Chapter 139
Chapter 139
Jonathan narrowed his eyes, an inexplicable anger rising from the bottom of his heart. He blurted out
without thinking, “I’m angry because you’re supposed to be my woman, and you did something so
stupid! It’s just embarrassing!”
Before his words even faded, he saw Estelle’s face turn even paler, the resentment and stubbornness
in her eyes sinking instantly.
He almost immediately knew he had gone too far with his words. Maybe the reason for his anger was
that he himself didn’t even know why he was so mad.
The car’s interior was dimly lit and filled with a cold silence as the two stared at each other. A moment
later, Estelle said nothing more, turned around, and got out of the car.
She walked straight ahead without looking back, her figure slender and her back straight, soon
disappearing into the darkness.
Jonathan leaned back in his seat, taking a sharp drag from his cigarette, but it felt like a lump in his
throat, refusing to go down.
Eventually, Jonathan made his way back to the private room, his expression filled with gloom and
distress. The atmosphere in the room grew tense as others present sensed his somber mood.
Charlie let out a laugh and addressed everyone, saying, “Keep playing, folks! Don’t mind us!”
No one dared to keep staring at Jonathan, pretending as if nothing had happened and continuing
whatever they were doing. Charlie walked over and sat down in front of Jonathan, chuckling, “What’s
going on with you and that girl just now?” Jonathan lit another cigarette, pursed his lips, and spoke
softly, “She’s staying in my place at the Royal Mansion.”
“You’re living together?” Charlie looked at him in disbelief.
Jonathan coldly glanced at him, “What’s the big deal? Don’t tell me you’ve never had a college
girlfriend?”
“No!” Charlie paused for a moment, still finding it hard to believe. “It’s normal for any of us to have
different kinds of girlfriends, but not for you. You tell me, other than that girl you liked back then, have
you ever had a woman by your side all these years? I thought you were still in self–discipline, but it
turns out you broke it long ago!”
Jonathan felt irritated, “Get lost!”
“No!” Charlie laughed, “Tell me in detail, is that little girl your sugar baby?”
“No.” Jonathan took a puff of his cigarette and said indifferently, “She doesn’t want my money. She just
lives in my house and pays rent every month.”
Charlie appeared taken aback, his expression reflecting shock. “This is going too far, man! That kind–
hearted girl, you’re sleeping with her and making her pay rent?”
Jonathan’s brow furrowed. “She insisted on paying, so I compensated her in other ways!”
Charlie feigned a sense of devastation. “How come I never come across such innocent girls?”
Jonathan sneered. “Is it because you lack people or money?”
Charlie replied, “It’s just a different feeling, you know!”
Jonathan didn’t bother to respond and continued to smoke.
Seeing Jonathan’s unhappy face and thinking about the incident at Manley’s private room earlier,
Charlie moved closer and said meaningfully, “You’re not falling for that little girl, are you?”
Jonathan’s phone, which was on the coffee table, suddenly lit up. He picked it up and saw a message
from Estelle, Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“Let’s end this. I’ll move out of the Royal Mansion as soon as possible”
His already irritated mood took a further nosedive.
Gazing at the message on the phone, his mind was consumed by the screenshot Manley had sent
earlier. He casually tossed the phone onto the coffee table, a cold, mocking smile playing on his lips.
Turning to Charlie, his voice filled with indifference, he stated. “It means nothing, just a brief affair!”
