Chapter 1015 Let Her Off Easily
That night, Bailey received news of Kurt's death in the secret chamber.
When Lex asked her what to do, she simply said, “Burn it.”
As her words fell, she felt unsatisfied. Thinking about all the things Kurt had done, one after another, she felt that simply burning him was
letting him off too easily.
So, just as Lex was about to leave the living room, she added, “Scatter his ashes in the flower bed as fertilizer.”
Bailey knew that one could only rest in peace after getting buried. All right. I'll grant him his wish, allowing him to fully merge with the earth,
to nourish the flowers and plants, exhausting his last bit of worth.
Lex had just received her orders and was about to leave when Artemis, who was sitting nearby reading a newspaper, suddenly joked, “He's
full of poison. If you throw his ashes into the flower bed, I bet all your precious plants in the garden will die from the poison.”
Bailey was somewhat speechless. Even after he's dead, he's a hassle.
“Forget it. A person with a heart as venomous as a snake and scorpion doesn't deserve to be fertilizer. Let Lex handle it properly. His body is
full of deadly poison. Even if turned to ashes, it would still be a source of toxin. We can't leave any potential dangers.”
“Okay.”
As Kurt was being cremated, Catherine also bid farewell to Eunice.
According to Simon's plan, he intended to burn Eunice alive. Only in that way could he make up for the years of suffering Luna had endured.
Of course, Catherine could never commit such a cruel act as burning someone alive.
However, Eunice had the parasite king inside her, and her existence was a disaster. In the end, she followed Bailey's advice, administered a
lethal injection to Eunice, and only then ordered her body to be cremated.
With the reshuffling of the Rogers family, Kurt and Eunice met their end, while Luna and Juliana were rescued. Their trip to Gregan could
thus be considered a satisfactory conclusion.
After some discussion, they decided to set off for Hallsbay in two days. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
On the second floor of the mansion on the east side, after discussing the return journey with Bailey and others, Zeke and Juliana returned to
their residence.
The toxin within Juliana wasn't as domineering as that of the Soul Reaper. Therefore, after the blood transfusion, Cameron prepared a
corresponding antidote for her. After taking it twice, the remaining toxin was completely eliminated.
She had been living in the manor for a while, and instead of losing weight, she had actually gained quite a bit.
Of course, that wouldn't have been possible without the meticulous care of Zeke.
“It's getting late. You should head to bed soon.” After sharing a laugh and bidding Zeke goodnight, Juliana made her way to her own room.
Back when she had an unrequited love, she was able to go all out and take risks.
The relationship between the two had improved, and they had taken a liking to each other. However, she had become more restrained, losing
the casualness she used to have in his presence.
If she were asked to drug Zeke and then climb into his bed, she believed she absolutely couldn't do it. As one gets older, they care more about
their dignity, and they start to become shy.
Zeke couldn't help but laugh as he watched her flee in disarray.
At that moment, he found himself somewhat missing the way that girl used to cling to him relentlessly.
Having experienced so much, she had become more cautious. Hence, expecting her to take the initiative to get close might be as difficult as
climbing to the heavens.
With the way things were then, seeing him and wishing to avoid him at all costs, he estimated there would be no progress in their relationship
even after three to five years.
Zeke didn't want to wait for three years. Even that idiotic Simon has come to his senses, getting the woman he's set his heart on into bed. I
simply can't afford to be get beaten.
With that thought in mind, a smile tugged at his lips as he briskly walked toward Juliana's room.
Just as she was about to slam the door shut, he swiftly extended his right foot, blocking it within the door frame.
Juliana wanted to close the door, but she was afraid that she might hurt his leg if she used too much force. All she could do was to
instinctively step back a couple of steps. “Aren't you going to rest yet?”
The moment she stepped back, it immediately gave the man outside an opportunity to take advantage.
The moment he swiftly entered her room and slammed the door shut, Juliana belatedly realized she had let a wolf into her den. “Z-Zeke, it's
getting late. Aren't you going to sleep?”
With a swift sweep of his arm, Zeke held her securely in his embrace. “I am.”
After he finished speaking, he added, “I'm sleeping with you, though. Before that, let's do something fun first.”
“I... Mmph!”
All the unspoken words were choked back.
Inside, things were getting steamy.
Outside, a few little ones were eavesdropping in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Not far away, Bailey, who was out for a walk, exchanged a glance with Artemis. Then, the couple quietly and harmoniously moved closer
together.
After listening for a moment, the two of them, in silent agreement, carried a few of the little ones and retreated outside the flower bed.
“Your Uncle Zeke has finally come to his senses, and if any of you disturb him, I'll skin you alive,” Bailey said.
She actually wanted to listen too, but she was too embarrassed to do so with the little ones around.
After hearing his mother's warning, Zayron couldn't help but scoff. “Rather than listening to them, I'd listen to you. My father has been wise
for a long time. I'm sure he won't be bothered by us.”
Bailey burst into laughter and playfully slapped him on the back of his head.
Zayron wanted to continue, but Artemis interrupted him, “Stop messing around. Everyone, go back to sleep. After a good rest, I'll take you out
for a day of fun tomorrow. The day after tomorrow, we'll set off back to Hallsbay.”
Zayron rolled his eyes in response. Having spent some time in Yannopolis, he had already visited all the tourist spots. Who cares if he takes us
around?
Susan was extremely excited because her father had never taken her out to play before. “Daddy, I want to go to the amusement park, the
underwater world, the Cartoon City, and the zoo.”
Artemis looked at his daughter and smiled gently. His gaze was tender and warm. “All right. Wherever you want to go tomorrow, I will
accompany you there.”
“Yay! I'm going to compete with Mommy for a spot, win Daddy over with my abilities, and then I can take Daddy out to play with me every
day.”
Evidently, Susan was an ambitious child.
The next day, Artemis really did take the kids out to play. They had a blast the entire day, only returning home after the sun had set.
Bailey didn't go with them. She stayed back at the manor to arrange subsequent matters.
Catherine also made a trip back to the Rogers residence to inform the head of the family about Harvey's condition. She warned him not to
cause any trouble and promised that once Harvey's health was restored, she would send him back to the Rogers residence.
At first, the head of the Rogers family was reluctant, but upon further thought, he became relieved. It's good that Harvey is going to the Luther
residence. Firstly, he can receive treatment for his illness, and secondly, he can learn skills from the Luther brothers. Once he completes his
studies and returns, he can reorganize the Rogers family. I bet the Rogers family will soon regain its former glory.
Early the next morning, Bailey, Artemis, and their party departed from Yannopolis on a private jet. As previously agreed, they didn't head to
Zaewora but returned to Hallsbay instead.
Meanwhile, in the garden of the Revelle residence in Hallsbay, Veronique, who had successfully battled cancer, was basking in the sun,
leaning back in a lounge chair.
Bill sat on the stone bench across from her. Squinting at her, he asked, “Are you really planning on letting that brat from the Xuereb family
marry the Fletcher family's daughter?”
With a gentle smile, Veronique reflected on her journey through the jaws of death, which had significantly calmed her temperament. “Dad,
Scarlett has done too many wrongs. She deserves to be punished. I don't want to let her off easily.”
“However, Justin didn't even give you a wedding. Are you really okay with that?”
