Chapter 101: What Have I Done to You
Chapter 101: What Have I Done to You
Hayden’s face flushed red, “You…”
“Tell me. What have I done to you?”
Joseph walked towards Hayden without any changes in his facial expression. He stared at Hayden and said, “Perhaps you should demonstrate what I have done. I don’t mind.” Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
Hayden got panic and drew back from Joseph. Her calf hit the couch, and she fell backward out of imbalance, so she quickly grasped on whatever was nearest to her at that moment.
Hayden noticed what she grasped was Joseph’s collar almost immediately. She got ready to push him away the minute she fell on the floor but…
The thunder roared in the sky of the night. At the same time, the room went dark after some buzzing sound. Hayden shouted out of surprise. She ran into Joseph’s arm and shivered.
The noise of people asking around came from outside of the room.
“Why is it dark here?”
“Blackout?”
The service crews comforted customers, “Sir and madam, please remain calm and return to your room. We are experiencing a temporary power failure at the moment. Our crew is doing troubleshoots now. It will be fixed very soon.”
Hayden’s room was the only room that remained silent in the chaos. It was like the room isolated from all the chaos outside. It was so quiet that they could hear a needle dropping on the floor.
Hayden could the Joseph breathing on top of her.
Joseph could smell the perfume Hayden was wearing.
Their chests were so close to each other’s that they could feel each other’s heartbeat. The night was dark. Their distance was too close that the air between them was thin.
Hayden suddenly recalled the previous moment when they kissed. Her head was in a muddle that she forgot to push Joseph away.
“You haven’t told me yet. What have I done to you that night?”
Joseph’s voice raised beside Hayden’s ear. She felt like her soul had run out of her body and she had no control over her body.
“What?”
“What I have done to you the other night was way more restrained than what I’m about to do now.”
Joseph’s lips sealed Hayden’s lips and stopped her from talking before she could react.
“No…”
Joseph kissed Hayden repeatedly on her lips. He sucked her lips lightly and enjoying how Hayden taste. His kisses were on her chin, her neck, and on her shoulder that was exposed since don’t-know- when.
Hayden’s shirt was half-opened. The cold wind blew into the room, but no one felt cold. Hayden’s body felt warm. She knew she was wide awake, but Hayden lost control over her own body as if she was under the influence of alcohol.
When Joseph was about to reach his hand under her skirt, the buzzing sound came back, and the room lighted up the next second.
At the same time, Hayden pushed Joseph away, like she finally gained consciousness and control back on her own body. She stared at him for a few seconds before she decided to run away. However, she was too panicked that she locked herself into the bathroom.
Joseph laid on the couch after he got pushed away. He stared at the chandelier as if he blamed it for disrupting.
He then stared in the direction of the bathroom. He recalled what happened just now and felt curious.
He confirmed that Hayden’s body didn’t reject him, but instead, their body was a perfect match.
After locking herself in the bathroom, Hayden opened the tap and washed her face with cold water. The heat-feeling she had on her face only decreased after that.
What was wrong with her? Was she crazy? She almost slept with him again!
The door knocked.
“Sir, we had a power failure just now. As an apology, our lady boss made some dumpling for you as supper.”
“Alright.”
Hayden heard Joseph talking to the service crew outside.
She stood inside of the bathroom and stared at the door. After a while, Joseph knocked on the bathroom door.
“Just now…”
“I’ve heard it,” Hayden stopped Joseph, “You go ahead. I’ll come later.”
Joseph remained silent. Hayden thought she heard Joseph chuckled.
Hayden got herself prepared for almost ten minutes before opening the bathroom door, and walked out from it.
Joseph wasn’t in the room. It seemed like he went down before her.
She tidied up her room a bit. Looking at the heavy rain outside, it seemed impossible to go out and look for another accommodation tonight. It is necessary to rough it in.
The hostel lobby was bustling with noise. The tourists who stayed in the hostel were playing games like poker and the Werewolves of Miller's Hollow. There were even people who played the guitar and sang along.
Joseph was different from the others. He was sitting in the corner of the lobby and reading the business newspaper. He even jotting notes on the newspaper with a pen.
Hayden took a deep breath and sat in front of Joseph. She ignored what happened in the room, and said in a casual tone, “Why looking so serious? You are out for fun. Why are you reading the daily business newspaper?”
Joseph raised his head and asked, “Do you think I’m a boring person who has no entertainment at all?”
“You have entertainments?”
Joseph placed the newspaper on the table and pushed it to Hayden. “I have entertainments but it requires more attention and intelligence than what you normally played.”
It was a Sudoku game in the newspaper. All blanks were filled. Joseph was filling the blank of this game just now.
Hayden’s lips twitched. She almost forgot what happened in the room after insulted by Joseph.
“It is still a puzzle game. Playing the Werewolves of Miller's Hollow would need the same intelligence as well.”
It was just a game. Why the need to draw the line of which was the best and which was not?
Joseph disagreed, “No. For example, a 3-player poker game. Other than remembering the cards when shuffling, you already knew what card the other two players hold when you get your set of cards. I don’t think these games need intelligence.”
“Remembering cards?” Hayden doubted, “I knew there were people who could remember cards, but I have never heard of people who could know what cards the other players hold. It is impossible.”
How could anyone know what card the other players have before anyone played a card?
“I won’t force you to believe me,” Joseph raised his brow as if he was the winner of life.
Hayden got frustrated. She looked around and found two girls sitting on the next table peeking at Joseph. She had an idea.
“Is it just the two of you? Do you want to play cards?”
The girls were surprised. Their face flushed red and nodded repeatedly.
Hayden looked at Joseph and insulted him, “Well, don’t just talk the talk. Prove it. I’m dying to know if it is true, Mr. Beckham.”
Joseph didn’t reject Hayden’s suggestion. They put two tables together, and the girls got a set of cards from the reception counter. They drew lots to decide which team they are in. Hayden and Joseph were on the opposition team.
After everyone got their card, Hayden almost laughed out loud when she saw the good cards she had. As long as she gave out the bad card she had in the set, she will be the winner of this game.
