“I’m gonna get a doctor to check you guys out right now.”
“Nah, don’t bother. Don’t you know Alex’s temperament? He’s scared of needles and hates taking medicine. I bet he’ll be fine by nighttime.”
Sophia decided not to think much of it. She chuckled and said, “Seems like you know your little brother best. Alright then, but if you notice his condition getting worse, you have to let me know right away.”
Aiden nodded and cautiously looked at his grandmother. “Is there something you need Alex and me for?”
Why did Grandma suddenly show up? It scared him.
“Um, there is actually something.” Sophia said with an awkward smile. “I was thinking of taking you both to the hospital to see how the lady who saved you is doing.”
Before Aiden could answer, Alex immediately responded, “I’m not going! I don’t want to see her!”
Sophia frowned. “What kind of talk is that? She saved your life! Alex, you should go no matter what to thank her in person.”
“I said I’m not going!” Alex retorted angrily and went back to bed, covering his head with the blanket.
Sophia wanted to say something more, but Aiden quickly said, “Grandma, don’t push him. If he doesn’t want to, don’t force him. I’ll go with you, okay?”
“Alright, then just you and I will go. I don’t want to force Alex; this whole thing might have affected him a lot. I’ll find a psychologist to give him some counseling later.”
Aiden obediently nodded, and Sophia stood up to leave with a smile. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
At the door, she turned around and said to Aiden, “Honey, get ready. After we eat, I’ll take you.”
“Alright. I’ll do as you say.”

After the door closed, Aiden went back and pulled off Alex’s blanket. “You trying to suffocate yourself?”
Alex glared at him and turned his face away. “I knew you were a traitor! You’re going to see her because you don’t want Mommy anymore!”
Aiden sighed. “How could I not want Mom? I’m going this time to find out what really happened. What can we learn from staying in this room? If you still want a mommy, get up, get ready, and come with me. Maybe you can even help me out at the hospital.
Alex raised an eyebrow. “Really?”
“Of course! I’m Mom’s child too. You think I don’t care about Mom and Dad? If I accepted a new mom, why would I bother plotting with you?”
Alex finally sat up and pouted. “Fine, but don’t expect me to call that woman Mommy I only have one mommy in my life, and that’s Clara!”
“Okay, okay, I won’t force you. Grandma won’t make us call her Mommy either. She just wants us to visit her, and she did save us, so it’s only right to visit.”
“I think she helped us just to curry favor with our dad.”
“Regardless, she did help us. Alright, I don’t want to argue about this anymore. Get yourself ready.” Aiden pushed him into the bathroom. “When we get to the hospital, don’t do anything rash; try to keep quiet and follow my lead.”
Alex just lowered his head to wash his face and didn’t respond.
