Chapter 1073: She Wants Me to Participate

Yanis nodded, "Yes, yes, you didn't say anything, it was me being mistaken."

Phoebe responded with an "mm-hmm," "You're right, it's definitely your imagination."

Yanis didn't press further and changed the topic. She looked at Phoebe and asked in a soft voice,

"Don't you need to go back to Seacity?"

Phoebe sighed and lay down tiredly by the bedside, "My parents have been brainwashing me lately,

telling me to stay in Manches City. They want me to find a reliable person to manage things in Seacity,

and I could just visit occasionally or merge with a suitable company."

Yanis gazed at Phoebe, "What do you think about that?"

Phoebe paused for a few seconds and then looked at Yanis with a serious expression, "Sister-in-law."

"Yes?"

"You're a designer, a renowned jewelry designer at that. If I decide to stay in Manches City, can you

help me get involved?" Phoebe's eyes brightened as she spoke, her gaze fixed on Yanis.

Yanis was taken aback by Phoebe's request, "Me, get involved?"

Phoebe nodded eagerly, "If I really stay in Manches City, I want to do what I love. I don't want to stick

with my brother at the Lawrence Group. There's so much going on there. If I were to be there, I'd be

exhausted in less than three days."

Yanis couldn't help but laugh, "Your brother has been working there for years just fine."

Phoebe clicked her tongue, "It's different. The Lawrence Group was originally managed by Grandpa

and given to my brother. I don't plan to be a good little sister and help him out."

"In that case, I'll certainly stand by your brother. I support him."

Phoebe scoffed, "You really don't know how to win over a sister-in-law."

Yanis chuckled, "Have you talked to your brother about this?"

Phoebe shook her head, "My brother has been gradually handing over the company's affairs to my dad

and me. I almost feel like he's planning to become a silent partner. How else can I interpret it?"

With that said, Phoebe seemed to make a decision. She sat up abruptly, "No, I'm going to strike at the

company. I'm going back to Seacity!"

As Phoebe was about to leave, Yanis extended her hand to stop her, "If your brother is really planning

to become a silent partner, even if you return to Seacity, he can still pull you back."

Phoebe sighed, "How can things turn out like this?"

"Sometimes you just have to accept your fate."

Phoebe slumped back onto the bed, looking pitiful, "I'm so unlucky."

Yanis reached out and rubbed Phoebe's head. Then she turned to Aurora and asked, "What do you

want to eat? I'll have the housekeeper prepare something and bring it over."

Aurora replied softly, "Anything is fine, I'm not picky."

"Alright, I'll have the housekeeper prepare a variety of dishes and send them over later."

Phoebe continued to keep Yanis company at the hospital until Stella arrived in the afternoon. Yanis

returned home with Phoebe after spending the day at the hospital.

Zane had been busy with company matters for the past few days. Even though he had delegated some

responsibilities to Dylan and Phoebe, there were still many tasks that only he could handle properly.

"Why are you back so late?" Yanis asked when Zane returned after ten in the evening.

"Just finished work. Why aren't you asleep yet?" Zane changed his shoes at the entrance and

approached Yanis, pulling her into a hug. "Did you have dinner?"

"Yes, I ate with Phoebe and the others. Phoebe only left a little while ago," Yanis replied as she got up

and fetched a glass of water for Zane. She handed it to him and asked, "Is your work at the company

not done yet?"

Zane took the glass of water and sat down with Yanis, "It's almost done, just a couple more days."

Yanis nodded and recalled what Phoebe had said earlier. After a moment of hesitation, she spoke up,

"Zane."

"Yeah?"

"Phoebe mentioned that she thinks you're planning to be a silent partner and hand over the Lawrence

Group to Uncle Dylan and her. Is that true?"

Zane's brow furrowed slightly at her words. "I did have that idea, but both Uncle Dylan and Phoebe are

quite stubborn. They're refusing to take over, and even though they've been at the company, they're

working like regular employees. They clock in and out on time and work even harder than others."

Their attitude was quite clear. Even though they were willing to help and even put in overtime, when it

came to taking over, they had a resolute "If you push me any further, I'll quit" stance. They had no

intention of managing the Lawrence Group.

After hearing his explanation, Yanis mused, "So, what's your plan?"

"The Lawrence Group isn't just mine; even if they're unwilling, I'll allocate shares according to the ratio.

I discussed this with Grandpa, and he's okay with it."

Yan

is nodded and then brought up Phoebe's proposal, "Phoebe said that if she stays in Manches City, she

still wants to start a small company. She even asked if I could get involved."

Hearing this, Zane turned his head to look at Yanis, "Did you agree?"

"Not yet. I told her I support you."

Zane chuckled, "You can consider this proposal. When the time comes, I'll help you find a suitable

place. We can even relocate Bonnie's studio along with it. I heard during lunch with some colleagues

that the area might undergo redevelopment."

"Are they planning to demolish it?"

Zane nodded, "It's scheduled for the next couple of months. The plan was already in place."

"That works too. I'll talk to Bonnie and then discuss it with Phoebe."

"But there's no rush on Phoebe's end. We'll discuss it later."

Zane understood Phoebe's character well. If he gave her even a slight opening now, she would

immediately start planning. However, that wasn't feasible at the moment. With Yanis pregnant, Zane

wanted to ensure she was taken care of and didn't want any mistakes to occur.

Yanis was unaware of Zane's thoughts, but she didn't dispute what he said. After all, starting a larger

jewelry design company was a significant undertaking that required careful planning and consideration.

"Alright, we can discuss it later," Yanis agreed softly. "It's getting late. Let's wash up and go to bed."

Zane agreed with a nod. After taking a few sips of water, he got up and held out his hand to Yanis. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

They headed upstairs together.

Since Yanis had already taken a shower, she decided to message Bonnie while Zane was in the

bathroom. Bonnie responded quickly, "Why are you still up so late?"

Yanis sat up and typed a message to her ex-husband: [Zane just got back. Waiting for him.]

After sending that message, Yanis mustered the courage to type out the conversation she had with

Zane earlier. She wanted to share all the details with Bonnie.

Bonnie called shortly after receiving Yanis' message, "Is what Mr. Lawrence said true?"

Yanis confirmed, "It should be."
