Chapter 1072: Good Looks Can Be Troublesome

"Don't overthink it, just tend to the wound first," Yanis spoke softly.

Aurora nodded and remained silent.

Aurora's injury wasn't severe, just a slightly unsettling cut on her arm.

Zane arrived swiftly and upon entering, his gaze fell upon Aurora. He furrowed his brows slightly, "Are

there any other injuries?"

Aurora shook her head, "No, he didn't hit me."

This morning, Aurora went to the store early because new stock had arrived, and she wanted to

organize it. Normally, the mall opens at nine in the morning, and there aren't many people around.

But today, as soon as the mall opened, customers entered the store.

Two men came in, and right away, they provided the age, gender, and height of the child they were

shopping for, asking Aurora to put together two outfits.

Aurora agreed and turned to arrange the clothes. They wanted five sets, so Aurora matched five sets

for them.

"Hello, the clothes are ready. Take a look, and if anything doesn't fit, I'll adjust it," Aurora politely said.

"Just like this," one of the men didn't mention any fitting issues. He was speaking, but his gaze was

fixed on Aurora, giving off a rather repugnant vibe.

Nevertheless, Aurora tried to treat them like any other customers. She completed the transaction and

handed over the bill, "That will be eight hundred sixty-nine dollars."

"Why so expensive?" the man took the bill and glanced at it, "Are you trying to trick us?"

Aurora maintained her composure, "Sir, we deal with brands here."

"Brands my foot! Whether these things are branded or not is just a matter of a few words for you. Who

knows if these rags were picked up somewhere, decorated a bit, and now they're suddenly branded?

Your deceptive tactics are really lousy!"

Aurora looked at the man, intending to keep the conversation professional. But he continued to be

aggressive.

One of the men even reached out toward Aurora, "Beautiful lady, how about you say something nice to

us? We might buy a few more sets."

Aurora could see through their intentions and decided to take the clothes she had just arranged back

out, placing them on the counter. She didn't rehang them immediately; instead, she said in a soft voice,

"If you find these clothes unsatisfactory, perhaps you'd like to check out other stores?"

This was a rather polite way of declining.

However, it seemed that Aurora had underestimated them.

The man who had spoken to her earlier reached out and touched Aurora's face, "Why pretend to be so

high and mighty? Saying a few kind words won't hurt. It's not like we're asking you to sleep with us.

Must you be so virtuous?"

Aurora tried to endure, considering that Yanis had helped her get this job, and Stella had treated her

well during this time. She didn't want to cause trouble, even though she was facing such an shameless

person. She planned to tolerate it.

But the man seemed to have no intention of stopping. His actions became increasingly improper, and

he even audaciously extended his hand toward her chest.

At this point, Aurora couldn't hold back anymore. She raised her hand and slapped his hand away

forcefully, "What are you doing?"

The force behind Aurora's slap was significant, catching the man off guard. He didn't expect Aurora to

react so suddenly.

Instinctively, the man raised his hand and slapped Aurora back.

The situation escalated, and the three men began to physically assault Aurora without restraint.

Faced with three grown men, Aurora had no chance of resisting. She could only curl up and protect her

head, enduring the punches and kicks.

Finally, they pulled Aurora by her hair and threw her to the side. She happened to grasp the pair of

scissors she had been using, and as one of the men kicked at her, Aurora used the scissors to stab

him.

He let out a cry of pain, and his companions intensified their aggression.

Fortunately, the store staff heard the commotion and came running, shouting at them.

The three men retreated, leaving Aurora injured and bruised. She was taken to the hospital.

After Yanis learned the whole truth, she became angry, "Did you check the surveillance footage? Did

you find those three men?"

After the incident, both the mall and the police had reviewed the security footage, and the police were

actively searching. However, they hadn't found them yet.

"Focus on recovering first. I'll handle the rest," Zane reassured Yanis, intervening at the right time.

Yanis stared at Aurora's injured arm, her brows furrowing with concern.

"Sister-in-law, I'm really okay, just a minor flesh wound."

Although Aurora had been punched and kicked, she had curled up in a way that protected most of her

body. Apart from the cut on her arm from the scissors, she had managed to avoid major injuries.

"Focus on healing. Your brother will handle the other matters," Yanis said, her worry evident. She

couldn't do much but hope that the police would locate the culprits soon. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Aurora didn't have many friends here, so despite being pregnant, Yanis decided to stay at the hospital

to take care of her.

Originally, Zane had considered hiring someone to look after Aurora, but with Yanis insisting on staying,

he had no choice but to call Phoebe and ask her to come if she had the time.

Phoebe had been in Viteto recently, so she immediately came to the hospital upon receiving Zane's

call.

After Phoebe arrived, Zane left for work, leaving instructions with Phoebe to take care of Yanis.

Assured that Phoebe would take care of Yanis, Zane headed to his company.

"Why did things turn out like this?" After Zane left, Phoebe sat by Aurora's bedside, looking at the

bandaged wound on her arm.

Aurora briefly recounted the incident.

Phoebe sighed, "Being good-looking can sometimes be troublesome."

Yanis glanced at Phoebe, a hint of a smile in her eyes, and asked softly, "Have you been troubled

recently?"

Upon hearing Yanis' question, Phoebe straightened up, "What are you talking about? How could I be

troubled? How can someone like me be troubled?"

Suppressing her laughter, Yanis remarked, "Why are you getting so worked up?"

"Am I worked up?" Phoebe turned her head to Aurora, asking, "Did I seem worked up?"

Meeting Phoebe's gaze, Aurora hesitated for a moment before shaking her head, "No."

Phoebe opened her mouth to say something, but then seemed to think better of it and swallowed her

words, "Anyway, I'm not."
