The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 495

Chapter 495

In that session, Eason hypnotized Cordelia. He could tell that her situation was dire.

Cordelia had no idea what she had revealed in her sleep, but when she opened her eyes, she noticed

a different look in Eason's eyes.

From then on, she visited Eason's clinic on a weekly basis. Perhaps it was because Eason was a

psychologist, he was affable and empathetic, and made friends easily. Over time, he and Cordelia

became great friends. Their relationship was hinting at something more but not quite crossing into

romance. Cordelia was definitely closer to Eason than she was to Jamie because, in a foreign land,

Eason was the only one she could open up to.

Just now, Eason had asked Cordelia whether she wanted to continue her relationship with Ronan.

Three years ago, Eason had posed the same question to her. Back then, Cordelia could hardly tolerate

Ronan's actions.

Back then, Cordelia had no answer, and she still didn't now. Apart from her mother, Ronan had now

taken two more lives. Cordelia had no affection for these people and even detested them, but she

couldn't deny Ronan's ruthless nature.

Cordelia mulled over many things without sleep. She saw a new message on her phone. It was from

Brooklyn, saying, [I want to bring the kids over to see you tomorrow, is that OK?]

The message was sent three hours ago, when Cordelia was video-chatting with Eason and hadn't seen

it. Cordelia replied, [Sure, come on over.]

Brooklyn didn't respond.

Cordelia drifted off to sleep, vaguely hearing a knock at the door. She instinctively got up to answer it,

then returned to bed and fell back asleep.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Eason entered and sat by her bed.

"I'm heading to a meeting," he said.

"Mmm," Cordelia murmured, turning over and continuing to sleep. She had only slept for three hours,

and her mind felt foggy.

Eason quietly sat by her side, noticing the tear stains on her white pillowcase. "Why have you been

crying? What were you thinking about yesterday?" he asked Cordelia.

Cordelia woke up at his words, but she kept her back to Eason.

Eason gently bent down and placed a kiss on Cordelia's forehead. "After the meeting, I'll take you out

for dinner."

"I... can't today. A classmate is coming over."

Eason smiled gently. "When would you be free?"

"I'll send you a message when I can. Aren't you staying for a few days?" Cordelia asked.

"Yes."

"Then wait for me," Cordelia said.

Eason tucked the blanket around Cordelia and left.

A man like Eason, gentle and understanding, could easily win a woman's heart. Moreover, he was

wealthy, belonging to an aristocratic family in England. Despite this, he treated Cordelia like a princess,

with immense respect, a stark contrast to Ronan.

...

On Ronan's end.

At midnight, after Jayson had completed his IV drip, Ronan drove him and Petra home. On the way,

Jayson seemed to call Petra "mom" in his sleep and even called Ronan "dad."

Ronan glanced at him through the rearview mirror but didn't respond.

Fortunately, Jayson fell asleep. However, his calling Ronan "dad" stirred up a whirlwind of thoughts in

Petra's mind. She thought, “How wonderful it would be if Ronan was really the child's father.” She knew

it was wishful thinking, as Ronan already had his own child.

Petra handed Ronan a bank card in the study. "If you want to lend me money, you can transfer it to this

card."

Ronan took a picture of it. "I'll message you once I've made the transfer."

"Sure."

After settling the child down, Ronan prepared to leave. Petra didn't insist on him staying.
