Chapter 107
Chapter 107
Ivy was perplexed by that name. Wyatt rubbed his nose, stood up, and swept a glance at Ivy’s face with uneasiness. On the other hand, Wyatt turned around with a glum expression and said, “Keep quiet!” to the group of soldiers behind him. Because of Wyatt’s powerful aura, everyone subconsciously quieted down. They continued to stretch their necks to look at Ivy and refused to leave. Ivy chuckled and moved her gaze to the door. Her tone of voice was gentle and soft. “Hello guys, thank you for putting your lives in danger to save mine.” She was overjoyed and thanked you from the bottom of her heart. Ivy might have died on that island long ago if it hadn’t been for them. “You’re very welcome, sis. We’re fellow soldiers who are incredibly proud of what you’ve accomplished! Aside from Wyatt, you’re the only person who would dare to point a gun at the pirate captain Ben’s head. “Yeah! You and Wyatt are truly a perfect match!” The tall man in a white doctor’s coat standing at the front walked over helplessly. “I’m going to conduct a follow-up investigation. Will you guys keep it down?” Dr. Jason then turned to Wyatt and said, “Take this bunch outside.” Wyatt’s dark eyes were a little hesitant. He walked away after a glance at Ivy. “You as well.” The doctor turned to face Sebastian. Sebastian’s face, which had been smug just a moment before, had turned gloomy. He then walked out of the room, somewhat reluctantly. Every time Sebastian came over to look after Ivy, he was “invited out” by Wyatt’s group of soldier buddies, who were simply assisting Wyatt in getting some alone time with Ivy. Sebastian was furious, and he didn’t expect to be treated this way even after Ivy awoke. Finally, the room quieted down. Ivy smiled and turned to face the doctor. “Thank you very much, doctor. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
The doctor shook his head and raised his brows. “You’re not whom legend says you are.” As he spoke, Jason pulled out several instruments to check her heart rate and wounds. “What legend?” Ivy inquired. “Well, based on what we saw on the news, the heiress of Wilson Enterprise is spoiled, arrogant, and has a temper. Wyatt once described you as a stubborn and capricious character.” This doctor was very straightforward. Ivy was taken aback. Wyatt’s ability to say this to him indicated that they had a close relationship. She did not want to continue the conversation and changed the subject. “How is Vince, the guy who left with me?” “He’s fine,” the doctor said after a brief pause. He can eat and sleep normally. After being beaten up by Wyatt, he finally understands his place.” Ivy was stunned. “How come Wyatt beat him up?” “You don’t realize he’s Wyatt’s nephew? The Reed family didn’t like that he was an explorer and cut off his allowance as a result, but he found the resources on his own and ran off to that island by himself. Reed’s family had no idea where he went, and he had been reported missing for three months! He’s probably still missing if he hadn’t saved you this time.” Ivy was taken aback. When Vince yelled “Uncle Wyatt,” her mind flashed back to her semi-conscious state. That meant Vince, whom she had met by chance, was, in fact, Wyatt’s nephew. It’s a small world, isn’t it? Ivy thought something and inquired, “Are those people earlier soldiers? Were there any casualties in the fight against the pirates?” If there were, she would feel terrible. After redressing her wound, the doctor bowed his head and gave her another injection. When he heard this, he burst out laughing. “There were no casualties on our side, but the pirates did. You’re the one who brought them on. Those people, including myself, are Wyatt’s army buddies from the same brigade from back then.
