Ex-husband's Sweet Trap

Chapter 54 Self-Help

Chapter 54 Self-Help

"Speed up, we'll get in trouble if the police get reinforcements." The scarred man said.

The car sped up, just as he had instructed, making Luz feel nauseous.

Luz looked out of the window in a panic and found that she did not recognize the surroundings at all.

The road they were on was in a rural area, with just empty land around and no hope of help apart from

the other cars driving on the same road.

She exchanged glances with Mia and felt even more hopeless. It was clear that Mia did not know

where they were taking them either.

She couldn't help but panic. They were kidnapped, taken as hostages by these drug dealers. However

slim the chances of this happening was, they were unlucky enough to be the victims.

She couldn't help but think of the kidnapping cases she had seen on TV before. What would happen to

Logan if she was killed?

Thinking of her son, Luz forced herself to calm down. If she just waited for the police to save her, they

might not get here in time.

Mia was also relatively calm. She knew that her colleague would report their disappearance as soon as

they realised that they did not go back. It was just a matter of whether the North City police force was

competent enough to find them.

Their eyes met again, and they saw the same thought in each other's eyes. They had to save

themselves.

It was better to rely on yourself than on others.

But it was easier said than done. They were both tied up. Even though their bonds were not tight, it was

still enough to stop them from getting free.

Luz ran her eyes around the car to see if there were any tools that could help them free themselves,

but there was nothing.

Just as she was feeling disappointed, she glimpsed a sack of flour at the back of the van. An idea

popped into her head suddenly. The four must be how the drug dealers smuggled their drugs around.

As long as they did not encounter a police dog, the drugs would be perfectly concealed within the flour.

Mia also saw the bag of flour. She immediately got the same either. They could use the flour to signal

for help from the cars behind them.

But how would they get the flour out?

Luz slammed her back into the opening of the boot as hard as she could. The van was old, so the

cover popped open a little, leaving a tiny crack.

"B*tch, what are you doing?"

The drug dealer in front of her roared. She immediately screamed, acting like a woman scared out of

her wits.

"Be quiet."

He would have kicked her if he wasn't sitting in the front and couldn't reach back.

"Boss, should we..."

Hearing this, Luz and Mia became more vigilant and worried. Were they already thinking about killing

them so soon? Their hearts were beating wildly. It might be better if they decided to r*pe them instead,

at least they could still have more time to get help.

"Leave them. Boss will send a helicopter for us in a while. If the police catch up, at least we can use

them as hostage in the negotiations."

"Good thinking, boss." NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

The man said flatteringly and then glared at the two women behind. "Behave yourselves, or I'll make

you suffer!"

Luz and Mia's hearts settled back into their chests. They exchanged a glance. Mia shifted her body a

little so that she was blocking the view from the rearview mirror, while Luz scuttled over to the sack of

flour.

She wondered if the flour would be blown away by the slipstream.

However, this was their only chance. Hopefully, the police would be smart enough to recognise their

signal for help.

She grabbed a handful of flour and carefully dribbled the powder from the crack. Luz watched,

panicked, as the air from the exhaust blew the flour away. If it was blown away in little clumps, there

might still be a chance for someone to notice, but if the flour was just distributed into a large area, it

would be almost impossible to notice.

Never mind. Their survival was up to God now.

Lucas and Henry stayed in the CCTV room and found the footage of the hostages being taken away.

"Zoom in here."

Henry leaned forward, with one hand on the table beside him. His cold face seemed to be covered with

a layer of ice, and his tone was as cold as ice.

The staff immediately zoomed in on the image. Henry's jaw twitched.

"Damn it, it's really Luz Boone. The other woman looks kind of familiar too."

Lucas slapped his forehead in exasperation. Of all the people in the KTV, why did the criminals choose

to take Luz Boone as hostage? If anything happened to her, he would be doomed.

"Get in touch with the police. We must ensure the safety of the hostages."

After Henry finished speaking, he strode out of the room. Lucas stomped his feet before following him.

"Where are you going?"

Lucas quickly followed him into his car and asked anxiously as he fastened his seat belt.

"The drug dealers are heading south." Henry said curtly as he started the engine. The Maybach

headed towards the highway on the south of North City.

"Sometimes I wonder if you dealt drugs too."

Lucas muttered under his breath. The man beside him ignored him and took out his phone to call his

subordinates.

"Search for the whereabouts of the car with the plate number LD98721."

Lucas frowned. "Whose car is that?"

"Should be the drug dealers'," Henry answered after hanging up without looking at him. "Gold KTV is a

high profile place, most people who go there drive luxurious cars. The CCTV footage showed an old

van near the club, which is suspicious in its own right, and it was parked near the side entrance,

probably so that the drug dealers can make a quick getaway if they needed it."

Lucas' eyes glazed over. "Dude, I've known you for your entire life, and I never realized you had the

potential to be a detective! You took notice of a car parked in a parking lot?"

Henry had been frowning since he got in the car. It wasn't that he had the skills to be a detective. The

reason why he could be so analytical was that it was that woman had been kidnapped.

He was the only one who could bully his woman!

Lucas shut his mouth as well when Henry did not reply. He knew his best friend well enough to know

that he still had feelings for Luz.

"Don't worry. We'll find them safe and sound."

After comforting him, he quickly contacted his men. They were facing drug dealers, and probably a

whole syndicate, so they would need reinforcements in case the police could not make it in time.

As soon as he finished speaking, Henry's phone rang. "Did you find it?"

"Boss, the car is heading for the South City Expressway, but the drug dealers are very cunning.

They've blocked their license plate, so it's hard to follow."
