Chapter 155

Chapter 155

Candice did not agree. She turned on the flashlight on her phone and walked inside, supporting

her grandfather.

Fortunately, the old house was on the ground floor, and they reached it shortly.

As the dim light was turned on, the decorations in the room had hardly changed, merely covered

in a layer of dust.

Joe shuffled into the room, and Candice stood in the living room, surveying the old house.

Once, she had always wanted to bring Alex here, to the place where she grew up. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

But Alex was too busy, too busy even to spare time to hear the name of this neighborhood.

At first, Candice could console herself, saying it was okay, there was still time.

Later on, slowly, she stopped mentioning it to Alex.

Because it seemed like he did not care.

Sometimes, Candice felt quite foolish. Clearly, the other person’s attitude was so obvious, yet she

clung to unrealistic fantasies.

When her grandfather came out, his eyes were red, and Candice knew he was moved by

memories of her grandmother.

After helping the old man into the car, instead of driving back to the nursing home, Candice went

to a nearby fish soup restaurant.

It was an old shop where her grandfather often took her when

he was young.

“I think you won’t have an appetite tonight. How about coming to have some fish soup made by Madam

Zora?” Candice said as she helped her grandfather into the shop.

The store had been there for many years, so the decor was old–fashioned. When the glass door was

pushed open, the entire hall could be seen clearly.

At a table directly facing the entrance, there was a middle–aged couple. Candice found them a little

familiar but could not recall who they were at the moment.

She helped her grandfather to a table inside and ordered some dishes, and just as she had finished

ordering, the glass door was pushed open again. Immediately, a voice that made Candice’s eyelids

twitch sounded, “Mom, Dad, we’re back.”

+15 BONOS

Sonia was holding a bag in her hands, which she placed on the table, speaking with a smile. “Dad,

these are supplements Alex bought for you. He said that it takes a hundred dave for muscles and

bones to recover, and you need to rest more.”

Candice’s fingertips stiffened slightly. Then, she heard a faint sound of the door opening and Alex’s

deep hum of acknowledgment.

Naturally, Joe also heard Alex’s voice. He turned his head back to take a look and frowned. He then

stood up, looking at Candice. “Candy, take me back.”

It was evident that he did not want to see Alex and Sonia.

Due to Joe’s words, Sonia also noticed Candice.

She was slightly surprised and then reached out to hold Alex’s arm intimately, saying. “Alex, it seems

my dad’s recommendation for this restaurant is indeed good. Even Candice is dining here.”

Alex’s expression remained unchanged. “Indeed, it’s not bad.”

Candice sat in the old chair, but her thoughts could not help but drift to another matter.

Alex was very particular about his food, and he usually looked down on small street–side shops

like this one.

At least, he used to when he was with her.

In Candice’s heart, there was not much turmoil anymore, but she could not help but want to

compare. She wanted to see how far Alex could go when he truly liked someone.

It probably would not be like with her, where he did not even have time to accompany her to her old

house.

A faint smile appeared on Candice’s lips.

Suddenly, she felt like an onlooker.

An onlooker who was not completely without ulterior motives. Because she really wanted to know how

Alex would love someone.
