Chapter 486
Chapter 486
After finishing his words, he delegated the task of grabbing Amanda some soup to the nursing station staff and hurried off.
By the time he reached the base of the Ferris wheel, the ongoing dining session had just ended.
Chase watched couples disembark one after another and felt an indescribable emotion stirring within him.
When he spotted Sasha standing alone amidst the lovebirds, he dashed towards her.
He grabbed her wrist in one swift motion.
With concern etching his features, he asked, "Sasha, why are you here by yourself?"
Sasha, upon recognizing his face, jerked her hand free.
Her words slurred with intoxication, "Why not? What? Was I meant to wait for you? Who do you think you are? Why should I wait for you?"
Then, she turned and staggered towards the exit without looking back.
Chase quickly caught up to her. "Sasha, Amanda just passed out from hypoglycemia. I was just getting her to a hospital room. You're not jealous, are you?"
Sasha stopped in her tracks, giving him a sheepish smile. "Jealous of her? Why would I be? You're not mine to be jealous over. Go be with whoever you want. It's got nothing to do with me. Remember, this is all just pretend."
She then continued her unsteady path through the crowd, aiming for a taxi, but before she could get in, Chase scooped her up and slung her over his shoulder.
"Chase, put me down! Believe it or not, I'll sue you for harassment!"
He chuckled mischievously. "Go ahead, sue. I'd like to see which cop dares to intervene in a little lovers' tiff."
As they bickered, some passersby recognized Sasha.
Curious onlookers began to gather.
"Is that Sasha? That must be her official boyfriend. He's so handsome!"
"With a boyfriend like that, no way she'd be climbing over some movie star's wall."
Some fans followed, inquiring, "Sasha, did you have a fight with your boyfriend? Why come to the Ferris wheel's diner alone?"
Facing her fans, Sasha's initial urge to curse out loud was suddenly stuck in her throat.
Moments before, she had been struggling on Chase's shoulder, but now she went still, grinning foolishly at her fans. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
The fans screamed in delight, "Aww, she's so adorable when she smiles. No wonder her boyfriend is so smitten. If I had a girlfriend like that, I'd want to carry her home too."
"Sasha is a star with no airs about her. Drunk as she may be, she's not afraid to show her bare face."
Feeling the warmth of the spotlight, Sasha's cheeks heated up.
Her head spun, filled with the sound of Chase's low laughter.
He whispered in her ear, his breath warm and teasing as it brushed against her earlobe, "Sasha, I was wrong. I shouldn't have left you alone at the hospital. I had an emergency with a patient. Come on, don't be mad. Let's go home, okay?"
His flirtatious words had the crowd blushing and giggling.
The girls shrieked, "Forgive him, Sasha! He's handsome and so sweet. If you don't want him, we'll take him!"
Seizing the moment, Chase gently stroked Sasha's hair, his voice a seductive purr, "You can't have me. I'm hers."
Then, he carried her off toward the parking lot. Their path was followed by a wave of squeals.
Once in the car, Sasha was still in a daze.
What had she just heard?
That bastard was sweet-talking her.
Why was her heart racing like this?
She'd never been affected by anything he did or said before, right?
As Chase climbed into the driver's seat, Sasha quickly turned her head away, trying to hide the flutter of panic within.
But Chase wasn’t one to miss an opportunity.
He reached out with his long, elegant fingers, cupping Sasha's chin, and his handsome face drew closer.
