Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 151

Chapter 151

She became famous once and for all, but people would never see her again. Chris excitedly asked

over the phone, “Estelle, who the hell is your uncle?” Estelle’s eyebrows arched in surprise as she

asked, “What do you mean?”

Chris laughed, “Yesterday afternoon, I went back to Barry’s to get something, but their security guards

stopped me from going in. They said their boss was furious and wanted us to compensate for all the

losses or they would sue us. However, after just one night, my friend called me over, and their boss

was personally waiting for me at the company entrance. His attitude was unbelievably good. Not only

did he waive the compensation, but he also doubled the original pay for the painting job, saying it was

for our mental anguish.” He chuckled incredulously, “My parents didn’t know about this, so it must have

been your uncle’s help. And Annetta’s situation coming to light probably was due to your uncle as well.

He’s really awesome!”

Estelle replied, “Some people went too far, and it was time for karma to catch up.”

Chris laughed heartily, “Anyway, it’s all thanks to your uncle. Pass my gratitude to him. Oh, and Barry’s

boss gave us 20,000. We agreed to split it evenly. I’ll give you the money later. If it’s okay, I’ll treat you

and your uncle to dinner tonight.”

Estelle smiled lightly, “How about another day? I already have plans to treat a friend to dinner, and my

uncle has something going on tonight too.”

Chris immediately replied, “Then, I’ll treat you and your friend, and we can have dinner with your uncle

another time! Let’s make it a deal. See you tonight!”

And with that, he hung up.

When Estelle was about to head out, Emily was setting up breakfast. She said, “Come on, I made your

favorite sandwich.”

Estelle laughed, “Someone wants to treat us to dinner tonight. Are you available?”

Emily looked up in surprise, “What friend?”

Estelle took a sip of her milk. “The classmate who was painting with me. We got our pay today, so he’s

treating.”

Emily replied “Sure!” and then smiled slyly, “Does he like you?” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Estelle took a composed bite of her sandwich and replied casually, “No.”

Emily playfully teased her, “Don’t be so sure. Why else would he be so attentive?”

Estelle shook her head and brushed off the notion, “You’re overthinking it!”

Observing that Estelle was not entertaining the idea of any romantic feelings, Emily chuckled and said,

“Alright then, I’ll return early in the afternoon.”

In the evening, Estelle and Emily arrived on time at the agreed–upon restaurant, Serenity Heights.

Emily looked up and sighed, “The food here is expensive. Is your classmate going to spend all his

earnings on this?”

Having spent a few days with Chris, Estelle knew that his parents were both business people, and their

family was not short on money. They took on the painting job purely to pass the time.

As they were talking, Chris rode up on a motorcycle, took off his helmet, and smiled handsomely,

“Sorry I’m late.” Looking at Emily, he laughed, “Estelle, is this the friend you mentioned? Indeed, a

beauty’s friend is also a beauty!”

Emily smiled and introduced herself, “My name is Emily.”

His smile was bright and warm, “I’m Chris. Let me park the bike, and I’ll be right back.”

As he went to park, Emily playfully raised an eyebrow at Estelle and whispered with a grin, “So, he’s a

handsome guy after all. Seems like my guess was right.”

Estelle’s lips curled into a smile, and just as she was about to respond to Emily, her attention was

drawn to the distance. Her eyes landed on Jonathan, who was walking towards the west gate

accompanied by a few friends.

Sensing Estelle’s gaze, Jonathan turned his head and glanced back. Their eyes met amidst the

bustling crowd and the vibrant lights, creating a momentary connection between them
