Having A Good Time
Having A Good Time
Zoe’s POV The following day, I was too lazy to get up from my bed, but mom went in to remind me. I’ve searched the internet about the symptoms of pregnancy since it’s my first time. The whole thing is new to me. I also don’t know when will I’m going to talk about it to my mother. I’m sure mom will get surprised. When I stepped out of the room, I frowned and covered my nose immediately when I smelled something in the air. It’s from the kitchen. My stomach stumbled down, and the bathroom called me. I dashed back to my room. I puked, but nothing came out. I closed my eyes and waited for my stomach to settle. I wished mom didn’t hear me. I’m not ready to tell her about it yet. After a few minutes, I stepped out of the bathroom and fixed my hair. Soon as I opened the door, I saw mom standing in front of it. I frowned and immediately covered my nose. I saw how mom’s forehead creased. “What’s wrong?” I smiled faintly. “Mom—” “Why are you covering your nose? Zoe, I just took a bath and—” “Gotta go, mom. See you, bye,” I said and kissed her forehead. I rushed towards the main door and got out. I sighed in relief when I let go of my nose. I climbed the stairs and walked towards the café. I frowned when I saw Cindy standing near the door and staring at me. I smirked. “What?” “So, you made your decision—” “I don’t want to talk about it.” Cindy laughed, but I sensed the sarcasm in it. “Yeah, whatever. Anyway, Grant invited us over for
dinner. His treat.” I arched my brow. “Where to and why?” “Why? Do you have to ask about it? Of course, he wanted to help you.” “How do you trust his words?” Cindy’s forehead creased, and she rolled her eyes. “No comment. Anyway, do the inventory. I will just help Mr. Reynolds in packing for the orders,” she said and turned her back away from me. I sighed and shook my head. “Geez, what a life,” I whispered. But I know God has better plans for us. ‘You got this, Zoe. You’re strong,’ I empowered myself as I walked inside. Hours passed, and the café did great again. Aunt Millie is so proud of us because the profit has doubled ever since I handled the café. And Cindy was also grateful that she got a higher salary. “Grant will fetch us. Do you want to get change first?” Cindy asked while I was fixing my hair in front of the small mirror of the metal locker. “I’m good.” “Yuck…” Cindy uttered. “At least take a shower—a warm one and, of course, a casual dress—” “I’m not going to a party, Cindy. So, stop blabbering and stay away from me,” I said. Cindy snorted and laughed softly. “Whatever, preggy.” I let out a soft chuckle. “Shut up. Anyway, where’s Calyx?” I saw how Cindy’s body stiffened. I smirked. “It’s been a while since I last saw him. How about you?” Cindy rolled her eyes at me. “How can you see him if you’re just here at the café? And what about him?” “I am not dumb, Cindy. That man likes you—he was your first, right? Are you two still having se—” “What the hell, Zoe?! Shut up!” Cindy roared. I burst into laughter. “Now, you know the feeling of being teased,” I said, making her roll her eyes and even flip her hair. “So, what if we’re having sex? At least I am using pills; how about you?” Cindy asked, making my eyes widen. Her words struck pain in my heart. Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
I smiled faintly. “Yeah, sorry. I didn’t take pills. Unlike you. Anyway, does Calyx loves you?” Cindy pressed her lips together and pierced her eyes into mine. “Are you starting a war, Zoe?” I shrugged my shoulders. “I thought it was you who wants it, Cindy.” Cindy was about to talk when a deep yet husky voice interfered. “Hello, ladies?” I frowned as I turned to face Grant. Grant smiled at me, making me arch my brow. “Why are you here?” I asked, but I was just bluffing. I wanted to burst into laughter when I saw how his face showed confusion. I bit my lower lip and looked at Cindy. “The driver has arrived,” I said. “W-Wait? Driver? Are you two having a good time making fun of me?” Cindy and I met each other’s gazes and shrugged our shoulders.
