Chapter 92
Chapter 92
After Ronan said that, Cordelia decided to hide in the bathroom. She was too self-conscious to come
out. Her feet, which were warm just a while ago, had turned cold since leaving the hot water. Ronan's
words sent shivers down her spine.
"I didn't!" Jamie defended himself.
Ronan snorted lightly, "You have the guts to confront me, but no courage to admit it! I hope you haven't
done anything you shouldn't have."
"So, did you set up the Audit Department for Cordelia?" Jamie asked, finding it hard to believe. He was
baffled at what game Ronan was playing.
"Yes. What about it?" Ronan said. It wasn't entirely for Cordelia, mainly because the financial system of
Lumos Enterprises was so massive, and he didn't trust Jordan that much. Jordan had limited
capabilities and some selfish thoughts of his own. Cordelia was the catalyst for the establishment of the
Audit Department.
"So, you set up the Audit Department for Cordelia, but in the end, she didn't join?" Jamie asked
disdainfully.
"You don't need to worry about that. It's the result of a discussion between Cordelia and me. As for the
reason, it's none of your business." Ronan lit a cigarette, squinting his eyes as he sized Jamie up.
He knew that Jamie must've been provoked by Adrian, hence his coming over.
Jamie stood there for a long time, then walked away dejectedly.
When the room finally quieted down, Janice came out of the bathroom and headed downstairs.
Cordelia also came out, wearing her slippers.
She stood by Ronan like a student who did something wrong in front of the teacher. With her head
down and hands in front, she said in a voice that was barely above a whisper, "Don't be mad!" She
even carefully tugged at Ronan's sleeve.
"What did you say?" Ronan looked up at her. Her face was full of remorse.
"Please don't be mad!" Cordelia raised her voice slightly, her tone somewhat changing.
"Still ordering me around?" Clearly, Ronan was not pleased.
"Please, it's all my fault. I wanted to change jobs but didn't tell you." Cordelia said, pouting.
Ronan glanced at Cordelia, "It’s fine this time, but you need to listen to me in the future."
Cordelia nodded, knowing that she had been caught by Ronan this time. He would have an "excuse", Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
making it difficult for her to disregard his words in the future.
She didn't know how Ronan found out, but if he set up the Audit Department for her, what more could
she ask for?
Ronan rubbed his forehead.
"What's wrong? Not feeling well?" Cordelia asked with concern.
"I just came out of the bathroom; the sudden brightness is blinding me." Ronan said slowly, "and..."
"And what?" Cordelia asked hurriedly.
"Your attitude pissed me off!" Ronan said.
Cordelia was speechless.
"Is it serious? Let me massage it for you. Want some eye drops?" Cordelia tried to appease Ronan in a
low voice.
"No need, it'll be fine in a bit." Ronan kept his eyes closed, rubbing his forehead.
Ronan's phone kept ringing.
"Check it for me." Ronan told Cordelia.
Cordelia thought could he read her mind? He always seemed to see through her. Just a few days ago,
she was thinking that she had never checked his phone.
"Okay." Cordelia took his phone and saw a message from Deanna, with photos of her shooting scenes.
She was dressed very stylishly, seemed like a strong woman at first glance.
Another message read: [Ronan, I'll be back in Millstone for the 'My Dear Dr. Rowland' launch in a few
days. Will you come? I miss you. Do you miss me?]
Cordelia fell silent, her mood dropping.
"What's wrong?" Ronan asked.
"Deanna's shooting on set. She'll be back in Millstone for a launch in a few days, and she's asking if
you miss her." Cordelia's voice was tinged with a hint of resentment.
"Let me see." Ronan reached out his hand.
After handing him the phone, Cordelia left. She went to the bathroom to pour out the foot bath water,
thinking he probably regretted letting her check his messages. He was probably replying to Deanna
now. She didn't even know what he replied to Deanna. This sucked!
Cordelia was torn between feeling guilty towards Ronan and being mad at him. She felt guilty because
he had done so much for her, yet she was mad at him because of his overly intimate relationship with
Deanna in front of her.
