The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 113

Chapter 113

After dinner, Cordelia washed up the dishes and checked her phone for a bit since she still had some

time before work.

She saw a comment Deanna left on Ronan's Facebook post. She dropped a drooling emoji with a

comment saying, [Wow, looks delightful.]

Cordelia's smile disappeared instantly. She understood that every word from Deanna had deeper

meanings. She wondered what Deanna was up to.

Ronan replied to her. [Cordelia made it.]

Almost no one at the company followed Deanna, so most people wouldn't understand this comment.

They would only see the picture Ronan posted and Cordelia's comment.

Cordelia swallowed her anger and replied to Deanna. [If you want some, come over to my place. I'll

cook for you.]

Cordelia felt that her reply was both gracious and demonstrated her position as the host.

Deanna replied to Ronan, [Ronan, Cordelia invited me over to your place. Do you agree?]

Ronan replied, [Sure.]

Cordelia, holding back her anger, asked, [This weekend at noon?]

Deanna. [Sure.]

Cordelia's good mood was completely ruined by Deanna.

In the afternoon, when she got into Ronan's car, Ronan asked Cordelia, "When did you start following

Deanna?"

"When you went to Birchwood last time, she contacted me... and I just followed her." Cordelia wanted

to say that Deanna wanted to see the proof of her miscarriage, but she decided not to badmouth

Ronan's ex in front of him.

"What did she want from you?" Ronan insisted on knowing.

"She told me her dad saved your life," Cordelia said lightly, omitting the rest.

Ronan frowned slightly but didn't say anything else.

After dinner, Cordelia took a bath with Zenwood Soap. This sandalwood soap was the first one her

father brought home when she was a child. Cordelia loved the scent and had been using it ever since.

But due to the impact of foreign brands, this soap gradually disappeared from the market.

Also, Cordelia noticed that Ronan seemed to be more gentle with her in bed. After turning off the lights,

he would whisper in her ear asking, "Do you like it?"

Cordelia, her lips a deep red, felt like she was the one he deeply loved.

Cordelia genuinely replied, "I really like it."

Because of his tenderness, Cordelia became gentler, and her eyes were filled with a soft glow. Even

Barney noticed and asked her, "Della, why do you look more and more beautiful these days?" Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

"Really? Thank you, Barney." Cordelia stole a glance at Ronan, who was expressionless.

Cordelia knew he was always like this, so she didn't say anything.

On Wednesday, Cordelia took some clothes to the mall for exchange and decided to walk around by

herself. This time she didn't invite Brooklyn, afraid that Brooklyn would notice her unusual mood and

make a fuss.

After returning the clothes, Cordelia went to the men's department to buy a tie for Ronan. She saw

Jamie trying on ties there. His company was close to this mall, so he came after work.

"What are you buying in the men's department?" Jamie was both surprised and slightly shy when he

saw Cordelia.

"Oh, I'm buying a tie for my husband," Cordelia replied. "Are you buying a tie too?"

"Yes, I am." Jamie seemed a bit awkward.

Cordelia had thought about this. She believed that Jamie didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't his fault

before, and it was understandable when he kneeled to Ronan for his father.

Although, Ronan's father was also pitiful.

"Mr. Colby, why don't you help me choose a tie," Cordelia suggested, trying to comfort Jamie. "I've

never bought a tie before."

"If it's for Mr. Evans..." Jamie said, "How about this red and blue striped one?"

Just as Cordelia was imagining how Ronan would look with this tie, Adrian's voice came, "Are you

done, Mr. Colby?"

Adrian noticed Cordelia and Jamie together, and a smile appeared on his face. "Cordelia, are you

buying a tie for Mr. Colby?" Adrian said slowly.

"Stop talking nonsense!" Cordelia disliked Adrian's insinuating look.

"Then what are you two doing together?"

"I'm done shopping. Let's go." Jamie carried his shopping bag and left with Adrian.

Before leaving, Jamie looked back at Cordelia.

Given the incident of buying clothes last time, Cordelia thought if someone else, especially Jamie, was

involved in the process, Ronan probably wouldn't want this tie. She could even imagine Ronan taking

off this tie and throwing it in the trash.

Cordelia went to another store and bought a plaid tie for Ronan, costing her a few hundred bucks.

When she got home, she showed the tie to Ronan.

"Is this for me?" Ronan asked.

"Yes, do you like it? Try it on." Cordelia blushed a bit since this was the first time she bought something

for him.

"I really like it." Ronan looked up at Cordelia.

Cordelia's face slowly turned red because what Ronan said was exactly the same as what he said in

bed. Seeing the subtle changes in Cordelia's expression, Ronan pretended not to know why and

stroked his chin, asking her, "What's the matter?"

"You're such a perv!" With that, Cordelia scampered off upstairs.
