Natalie was surprised by Austin’s behavior but didn’t think too much of it. He was probably just concerned that Jeremy might be giving her a hard time.

Both Austin and Hank were aware of her complicated relationship with Jeremy.

Turning back to her room, she glanced at Jeremy and said, “I think we’re done here. My colleagues from the studio have organized an event, and I need to attend.”

With that, she grabbed her phone from the table and made it as if to leave. Jeremy’s expression darkened further, and he grabbed her wrist.

Natalie yanked her arm away sharply. But after doing so, she realized she had overreacted. She looked at Jeremy apologetically and asked, “Do you need anything else?”

Hearing Natalie’s somewhat unfamiliar inquiry, Jeremy felt a sharp pain in his chest, as if someone had a tight grip on his heart. He also noticed Austin watching him, seemingly guarding against any trouble he might cause Natalie. It was laughable.

“No,” he said coldly before striding out of the room.

When he reached the door, he paused for a moment. He exchanged a

meaningful look with Austin from close range.

That glance was a silent exchange only they understood. By the time Natalie walked out, Jeremy had already left, striding away.

Once Jeremy was in the elevator, Austin asked Natalie, “Did he give you trouble?”

Natalie hesitated before replying, “No, we just discussed a few things.”

Austin glanced at Natalie’s still red and swollen eyes but chose not to ask any further questions.

After Skylar got in, Joe took a phone call that lasted over half an hour inside the car. Skylar gazed out the window, watching the passing scenery.

But as she kept looking at the nighttime scenery, she started to feel drowsy. Just as she was about to close her eyes and sleep, Joe ended the call.

‘Are you tired?” he asked.

Skylar, already feeling sleepy, nodded weakly.

“Lean on me and rest,” Joe offered, gesturing for her to come closer.

Just as Skylar was about to do so, Joe’s phone rang again. The clear ringtone instantly banished her sleepiness.

Joe was surprised by the second call. He frowned slightly and appeared displeased.

“Go ahead and take the call,” Skylar said. She decided to wait until they reached the hotel before sleeping.

When Joe saw the incoming call, he paused momentarily and answered it after a brief hesitation. The caller likely asked if he was available later. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

Joe responded coolly, “I don’t have time right now… Let’s see how things are when I return to Jipsburg.”

After a brief conversation, Joe ended the call. He then turned off his phone and set it aside. He looked at Skylar.

Noting that she was still gazing out the window, he asked, “Did you enjoy yourself these past few days?”

Skylar pulled her gaze away from the window. “Yes, I had a good time.”

“Is something bothering you?”

“No, I’m just tired.”

Skylar recalled the Instagram post she had seen earlier from Vera. In it, Vera hinted that this time, she would take the initiative.

She mentioned that, after all these years, the person who accompanied her to Fachington was someone she had not valued before. Now she realized that the person from the beginning was actually the one she wanted to spend her life with.

They soon arrived at the hotel. As Skylar looked up while entering, she noticed

that nearly every room had a balcony.

Some people stood on balconies, enjoying drinks and the night view. It was quite a coincidence.
