Chapter 144
Chapter 144
After finishing his meal, Jonathan went back to his study and stood by the window. Ten minutes later,
he saw Estelle getting out of the
car.
The young girl’s eyes gleamed like stars as she strolled serenely towards the villa. Sunlight bathed her
face, casting a gentle radiance upon her delicate cheeks.
Oblivious to the observer, she kept her gaze lowered, unaware of being watched.
The servants, who were already well acquainted with Estelle, greeted her with courtesy as she stepped
into the house, inquiring about her beverage preference.
After politely declining, Estelle went upstairs to tutor Henson.
Henson promised to give her a surprise after his exams, and she promised to give him one too!
When Estelle went downstairs after her lesson, she unexpectedly saw Jonathan playing with Milo in the
living room.
This was their first encounter since the day he had scolded her. The man was half–crouching on the
carpet, stroking Milo’s head, his gaze deep as it fell on her.
Ignoring his presence, she continued purposefully towards the entrance, feigning unawareness.
Henson’s voice called out from behind, attempting to stall her.
“Why rush? The kitchen has prepared your favorite soup. Stay and join us for dinner!”
As Estelle was changing her shoes, she looked back and saw Jonathan standing up and walking over.
Their gazes locked briefly, and Estelle swiftly averted her eyes, hastily responding to Henson, “No
need, I have some things to take care of. I must be on my way!”
Jonathan’s voice resonated with depth, “So you won’t have lunch just because you have other tasks?”
Estelle’s voice maintained a calm tone, albeit with a hint of detachment, “I can eat while I’m busy!”
After bidding farewell to Henson, Estelle departed, leaving Henson perplexed. He turned to Jonathan,
his expression puzzled. “Did something happen between you and Ms. Macclain?”
Jonathan’s eyes narrowed, his tone tinged with curiosity. “Why do you ask?”
“She didn’t even say goodbye to you, and I think she didn’t stay for lunch because she didn’t want to
see you!”
Jonathan didn’t know how to reply.
He strode towards the dining room with a stern face, “If she doesn’t want to eat, fine. Do we need to
beg her to have lunch with us?”
Henson shrugged, his mind lingering on Estelle’s earlier promise of a surprise after the exams, which
now made him feel unsettled.
Later that night, after having a shower, Estelle noticed an eagle head icon displayed on her phone.
Intrigued, she picked up her phone and headed to the study.
The study’s layout was exactly the same as the one in Villa del Sol. As Estelle approached the
computer it automatically turned on, and soon the two monitors on the opposite side lit up as well.
Goshawk’s childish voice popped out, “Boss, it’s me!”
Estelle hummed in acknowledgment, “What’s up?”
“It’s been a while since we took a job, I’m getting restless just sitting around, let’s get back to work!”
Blue Hawk suddenly chimed in from the side, “I also wanted to talk to you guys. From now on, we can
communicate through our phones.”
Goshawk looked puzzled and asked, “Aren’t you worried about our messages being intercepted?” Blue
Hawk responded calmly, “Don’t worry. I’ve already developed a program to intercept any messages. I’ll
send it to your phones shortly”
Goshawk shouted with excitement, “Blue Hawk, you’re so cool!*
Blue Hawk sighed and continued, “This program is equipped with an owner lock. It will not only prevent
external intrusions but also safeguard our intellectual properties from being stolen, even by our own
colleagues. I don’t have the ability to bypass it either. In the unfortunate event that a phone is lost or NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.
stolen, the program will activate a self–destruction sequence, ensuring the security of our information
and privacy
‘Wow!‘ Goshawk exclaimed again.
Estelle gazed at Blue Hawk and expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for all your hard work!”
Blue Hawk replied, “You’re welcome!”
Estelle continued, “Okay, from now on, let’s communicate primarily through our phones and resume
taking on new jobs!”
