Chapter 276
Chapter 276
Luca’s POV
“Aish, I’m not a kid anymore.” He literally whined out, and I found myself grinning a little at him. James
only rolled his eyes before going to stand before Armani, and I noticed that they were almost the same
height, although James was still a little bit taller. James reached up and to my disbelief, started to ruffle
Armani’s curls the way I remember doing to him a whole lot when he was little, and then James started
to speak.
“You might be as big as this, as you are right now, but you’re still a kid.” James continued to sowie as
he kept on ruffling Armani’s a lot more before finally pulling his fungus away. I watched as Armani
scrunched his face in the next moment as he reached up and started to try to restore some type or
balance to his currently disheveled hair.
“I’m not.” Armani finally responded and James only chuckled a little before rolling his eyes.
“If you’re not, then I’m guessing you’d be ready to wrestle with me tomorrow morning? Winner ends up
being right.” James informed him as he slowly shoved his hands into his pockets and I watched as
Armani’s mouth fell open in the next moment. After a few more seconds, a small sheepish smile broke
out or his face as he started to take a couple of steps back away from James, right before he started to
speak with shrugged shoulders. “Uh, maybe I am a kid?”
I scoffed at that a little, a small laugh following suit as I closed the distance between us and sling an RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
arm around his shoulder, right before I started to speak. “Of course you are. Although you’ve grown so
much.”
“You’ve grown so much as well, the both of you. You weren’t looking this cool when last I remembered
seeing the both of you in person, but now you both look so, sooooo cool” Armani started to echo out,
an impressed and awed expression on his face as his words slip out of his lips, and in sync, my eyes
found James and locked with his for a couple of seconds. James cracked a little smile before I started
to avert my gaze.
“Oh, yeah?” James spoke up this time, with his hands still deep inside of his pockets.
“Yes. And you used to be shorter when I last saw you.” Armani continued, referring to James this time
and I watched as James’ smug look slipped a little as he started to laugh a little.
“Why? You little fuck–”
“But you’re way taller now, way way taller, although not that talker that I am, but still taller.” Armani
continued after a few more moments and I felt all the worries which had been growing inside of my
head ever since I knew that Armani was going to be coming back home, because a part of me had felt
like it wasn’t going to be the same between us and was going to be instead tense and awkward. But
now, at this very moment, I could feel all my troubled thoughts about this particular topic start to slowly
ebb away. Because it was obvious that things weren't just going to be easy between us, that it was
going to be much easier than I had hoped, and also fun.
“Did you hear what he had just said, Luca?” James asked me after a couple of moments with a small
laugh and I rolled my eyes a little, cracking a small smile as I started to speak. “Well, he was kind of
right, you’re both almost the same height.” I said to him and watched as James scoffed at me
unbelievably before starting to speak.
“Fuck you, man. You’re already picking him over me?” He accused me and I grinned a little, pulling
Armani into my side even more, adding more emphasis before starting to speak. “It is what it is.”
“That’s so unfair, man.” James argued before staring at Armani exparatedly. “You should totally go back
to where you came from.” James said to Armani after a few moments and I listened as Armani started
to whine on the next moment.
“But James…”
“No buts, this was the same way he instantly deserted me when his wife got involved.” Jamea
continued, shooting me an eye roll and a small scoff. I felt as Armani started to turn around in my grip
around his shoulders until he was staring up at me in the next moment.
“That reminds me… you’re married!” Armani gushed out to me in the next second and I breathed out a
small laugh before starting to nod my head at him.
“I sure am.” I confirmed for him, even though I found still remember having this kind of conversation
with him on the first time we both spoke with each other on the phone.
“Where is she? I wanna meet her already!” He gushed out, showing that bit of youthfulness that was
still inside of him in that moment, and in that particular, I felt super glad about making that decision to
send him out of the country when I did – assuming I hadn’t send him out when I had done, I wonder
how things would have turned out. I just know that even if he wouldn’t have ended up dying, he was
going to have to once again try to master how to be brutal and merciless, and I was sure that was
going to completely dim all the youthfulness inside him at this point, which brought me to the
conclusion that I was really glad that I had sent him out of the country when I did.
“You’d get to meet her when we get home, she’s back at home.” I said to him in the next moment
before turning my head around to stare down at my wrist were a rolex was clinging on. The time was
currently some minutes past seven in the evening, and even without being currently outside, I was sure
that the sun wasn’t going to be outside anymore.
“Alright, I think we should really start heading home right now.” I said loudly as I removed my arm from
Armani's shoulder the next moment.
“We really should, it’s starting to get late already.” James agreed with me instantly. I started to make my
way back through the direction which we had taken that had brought us here, fully aware or the fact
that Armani had fallen into step beside me, right before James made me pause in my tracks when he
called out my name.
“We should say a quick word of thanks to them before finally leaving,” James suggested, nodding at
the room which he was referring to– it was the office of the people whom James had gone to consult
about the delayed flight, the same room he didn’t allow me in when I had wanted to make my way into
it.
“You didn’t let me go in there when I wanted to.” I reminded him after a couple of moments as I started
to make my way towards him. He huffed out a small breath before starting to argue. “That was because
you were not yourself back there.”
I rolled my eyes a little before starting to speak. “Yeah, whatever… let’s just head in already and be
done with everything so we can get out of here.”
We both went in, leaving Armani to wait for us in the outer part of the office and after a few minutes, we
were done and getting ready to make our way out or the office.
“Thank you, Mr Ricci.” The head pilot said to me at the last moment and I nodded my head at him,
exchanged some handshakes with about two people, before finally stepping outside with James tailing
me.
“That’s done and out of the way.” James started to say after a few moments and I nodded my head a
couple or times, agreeing with him.
I began to make my way out of the building the next moment, and at the same time, placed a call to my
driver, in order for him to be outside where he had dropped us at, waiting and ready for us.
I walked outside alongside James, going through my phone absentmindedly and listening to James
quietly converse with someone beside me on the phone. The clouds were already starting to get dark
and the sounds of planes leaving and landing kept echoing around this part of the airport really faintly,
over and over again and I was sure these sounds were going to be much more intense and louder on
the other side of the airport where the regular people were at. I glanced up from my phone when my
car started to pull up before finally coming to a stop before me, a few feet away.
In the next second, the driver was stepping out and tugging the passenger’s door open. I made my way
into the car, sinking into the soft seat– and just as James was about to slide into the car from the other
side, I halted him with a small movement of my hand as a panicked and dreaded feeling started to sink
into my stomach, before I started to speak.
“Where’s Armani?”
