Chapter 94
Chapter 94
The press conference for My Dear Dr. Rowland was held on Saturday afternoon.
After spending time with her mom, Cordelia headed over with Brooklyn and Edwin. Deanna had
hooked them up with front row seats. The venue was kind of hot, so Edwin stripped down to his shirt.
Brooklyn had specifically told him to wear that shirt, just to embarrass Deanna.
When Deanna spotted Cordelia and her friend Brooklyn in the front row, she recognized them from a
previous encounter at the mall. But, Ronan was nowhere to be found.
Especially when Deanna saw Edwin, she couldn't take her eyes off him. She could recognize the shirt
she bought.
Cordelia and Brooklyn were so happy seeing Deanna's frustration.
After the press conference, Deanna pulled Cordelia aside and asked, "Where's Ronan?"
"You're asking about my husband?" Cordelia replied, "He's not into these kind of things, so he sent me.
I'm here on his behalf."
"Where's the shirt I bought for him? Why did you give it to someone else?" Deanna was fuming, her
eyes practically shooting daggers at Cordelia.
"Don't blame Cordelia for this. It was Mr. Evans who gave it to me. I once failed at starting my own This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
company and applied to be Mr. Evans' driver, but he refused. Instead, he invested in my gaming
company and helped me get back on my feet. So, him giving me a shirt or two is no big deal." Edwin
stepped in at the right moment.
Deanna was fuming.
Cordelia was shocked. So when she went to buy a computer, Ronan already knew Edwin? Why did he
pretend not to know him? To gather more information?
What didn't Ronan know? She felt like a clown in front of Ronan; he knew everything.
Cordelia was celebrating her victory after defeating Deanna. But when she got back to Pearl Palms,
she found Deanna sitting on her sofa, chatting with Ronan.
Barney was not in the living room.
Knowing Barney disliked Deanna, Cordelia figured he had retreated to his room upon seeing her.
Cordelia's mood instantly dropped.
"Stop right there!" Ronan chided Cordelia in a low voice.
Cordelia was already upset about Ronan hiding his connection with Edwin, and now him telling her to
stand in front of Deanna was simply humiliating.
The last time his grandfather was ill, he had already made her stand once.
Cordelia stood there begrudgingly, thinking, "Deanna is such a pain. She stirs up trouble in my house
and leaves a bad impression on Ronan."
"How can you give away something that someone else gave you?" Ronan frowned, sitting on the sofa
and scolding Cordelia like a child.
Cordelia huffed and turned her head, not wanting to see Deanna's smug face.
"If anything is to be given, it should be me giving it. What's up with you doing?" Ronan continued, "The
gifts from our guests, I haven't even given them yet, and you're already making a move. Who's the
head of this household, do you even know?"
Cordelia was too pissed to understand what Ronan was implying.
Deanna's smug smile was replaced by a look of embarrassment. What did Ronan mean by his words?
He was saying she was a guest, that he and Cordelia were family. He was the head of the house and
Cordelia must listen to him.
After a stern lecture to Cordelia, Ronan turned to Deanna and said in a soft voice, "I've talked to her,
she won't do this again. Don't you have work to do?"
Realizing that Ronan was asking her to leave, Deanna had no choice but to get up and go.
Cordelia went upstairs, dropped her bag, and sat on her bed. Ronan followed soon after. He came up
to Cordelia, amused by her pettiness.
His hand gently touched Cordelia's chin, "Is this why you're upset? Because I scolded you, or because
I know Edwin?"
"Do you know everything?" Cordelia looked up at Ronan.
"More or less." Ronan lit up a cigarette.
"So..." Cordelia stared at him and tried to gauge Ronan's expression, "Do you know why I came to
work at Lumos Enterprises?"
Ronan's brows furrowed, and he paused in lighting his cigarette.
