Chapter 1376
“You must feel hungry. Tell me if you like it or not. If not, I will other food for you,” Calvin said.
“No, thanks. I like them,” Hanna hurriedly replied.
Calvin helped her chip up a large steak and then placed the plate in front of her.
“Thank you,” Hanna said subconsciously.
“You don’t have to thank me. Since I’m your boyfriend, that’s something I should do,” Calvin replied, gently tucking a loose strand of her hair behind her ears.
Hanna instantly blushed. She knew he was acting, but it still made her heart beat faster.
After eating all the food, Hanna was almost full. Calvin acted as a perfect boyfriend, telling her how to eat unfamiliar food, filling her drinks considerately, and even bending to straighten the hem of her dress when she stood up.
Everything he did was like a dream.
After finishing the dinner, Calvin said to Rosalie and Jonathan, “Excuse me. I’d like to introduce Hanna to some of my friends.”
“Okay, see you next time,” Rosalie said, smiling.
When Calvin walked away with Hanna, Jonathan noticed Rosalie’s curled lips and asked, “Are you happy now?”
“Yes. I’m so glad Calvin found his love and I also feel that Hanna is a wonderful woman,” Rosalie replied.
Jonathan fluttered his eyelids. “Yes, it is indeed a cheerful thing.”
He thought, “It doesn’t matter whether it’s true or not as long as Rosalie is happy.”
He shouldn’t interfere in Calvin’s affairs since he made his decision.
“Let’s go back early. You are pregnant and need to go to bed early,” Jonathan said.
“Okay, but… Honey, I still want to eat another piece of cake. It’s quite delicious,” Rosalie said. She had developed a strong preference for sweet food in the last two months. Perhaps she was carrying a girl.
In that case, she would have two sons and two daughters.
“Okay, I’ll get it for you,” Jonathan replied, his eyes full of fondness.
He was willing to give all the best things to this woman he could love with his life.
Hanna accompanied Calvin to meet some more people and Calvin drank a lot of wine with them.
At first, Hanna thought Calvin had to drink to socialize. Later, she discovered that he seemed to consume the wine on purpose in order to get drunk.
Hanna can’t help reminding him, “Calvin, you drank a lot!”
“I’ve always been good at drinking. It is nothing for me,” Calvin chuckled, looking at her.
Hanna gazed at him. Although he curled his lips into a smile, his eyes were full of sadness.
Was that because of Rosalie? While they were having dinner together, she could see that Rosalie was very happy and Jonathan was making a fuss over her.
If it was someone else, they would only feel that they were a loving couple. Hanna wondered how Calvin would feel.
“Shall we go now? Anyway, I’ve already seen many of your friends today and they all believed that I was your girlfriend,” Hanna said. She had an intuition Calvin had brought her to the banquet for Rosalie’s sake.
She wondered if he was putting on an act for Rosalie to ask her to pose as his girlfriend.
However, Calvin shook his head. “No. I’d like to introduce more friends to you. I feel a little dizzy. M- May I rest my head on your shoulder for a while?”
“Sure,” Hanna blurt out.
Calvin bent and leaned his head on her shoulder.
Hanna instantly felt heavy on her shoulder, and she could feel his hot breath fanning her neck.
At that moment, she suddenly felt that the man in front of her was extremely tired and she was his only support.
She slowly raised her hands and gently patted his back.
She didn’t know why, but she wanted to do so at that moment.
Calvin’s body stiffened but soon relaxed. He didn’t like physical contact with women, but he didn’t want to refuse her at that moment.
Perhaps now he needed her comfort. Perhaps it was because she was his girlfriend.
“Hanna, thank you,” he muttered in a low voice.
“Huh?” Hanna’s face blushed again. “F-Forget it. That’s what I was supposed to do,” she blurted out without thinking.
He smiled quietly and felt relaxed. “Since you’re my girlfriend, please allow me to rest my head on your shoulder a bit longer.”
He continued to lean his head quietly on her shoulder. It seemed time had stopped for a moment.
In a corner of the banquet hall, a man quietly leaned his head on a woman’s shoulder. The woman gently patted the man’s back. It was warm and peaceful. The scene was as beautiful as a painting.
When the banquet was Hanna had no idea how much Calvin had drank. He even drank all the wine that had been toasted to her.
Hanna wanted to tell him that she could drink a little wine.
Calvin, unlike those drunken men, still could walk in a straight line even after drinking so much. He was sober enough to talk and laugh with others. When Hanna looked at his eyes carefully, she could still see the drunkenness in them.
The driver was already waiting for them when they stepped out of the banquet hall. After they got in the car, Calvin asked the driver to send Hanna home first.
The car drove away slowly. Calvin leaned against the back seat with a thud and closed his eyes. © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
At that moment, he became intoxicated.
Hanna looked at Calvin beside her. It was dark in the car but she could still see his face clearly with the help of street lamps and moonlight.
He had exquisite facial features and a chiseled face. As the most powerful man in the entertainment industry, a lot of people who aspired to be celebrities sought to catch his attention, become famous overnight, or obtain better resources from him.
