Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 1901

Nolan Haskins' fingers clenched tightly around the bedsheet. Although young, he could see clearly-Mom didn't like Dad. Now, someone was trying to take Mom away, and Dad was panicking.

Nolan was also panicking, but what worried him more was the fear that even if Mom knew, she wouldn't change her mind. He opened his mouth, then closed it, not knowing what to say.

Fitch Haskins wrapped his arms around Nolan, gently patting his back. "Easy there, just try and get some sleep."

Nolan lowered his eyelashes and remained silent.

Fitch tucked him in and stood up to leave the room.

As he reached the staircase, he glanced at Zoey March sitting on the couch. One of her hands was cuffed to a nearby shelf, making escape impossible, and her face showed signs of distress. Seeing Fitch approach, her expression darkened further.

Fitch sat beside her, pausing for half a minute without saying a word. It was Zoey who broke the silence.

"Fitch, what do you really want?"

Instead, Fitch asked, "Thirsty?"

She was indeed a bit irritated.

He stood up to fetch two glasses of water and brought out some ibuprofen. "Still hurting?"

She didn't respond, turning her head away, leaving the pill untouched. Fitch felt somewhat at a loss; he had mentally prepared himself before coming down. Yet, facing her, he found himself somewhat afraid.

He could straightforwardly present the marriage certificates, telling her they were legally husband and wife, that she now couldn't date other men, let alone get engaged.

But what if Zoey questioned how the marriage certificate came to be?

It was after she went to prison that he used the Haskins family's connections to obtain it from the city hall. If Zoey knew about the year she had served, how would she see him? She might despise him even

more.

The more ruthless Fitch had been in the past, the more frightened he was now.

Zoey was losing her patience, "What do you want to say?"

Just then, they heard a car horn outside, followed by someone shouting, "Zoey!"

It was Henry Sullivan.

Zoey was surprised; after being hung up on earlier, Henry was supposed to be preparing for a trip abroad the next morning, yet here he was at this crucial moment. Her parents had already been picked up, leaving her home alone.

Zoey was momentarily anxious, trying to stand up, but her hand was still cuffed. She looked at Fitch, "Unlock this, I need to talk to him."

Fitch's gaze darkened, his wife openly making him a cuckold, and he was powerless to complain. He lowered his eyelashes, not consenting.

Zoey scoffed, "Mr. Haskins, need I remind you, this is illegal confinement."

Right after her words, the doorbell rang, Henry's voice coming through. "Zoey? Are you there?"

He had seen Fitch's car, noticed several bodyguards, wondering when Fitch had moved into this neighborhood. Adding today's hang-up into the equation, he couldn't help but be suspicious.

Zoey was worried Henry would clash with Fitch's bodyguards, her tone turning sharp.

"Fitch, let me go."

She began to tug at her wrist, the handcuffs chafing her skin red.

Fitch grabbed her hand and unlocked the handcuffs. The next second, Zoey didn't hesitate to walk towards the door.

As she opened the living room door,

she saw Henry being blocked by a few bodyguards. Henry's chest bore a noticeable footprint, hinting at a scuffle.

She hurried over, yet was stopped by the bodyguards. The bodyguards looked to Fitch for instructions.

Fitch, standing by the doorway, found her protective urgency over Henry amusing. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

Henry pulled Zoey behind him, shielding her.

"Mr. Haskins, what exactly has my girlfriend done to offend you?"

The two stood as if they were star-crossed lovers about to be beaten, making Fitch seem like the villain.
