Chapter 83

Chapter 83

He nodded and just wanted to say something when his phone lit up.

Sonia glanced at it and said, “You have a message, Alex.”

But before she could even finish, Alex had already grabbed the phone and looked at the screen. He

then said

with a deep voice, “You should go to bed soon.”

Sonia looked at him. He was holding his phone with furrowed brows. She decided to stay silent despite

all the

things she wanted to say.

Candice felt she didn’t get that much sleep. She felt she was in a state of half asleep and half awake,

remembering many things that happened when they were little. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

It was already eight when she woke up the next day.

Luckily, nothing much was happening today. After cleaning up a little, she noticed her scalded hand

had

almost fully recovered.

Since she didn’t have many things to do alone at the hotel, Candice suddenly remembered the few

exhibitions

that Hanley had recommended to her that she hadn’t visited. She chose the closest one and went over.

Since she visited on a workday and it was a small exhibition, the crowd was quite light.

Candice snapped a few pictures inside and sent them to Hanley, asking him about the settings..

Hanley didn’t reply, as he was probably busy.

When she got back to the hotel, only then did Hanley reply to the messages. Candice read it as she

walked

toward the elevator.

However, when the elevator door opened, she saw Alex and Sieg stepping out of it.

She had only seen Sieg once that day at the hotel. She thought he had gone back already.

Sieg was still upset upon seeing her as usual. He teased and said, “Candice, are you really here on a

vacation?”

Candice raised her eyes and said, “I’m not arranged for any work today, so it’s my personal time.”

Sieg let out a strange smile and then looked at Alex behind him, saying, “Alex, you’ve been looking for

her, but

she said she’s not working today and it’s her personal time.”

Candice frowned. She had already checked yesterday around noon that she had no work today.

However, Sieg said that Alex had been looking for her. Candice looked at him with a slight frown.

“We’re going to meet up with Ava later to get the contract signed.” However, Alex said little and simply

arranged the work. “I have things I need to do. I’ll complete it as soon as possible.”

Candice asked nothing more and simply turned around and left together with Alex.

Meanwhile, when Sieg reached the hotel door, he stopped and turned around, saying, “I hate doing

business.

I’ll see you later.”

Alex didn’t stop him and simply went and met up with Ava, together with Candice.

She then asked, “Are you sure that Ms. Goodman wants to sign the contract?”

The contract had been dragged on for too long, but Candice’s thoughts were preoccupied, so she

wanted to leave Stugan City as soon as possible.

Alex nodded. “Yeah.”

Candice relaxed somewhat. But after she calmed down, she turned and looked at Alex.

He was resting with his eyes closed.

His frown was deep, and there was some blemish under his eyes. Looked like he didn’t rest well last

night.

Candice looked at him, unable to speak.

Alex could feel her looking at him, so he opened his eyes and asked, “What is it?”

“Yeah,” Candice closed her eyes. After a moment of silence, she said, “After the contract is signed, I

want to take some days off.”

Alex was already frowning, and now his frown was even deeper. His finger twitched almost

undetectably, but he quickly returned to how he looked, as if he didn’t care about a thing in the world.

He clicked his tongue and said, “Candice, I brought you here for work, and you’re treating this as a

vacation paid by the company? Not only are you skipping work, you want to take days off now?”
