Master Odell’s Secret Ex-wife

Chapter 1876

Chapter 1876

Her heart accelerated uncontrollably.

Ding!

She received an unexpected text from Heather.

“Hey Caprice, | just wanted to apologize for what happened with the ticket machine this afternoon. | thought it was only going to be a harmless prank, | didn’t expect all that to happen.”

Caprice was taken aback by her message.

What was this about?

What would prompt Heather to apologize to her?

Another text followed after that. “I feel terrible about what happened so | resigned.”

Caprice was very confused at this point.

Stoked by curiosity, she asked Heather, “I heard about you getting fired by Liam. Is this why you mentioned that you felt terrible?” On the other end of the phone, Heather's stiff fingers hovered over her phone. The color drained from her cheeks.

She was only texting Caprice to gauge if she had found out about her getting fired. She did not expect Caprice to be so caught up on the latest events.

Was it Liam or Isabel who told her?

She scowled sharply and began rattling against her keyboard furiously, hoping to salvage her image. “Yeah, | was just trying to mess around with you but what | did was a violation of company policy so Liam had to do what he had to do. To be honest, even if he didn’t let me go, I was going to resign anyway. My parents have been telling me to take up the family business. Besides. Liam also mentioned that | have been getting overworked lately and wanted me to take a break.”

After Caprice finished reading the long paragraph, her restless mood settled like a pool of still

water.

Liam had only let her go because of company policy.

Furthermore, he only let Heather go because he was worried about her getting overworked.

Did this mean they were still tougher?

She sighed, disappointed by the turn of events. She did not feel like responding after that.

Meanwhile, Heather smiled coyly upon noticing Caprice’s reluctance in responding to her

message.

At least it looked like Liam had not confessed his feelings for Caprice.

He must think of Caprice as nothing more than his sister. The reason she got fired by Liam must have nothing to do with Caprice. The only reason Heather texted Caprice at all was to figure out if Caprice still thought that she was dating Liam.

Caprice would not choose to end the conversation out of nowhere if she was not under the assumption that Heather and Liam were still dating.

After a while, she texted Caprice again. “By the way, Caprice, there’s this clubhouse in Westchester called Emerald V, it’s run by my family. It looks like I’m going to be taking over the clubhouse from here on so | won't have time to hang out with you going forward. The good news is you can take your friends to the clubhouse! Just tell the staff my name and they will let in.”

you Caprice was not expecting yet another message from Heather. It was blatantly clear that she was only trying to boast about her taking over her family business.

Caprice had heard about Emerald V. It was among the top three entertainment venues in Westchester. All of its members were prominent members of the business world, all boasting net worth well into the hundred million.

Emerald V itself was one of the many subsidiaries of a certain company that led the entertainment sector in Westchester. Caprice had trouble recalling the name of the company but she speculated that Heather must be the daughter of the owner of said company.

She was not in the mood of entertaining Heather’s self-indulgent stories.

Heather smiled coyly, realizing that she had successfully riled up Caprice.

Emerald V was very famous among the socialite class in Westchester. She was certain that Caprice must have heard of it and would have figured out that she was the future successor of VV Entertainment, her family’s corporation.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

It was about time Caprice realized that she could not possibly hope to compare herself with her! She was superior in every aspect!

She was convinced that Caprice did not respond because she was jealous and chose to ignore her out of spite. Shortly after Caprice put away her phone, the car stopped outside the dormitory.

“Thank

you,

Moses.” Caprice thanked him sincerely, then she got out of the car.

Freya stepped out of the car as well.

Moses suddenly got out of the car as well. He went toward Caprice and asked hastily, “Caprice, | still owe you a meal, don’t |? Do you have time tomorrow night?”

Caprice was still in a sour mood from her conversation with Heather. She ended up lashing out unfairly at Moses. “No. I’m busy.” Moses seemed caught off guard by the sharpness of her tone and murmured, “Okay.”

With that, Caprice went up the stairs.
