to Armani before turning around and starting to make
my way towards the entrance of the room which we were currently in, noticing that the door was locked
unlike how it had wild open when I had made my way into it, some time ago.
“Alright, Luca.” He responded, and my name sounded a little weird or a little unusual on his tongue at
that moment as he made to fall into step beside me. I turned the door knob and pushed the door open,
making the way out of the spacious room into the outside of the room, where James was sitting in,
along with a few people dressed in uniforms who were on their feet unlike James who was seated
comfortably,
“Oh look… he’s done with your office, you can head in now.” James said after a few seconds, just as
he pushed himself to his feet. I stared at the said owners of the office and watched as they bowed their
heads in respect for long seconds before scrambling past me, into the office which I had just vacated.
James was snickering a little when he came to stand beside us just as he started to speak.
“They got angry at first and were about to start making a fuss about someone making use of their
office, but settled down instantly when I told them who it was that was making use of their office.
I rolled my eyes a little as I lifted my hand up and started to use my fingers to massage the sides of my
forehead as I made to speak. “You could have just come get us instead of keeping those people
waiting.”
“And ruin you guys' reunion? No way in hell.” James responded in the next moment as he rolled his
eyes at me.
“You’re so cool, James.” Armani’s voice cut into the sheets almost immediately and both James and my
head turned around at the same time to focus our gazes on Armani’s face.
“Ah, this kid, thank you.” James responded to Armani in the next few moments with a small, fond smile,
almost in the same way he did when Armani was still little. Armani scrunched his face up in the next
moment before starting to speak.