Governments will not send troops there because the sea around the island you landed on is pirate territory. Wyatt only brought us this far because he went to beg our admiral. This time, we’re not assisting as official soldiers, but rather on our own accord to avoid any political conflict.” Ivy’s chest felt heavy as if she’d been hit with a hammer. The doctor’s words made her feel as if she owed Wyatt more than she had before. “Thank you very much. I might not have survived if you hadn’t been able to come.” The doctor shook his head and looked her in the eyes. “If you want to thank someone, thank him. We know you’re both divorced, but everyone wants to come with him because he said you’re his life.” They couldn’t just stand by and watch Wyatt die. Ivy was taken aback. Her heart shook, and her eyes swelled up. She quickly lowered her head to conceal her feelings. ‘Wyatt...’ Ivy knew that if it hadn’t been for Wyatt Reed, she wouldn’t have had a chance to live. However, she had no idea how she was supposed to repay him for saving her life. The doctor quietly exited the room, and the room fell silent once more. Ivy’s chest felt heavy as if a boulder was pressing down on her, making it difficult for her to breathe. Sebastian quietly crept in at this point and sighed with relief when he saw no one else there. “I wouldn’t have put up with those jerks if it hadn’t been for the fact that they saved you! It’s been so suffocating these last few days! “Sebastian grumbled. Ivy laughed and inquired, “How are dad, Cooper, and Ryan?” Sebastian approached her and stroked her hair. “Ryan is standing right here on the deck. If it hadn’t been for him, I’d still be wandering around the area where your plane crashed, looking for a needle in a haystack. I suppose having a high IQ has its benefits.” Ivy couldn’t stop herself from laughing. She was very relieved. She knew deep down that the only person who could find her would be her second brother. He was, in fact, Ryan, the Great God! “Cooper is fine. Dad is in the hospital, but he is doing well.” In a split second, Ivy was worried. “Is everything all right?” Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
“How can everything be all right? We couldn’t even find a body or anything in the days following your plane crash. Dad even wanted to donate our entire family fortune in a time of crisis!” In shock, Ivy raised her eyes to Sebastian and asked, “Tell me our family isn’t broke, right?” ‘Oh no... Will I still be able to splash the cash?’ Ivy pondered. Sebastian sighed deeply as he patted her shoulder. “Don’t worry. I prevented that from happening. I’m not going to let you be a broke-ass!” Ivy breathed a sigh of relief. “That’s great!” When she looked down, she noticed that her clothes had been changed. She felt clean and not as wretched as she had on the island. Ivy didn’t have to worry about anything because Sebastian and Ryan were nearby. “What brings Wyatt Reed here?” It was unexpected for him to come to her aid. Sebastian had nothing good to say when this name was mentioned. “Because he has thick skin!” At this point, Ryan pushed the door open. When he heard Sebastian’s words, he slightly frowned and chided. “Devil, I’ve told you many times to look at the facts.” Simba joyfully leaped onto Ivy’s bed, the clean and adorable little tiger whirling around in front of her. Ivy stroked its soft little head and extended her hand toward Ryan. She smiled, her eyes squinting. “I knew you’d come to save me, Ryan!” Ryan hugged Ivy gently, afraid of ripping her wounds, then cast a glance at Sebastian. “There is no other way to approach this sea, so Cooper went to Wyatt for assistance. Since the plane crash, Wyatt has been with Sebastian, searching for you everywhere. He spent the same amount of money as we did. He also took a huge risk by going to the island. Cooper and I didn’t think Wyatt would be able to do this.” Ivy’s smile became frozen on her face. Her heart felt as if it had been electrocuted, with a slight tingling sensation. The gloom in her eyes became more apparent.
She would have been overjoyed to hear this if it had been before their divorce, but now... she couldn’t afford any favors from him. Sebastian snorted as he was dissatisfied with Ryan’s attitude. “Hmph! He wouldn’t have had to put Ivy through all of this if he hadn’t given her that stupid invitation in the first place! He’s the perpetrator, so it’s only natural for him to help!” Ryan sighed, helpless. “You should take a step back and look at this objectively. The plane’s malfunction isn’t his fault.” “However, he is still to blame for this! Anyway, whatever he does, I’m not too fond of it. Ivy simply ignores him. Ryan’s mind must be jumbled. How can he possibly support Wyatt Reed?!” Sebastian approached Ivy and took her hand in his. He stroked her hair lovingly, not paying attention to Ryan. Ivy drew the corners of her lips together. “You two need to stop arguing. Both of you make great points.” Sebastian’s lips twitched slightly. He snorted slightly and sighed, “Whatever, peacemaker!”
